Also when was the account compromised? This is essential information for people to know as this account may have handed of compromised files.

Furthermore, I am especially interested in who was controlling the account the past few months and logging in every few hours and not responding to any thread, post, PM or email ever.

AFAIK, logging into bitcointalk has always been issue while traveling in some countries like China.

So dev team had setup a script on VPS to forward any new post on this thread and PMs to their email.

About when the account was compromised, I think just within this last few days (if not today).
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTR] vTorrent - Share with freedom | 2FA | HD | @Bittrex on: October 11, 2017, 05:56:50 PM
Dear all,

vTorrent dev contacted me that they are having difficulties logging into this forum since they are working in Korea/China weeks ago.

And for some reason, the email linked to the account have been changed.

So during this time, please don't trust any PMs or messages post by 'vtorrent' account.

If anyone need to contact the dev team, please email them directly at vtorrent.crypto@gmail.com

Cheers,
pnoch

edit: I never started any ICOs, and my recommendation is to stay clear from any new ICOs related to torrent (or file-sharing) especially those claiming to have near finish product.

Wat?! Please don't tell me the wat lady died  Sad

I just stumbled upon this coin and it certainly seems interesting but can someone please confirm that it is totally open source code? I ask because I saw some comment a couple of pages back about it being closed source but I'm pretty sure that was just FUD.

Also, what's with that other coin, vidz something? Are these 2 coins competing or are there just some similarities?

Thanks!

yeah you know the "security" features like 2fa are closed source and who knows what else "to prevent theft" but even if there isn't anything malicious in there, it's a bit delusional to think people would want to run a closed source program to manage their money or assets.

Wat?! Please don't tell me the wat lady died  Sad

Yup she didn't survive 2016.

Devs have the torrent as closed source for now...

Basically they don't want thieves stealing code, but i heard it will be open source once they establish themselves.

Purevidz is a completely different... like apples to oranges comparison and by oranges i mean dildos. They aren't even close to the same yet trolls from Purevidz keep coming here.

the problem with open sourcing the 2fa isn't to prevent theft, it's that with it being open source it makes the 2fa pointless because the whole point of it is that there is a "secret" that "secret" is only suppose to be known by your secondary device, usually your phone. In this case though, the "secret" is derived from the password you use to decrypt the wallet meaning with the source being open, you can see how to compute that secret.

therefore if you know the wallet password, and how to compute the secret, you can compute the secret, produce yourself a new QR code and scan it and viola you have access to their 2fa now too!! so secure!!

Please stop posting a complete non-sense about 2FA such as that it will be pointless after open-sourced. You should get yourself some more knowledge on encryption and security system design before thinking you know all about VTR 2FA implementation with your cute imagination.

It is not far from saying Bitcoin security is completely pointless since it is open sourced.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTR] vTorrent - Share with freedom | 2FA | HD | @Bittrex on: December 16, 2016, 11:27:59 AM
has anyone actually tried compiling the windows wallet version of VTR with OTP_ENABLED? Is it not the same as their release? It's missing all the OTP stuff on their GitHub like askpassphrasedialog_otp.cpp etc... that's references when OTP_ENABLED is set.

LMAO.
Hmm good sir, what happened to "Fuck this thread. Im out." ? Please stay true to your word at least Wink
I felt the obligation to do the due dilligence other people don't do of actually seeing of their real code is on Github, am I such a bad person?  Roll Eyes

has anyone actually tried compiling the windows wallet version of VTR with OTP_ENABLED? Is it not the same as their release? It's missing all the OTP stuff on their GitHub like askpassphrasedialog_otp.cpp etc... that's references when OTP_ENABLED is set.

LMAO.

So you were trying your best tickering around hoping to take vTorrent's 2FA awesomeness to your purevidz?

Im glad VTR dev keep 2FA from hopeless dev and people like you.

if you don't see the obvious problem with the danger in the wallet you're running being closed source you're either a bag holder, a socket puppet or just an idiot

i wanted to see if the implementation is as pathetic as what i think it is which makes the point of 2FA completely pointless... see gauth requires a "secret" so the question is where is this secret being stored and how?  i'm almost willing to bet that the gauth secret is simply stored encrypted by using your original passphrase, and then the decryption key for the wallet is probably something simple like the original passphrase concatenated with the gauth secret.

As long as there's some way to get the secret from the original passphrase/machine it sorta makes 2FA pointless. In other words, willing to bet that 2fa/otp is bypassable and useless but hey, it's the closed source life? Smiley

If i've over looked something then feel free to point me to the implementation on Github cause as far as I can see the files are missing.

dukeneptun, you are an idiot who try to fud on VTR's 2FA for being unsecured without any kind of proof, and VTR is completely open source since anyone could freely build a wallet just without 2FA.

If you really think VTR's 2FA is that pointless and its implementation is really as pathetic as you think it is then you should have no problem cracking my 2FA secured wallet but I'm willing to bet that you wont be able to do shit spending your entire life trying.

If you are willing to proof that you are not an idiot, left us an email, then I will send you my wallet.dat with password  for you to crack.

No need to hide it PMs we all know nothing is actually working there...  Cheesy

Your turning into VTR'S residential troll.

You clearly see potential,  I bet you got a few hundred thousand coins also.

I wish that was true.  Sad

But I do like to troll some shitcoins and scams from now and then  Wink

So, VTR is shitcoin and scams? How?

What kind of shitcoin and scams would need to develop and release feature such as 2FA?
Which dev obviously know that it would not exactly pump up the price but only to make sure of its users security.

IMO what is shitcoin and scams? just search the forum for something with plenty of pre-mine with no true development such as this one

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608804.0

500 million premine with no real development, now that's more like it.

learn your shit before come back talking trash again.

sorry i didn't respond to that, but yeah @bigtimespaghetti  I'm using it, it works great!  also gekko said he downloaded it and that it worked like a charm.

Thanks Krypto Superdog  Smiley

I'm actually working on Bitcoin wallet with 2fa (using google authenticator) which I will also make one for Unobtanium but I will have to keep it closed source until I am able to reach my goal in raising further development money from selling it to users who needs better security with their wallets.

Cheers!

Took a few hours to port my project to UNO wallet Cool

I will release a trial version soon for anyone who wants to be my beta tester.

Cheers!

Could someone with a Mac download and try the new Electrum wallet for Mac?  Gekko, you game for that?
https://cryptap.us/uno/electrum/

If it works like the Windows version it should make the Mac users very happy. It disintermediates users from conf files and all of that other stuff they don't want to see.

i downloaded it, but there's no app to launch included in the download...just a bunch of odd files and folders

upon quick glance, it seems that everything required for the app is there, but i'm not sure how to make it happen.  and i can guarantee that any possible workaround is going to be much more intimidating to a basic user than dropping a .conf file in the unobtanium folder to get QT to sync.

Here's Unobtanium Mac wallet with different flavor (BlueMan designed) plus zero configuration.

This looks awesome! I hate to blindly download though, anyone else tried this slick looking storage?

I have always give support for UNO's Mac users since the beginning with all of my build, but please be sure to check your download with include MD5 hash.

I know most of you don't use OSX, but could you all please consider sending at least 1 or 2 UNO to pnoch.  regardless of what OS you use, having a functional mac wallet is very important to our community.  pnoch is doing this work proactively and I'd really like for him to be rewarded for his efforts so that he doesn't get discouraged figuring no one values his contribution.

I just sent 5kg more, but please, I can't be the only one to contribute here.  another 1kg from each of the active members of the community would be a decent amount at very little cost to you, but huge benefit to Unobtanium as a whole.

Thank you Krypto Superego for your support!

Thanks.  I'm using El Capitan OSX 10.11

I just tried installing the blue one instead but got an error message that said "Unobtanium-Qt cannot be opened because of a problem."

Anyone else having a problem syncing the wallet?  I can't get passed block 266752.  I have updated to the most recent OSX wallet, although I did notice there were two different types of OSX wallets available.  My wallet is showing my UNO balance appropriately, but does not seem to be downloading the rest of the blockchain transactions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

no problems here...which OSX wallet are you using?

try this one, just released last week:

yeah, Blazr2's "bluechist" build for OSX has never worked for me or anyone else; we should really remove that from our frontpage and website.  The above wallet worked out-of-the-box for me, but i'm still currently using OSX Mavericks.

keep us updated on this issue, please.

It should works with any OSX version but I'll test my wallet with El Capitan tonight and will fix any compatibility issue if there is one.

Mac wallets are currently nowhere to be found:

http://unobtanium.uno/download/Unobtanium-Bluechist.dmg

404's out.

10.0 not synching anymore.
Try  again, http://unobtanium.uno/download/Unobtanium-Bluechist.dmg

Sorry I accidentally broke the link during an update. Will try to do better testing going forward.

Still not working.  Same.  404's out.

10.0 still shows "No Block Source Available".

This is getting scary.

I don't know what "Bluechist" is all about, but what is wrong with my build?

After a bit of refresher in QT and the new branch of code I present to you all a few Un Updates:

Windows 32/64bit: https://23skidoo.info/Unobtanium-blueschist.zip
MD5: 5cf15731739b9059fb2c3c8760d342a1
Mac: Coming soon - need to upgrade my Mac build environment for QT5
Github: https://github.com/thegreatoldone/Unobtanium

Changes vs. Bryce's latest are mostly cosmetic and verbiage changes to make the Vault look like it was intended to look. Sorry, not a fan of the yellow at all, Un is obviously blue Wink I also quite like the idea of changing the wallet radically with some new graphics, but wanted to get this working version out before I dig in to QT5 too far and to be satisfied with the new method of building clients. The QR window URI is correctly formatted in this version, so building an Android client from it should have superior results. Gramweighting is back but the 0.10.x branch code is a bit different than the 0.9.x generation and I'll need a bit more time with the 9th digit.

I will submit these changes as a pull request soon to the Un Official github. Please let me know if you have any issues with it and since BTCTalk won't let me put an Un addy in my sig, if you'd like to send some Un to me: uVjbsx6tAhySeJpN7xLBieAzWcD7rEVmYp

Correct me if I am wrong, but the 9th digit of UNO wallet was always merely 'cosmetic'.

I could build one with cosmetic 9th digit right now but it seems pointless to have it there.

Everyone be sure to update to the .10 wallet.  I had some transactions that didn't come through, I downloaded the entire blockchain again and the coins still weren't there, but I didn't realize I wasn't on the new wallet.  When I came here and saw the update, I got the new wallet and my transactions showed up.

On the downside, I no longer have any kilograms of Unobtanium.  Just UNO.  Which is fine unless you speak Spanish and someone asks you for "uno uno".

My version of wallets fixed this issue.

nice!!  for once, OSX users have the newest version first!!  hahaha, my logo is so blue and pretty!  oh, and the microscope; what a joy!

Is there wallet on Chinese?
We don't have a wallet yet with a Chinese installer that defaults to Chinese language.

But there is Chinese menu support in the wallet.

This is true but all of the translation is still wrong, everything translate to 'bitcoin' instead of 'unobtanium'.

I will try to work on it once I have time.
