Lots of members are OG for me. When I see people registered in 2011 or 2013...  When I see legendary status...  And I like to read old Casascius' thread or The Laszlo Pizza's thread or the "10,000 BTC Auction" (starting bid 50 USD... one day it will be 10,000 satoshi for 50 USD). Bitcointalk is amazing... As a lot of people here I have the collector bug: Vintage Nasa Photographs, Art, Stones, .... I have some 90's swiss stamps or some silver Federer Coins that I am ready to trade for BTC....  Stay humble and stack sats or cas'. Frank it would seem that you have already figured out (and quite quickly at that) that just because you're a Legendary member here, it doesn't mean a hill of beans ( or however that saying goes). The fact of the matter is there is a whole army of Hero and Legendary members here who are complete and utter buffoons who don't have a freaking clue about what they are doing or talking about. However I do like bitcointalk a lot, and I'm glad I was able to guide you here my friend  Agree...and what about legendary accounts that are sodl? Anyone can be behind those as well. |

I think they are....for example if you take a godl coin loaded with btc, not only do you have physical godl but also digital godl in one place! And that applies to all loaded items, as their value changes not only with the collectable item itself but also with the value of bitcoin. Unique! |

i have also had the passion for collecting since i was ~8 years young... i started with stamps, which my grandma and grandpa bought me from a philatelist and then i started collecting coins - i still have all the collectibles (stamps as well as coins), but i stopped collecting a long time ago. i have now started collecting cryto collectibles and lately also crypto artworks Yes stamps was a big thing in my time...I went from any type of stamp to then specializing in collecting only inverted center stamp errors of the world. Still have and cherish my invert collection alongside my crypto collectables. |

I was mining in 2010-2011 time period but I was not into any collectibles back then - sadly. I wish I had been.
I see a lot of people say this, but had you been into collectibles at the time you may feel differently (probably not but here’s the dumb argument I hear a lot). I’ve seen quite a few people make the argument that buying Casascius coins for ~$20 back then was stupid, because you would have gotten more money had you just kept your BTC. Many people here are dense enough to even consider that a loss. Sure, the $50 I spent for my half a million dollar Casascius coins is one of the best investments of my life, but I’m not lying, there are users here who think that’s an investment loss because BTC has risen more in that time period. Just check out my trust rating from ibminer. With idiots like that in the community who call a half million dollar gain a loss and torment the makers of these products, why would they stick around? I have always had the collectors bug running thru me...starting with stamps as a kid. When I came across bitcoin and then heard of Casascius, it got me into physical bitcoin collectables as well as any early wallets and historical bitcoin items. I dont see ANYTHING bought being a loss, as I allocated a certain amount for pure BTC hodling and certain amount of fiat for rare collectables. So I look at it as getting rid of paper fiat for Bitcoin history that I get to own and hodl in my Citadel |

What is an OG collector, anyway? I bought a couple dozens of Casascius from Mr. Mike Caldwell himself at end of 2012. Am I an OG?  Yes :-) -Dave Hmmmmm...I didn't buy a couple dozen but did buy one silver/gilt from Mike himself in 2013...what does that make me? LOL Is there a time frame and quantity a person must have bought to be labeled an OG?  P.S. and I am not a whale either |

Jupp, that seems unbeatable. Not in the official 'on the forum' ranking, but I remember somebody paying 10.000 BTC for 2 Pizzas worth 20 bucks or so back in 2010... compared to the price of BTC at that time (let's say: defined by this very trade) the 'premium' in miner fees isn't worth mentioning, not at all... albeit: best overall performance ever on that 'tip' in whole of BTC. Or did I miss something in my hypothesis?
