Just wanted to share pics of this unique coin with the community, coin diameter is roughly 56mm for air-tite reference, that holo though, offers nice contrast and balance:

I had a long discussion with my friend, Jabid, about physical Bitcoin. He compared them to wine, or art.

Wine can "go bad" with time and bad storage (light, temperature, humidity,...). Do you buy fine wines to drink, or to keep? What do you do if a bottle is "corked" ("bouchonnée" in french)?

Works of art can be counterfeited. The provenance and history of the works are very important and experts are sometimes needed to authenticate a painting.

In the future, the provenance of OG physical bitcoin (like Casascius, Lealana, BTCC,...) might become important, and perhaps experts like minerjones or elianite might be needed. I wouldn't buy a Casascius on ebay.

That said, following teegumes' thread, I print the keys on special paper that I order from Novalith in France, and I use pigmented ink. I dipped the keys in water with rust and after several months the qr codes were still readable.

But as Smoothie says: coins are not hack proof.

My 2 sats

P.S. In the future I will probably consider doing 2 pieces for the priv key (   Wink Krogoth)...

Haha thanks for the shout-out Frank. Wink

For my Monero BTC Doge and LTC combo coin I had 8 priv keys PLUS an NFT wallet as well! Grin

Good question....I do both in QR code and alphanumeric on laser printed water proof paper

Have a test going on for close to 2 years now for private keys under water and they are fine.

TESTING- Submersing paper wallets printed on water proof papers
Do you do a QR code with the priv key around it wrapped in a circle?

No...each is individual printout...so 2 pieces for the priv keys and one piece for the NFT...total of three

I use Mycelium to generate the keys...as you can see from this pic I use the qr code and alphanumeric generated keys.

Awesome man thank you for this. I have to buy some paper from one of these that you’ve been testing for 2+ years. Do you have a preference? I’ve never used any of them so not sure which one I should get. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks again for the time taken to do this test!

Thanks......I use Terra paper for all my private keys. And yeah this test will be kept ongoing for as long as I can keep it rolling

I remember when I funded mine in 2017 prefork....Max once told me

The only way to redeem the funds is to break open the case... these are designed to hold funds long term and ride out the highs and lows.

So it's a sure good way for me to hodl looong term
191  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS 48H ONLY] 2016 Lealana Monero 100 XMR Silver Coin #20 on: September 15, 2022, 01:12:57 AM
Having tried to help rxalts for a while last night we did find the correct font. But some were so indistinguishable as to make it quite complicated. There were parts even worse than shown above. This is why I would suggest revlar paper or similar. I have had a pk on revlar soaking for over a year and its still perfectly readable.

  Two years here under water....

Edit:. One thing I do for all my loaded items is use water proof paper and have the private key in qr and alphanumeric format as well. I noticed some coin makers only have a qr code for their private keys IIRC.  What happens to that should it smudge or something like this happens? That's why I do both to make sure that issue never arises

Ok so here is my question…I bought a box of 12….will be keeping this sealed for now.

Is there an expiration on when I can redeem any redemption card? So if I decide to open in 2 years time and redeem?

Also would love to know how many redemptions are left out there not claimed. Anyway to find this out? Thanks!
