561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many ways are there to earn bitcoins? on: April 10, 2017, 05:59:05 AM
From my perspective, I think listing ways to earn bitcoin for new members here is not really useful, they may understand partly what most of you mean, but simply they are just too fresh to use them.

That is the reason why I think we should have seen more threads in technical help section because they should know that bitcoin is not cheap, and it is basically not possible to get it for free.

Nobody should get into bitcoin with idea to not spend any money on it, unless you seriously have some useful skills which you may offer on service section or at least decent rank here.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: April 09, 2017, 06:09:58 PM
When firstly I heard about bitcoins I thought its just a scam and will eat away my money but when my friend showed me the proof of his earnings that made me to start having faith in bitcoins and then even I started to research about different ways of earning it.
I wonder when did that happen? It was long time ago, or it has happened short in the past?
The times when bitcoin was considered as a "scam" was like 2010/2011 I guess?

Obviously, people still say that cryptocurrecies is a one big pile of shit which can only harm your wallet and your bank account, but i guess everyone here knows that is not the true.
Cryptocurrencies are made mostly for adding another payment method however many of them meet specified target, that is also the reason why we can spot so many new coins at the stage of developing.

Im sure we may hear in some time that cryptos are scam, just because some shitcoin robbed many people and it means that all cryptos are like this, right?
Thats the funny perspective my friend told me about, I think that we will hear it many times ( in regular media ) that bitcoin is collapsing / is a scam / it is made for stupid people.

The society cannot understand that blockchain technology is a goddamn revolution in the financial sector.
563  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Again the attack again Muslim. on: April 09, 2017, 05:57:53 PM
I live in a country, where we dont have many muslims on the streets, and most importantly, we basically do not have any terrorist attempts, which makes me very happy.
I need to say to all of you, that I dont even care anymore about all these attacks in the Europe, because there are so many and so often, that it feels like a regular thing in countries like France or Germany.
But we can see attempts spreading all over the europe, slowly but steady.
In my opinion this is due to immigrant crisis going on, and nobody wants to stop this madness.

What is your point of view Europeans? Are you scared of ongoing jihad war at the old continent?
You should be, because the governments don't want to do anything about it.
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 main mistakes of Bitcoin newbies on: April 09, 2017, 04:43:14 PM
Lovely piece here. Especially about the faucets. There is no bigger waste of time than faucets
Bitcoin Faucets are a nice source of income if the drips are used in a wise manner. I've noticed people building faucet bots that filled in Captcha's automatically and they would just collect the coins that they made and cashout whenever they could.
That's an easy money technique that someone could use on the side without doing much work.
I think that you'd be pretty surprised at the amount of people that are using Bitcoin Faucet bots online.
Obviously, the captcha bot is something great for all faucet site, but it doesnt make sense to even try it manually.
Moreover, you need to have coding experience / be a coder to build some automated programme like that, im sure it is not so easy as it looks, because that could pretty much generate never-ending income- obviously in case of staying in secret, but I doubt that the faucet devs would not know about this for a long time.

Im pretty sure that most of newbies mistakes are putting their own money ( converted to btc before that ) into particular sites like HYIP, cloudmining, ponzi's, MLM etc.
In my opinion, as a newbie in this cryptocurrency world you should totally stay away of investing, unless you want to lose your money.
First educate and gain knowledge about bitcoin and cryptos generally, then start thinking how can you monetize your abilities.
565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Ban on: April 09, 2017, 04:35:58 PM
What will cause a government to ban bitcoin in the country? In what circumstances will that be justified by the government?
And how can government actually ban bitcoin? I mean they can ban people selling or buying stuff with bitcoin in the country, can they actually ban people from holding bitcoin?

I believe that none government will ban bitcoin but if has any decide to do something like that will do for the following reasons:
1. The cental bank of this country will be fear that citizens will stop to support local fiat currency
2. Government will loose the control because there is no way to control btc

Imo, there is no country who cannot actually ban btc but she can create many barriers if anyone wants to use it, like as:
1. Very strict policies to local exchanges
2. Unnecessary bureaucracy and procedures to anyone businessman wishes to transact with bitcoin
3. Information campaigns against bitcoin

Well, i think that some of your points are actually right, however I have to say that i cannot agree with some of them.
First, I dont have idea what influence of bitcoin being banned could have on fiat currency, it is really unlikely to see that the locals would boycott the fiat currency usage because of harmful cryptocurrency rights.
Secondly, losing control about what?
The government control printing paper money, also the law however bitcoin is totally separate from regular fiat money, it is totally a different thing.
Bitcoin will live even when it is going to be banned in every country in the world ( which is pretty much impossible )

But I agree with you about the barriers that government can build on the way of cryptocurrency, imagine just forbidding crypto exchanges.
That would be a huge strike into crypto trading in specific country, the only way would be to trade it face-to-face, and you can't even know if the guy you make the trade with, isn't from police right?

They can try to block bitcoin, but they cannot erase it no matter what.
566  Economy / Economics / Re: It's Time To Get Painfully Honest: Banks Are Evil on: April 08, 2017, 04:42:38 AM
Banks aren't evil by themselves.
What is really the root of evil here isn't money. It is fractional reserve.

When you deposit $1 into the bank, guess what happens to the money?
1. The bank takes out 90% of that money.
2. The bank lends it to someone else that you don't even know about.
3. The bank charges them like 4% interest for that loan, and only gives you 1 or 2%.
4. That person goes and buys a house, driving the house bubble even more upwards.
5. You decide that you want to own a house as well.
6. You go to the auction and win. Guess what, you have successfully purchased a house that was purchased with the money you loaned to the bank in the first place!!!

And this is why houses are so damn expensive these days.
But all bubbles will burst, and when it bursts all people who have invested their life savings into housing will be crying.

That's why you don't have fractional reserve, and switch to bitcoin.
567  Economy / Services / Re: [Accepting Offers] Renting my avatar and/or signature space on: April 08, 2017, 04:28:00 AM
The reason I made my own thread is because most signature campaigns seem to have all the legendary spots filled already.

This one still open for your rank https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1816787.0
Have you tried that?
You can earn 0.052 btc monthly in that campaign if i'm not wrong. Or try Rollin.io campaign, they are still have 2 spots open

Thanks, I haven't seen that one. I think the one for Rollin only had lower level member slots available, or at least it was like that last time I checked.

Thanks for your help! Smiley

Actually, you should really check out this campaign: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1491815.0
It's run by Namworld and Coinroll so you don't need to worry about them not paying you. They are one of the few dice sites that have come from a long time ago that is still up and running, and advertising.

As a legendary member with +20 trust, I'm sure they will be able to accept you.

Their campaign is proven to run long term, already have run for almost a year I believe.
Also you get around 3000*0.0005 which is more than $1.5 a day just by doing nothing, as they count existing posts and they pay you for it.
But the rates they offer for new posts aren't that good after the price hike.

Hope i helped you a little!

And how can government actually ban bitcoin? I mean they can ban people selling or buying stuff with bitcoin in the country, can they actually ban people from holding bitcoin?

They can't ban people from holding bitcoin.
Bitcoin can literally be held without any proof, People are able to literally store their private key in their brain by memory(although, this is really a bad idea if you are thinking of doing it), use a salted brainwallet, or even engrave it in some secret code that nobody knows about on metal.

So tell me, how are governments going to find out about these people owning bitcoin? It's impossible.

What is possible is limiting people depositing fiat onto bitcoin exchanges in their country. They can require lots of ID and proof of the origin of the funds(think what China is doing right now), and basically cause a panic for bitcoiners in that country.

They can also limit your accounts on a centralised exchange, like Coinbase.
So make sure you don't use that, hold your own private keys!!!
569  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin changes finance - but for the better or the worse? on: April 08, 2017, 12:34:57 AM
Bitcoin offers an alternative to traditional (fiat based) finance.

There's no interest that's inherent in this system. There's no mechanism for easy lending. There's no money supply manipulation. There's no lending off of a balance sheet (only) asset, i.e., imaginary money.

Does Bitcoin offer a positive evolution to finance? If so, how?

You can look at it in many perspectives.

The government, the bankers, and the average Joe.

The government, no need to say. They are the ones that controls the entire system and "makes sure it runs smoothly". They are the ones that manipulate every variable like the interest rate and the monetary supply. They are the ones that are on top of the hierachy. They hate bitcoin because it takes that control away from them - sure, they can get a shit ton of mining devices and start mining, but that costs a shit ton of money, and if they print too much money, the whole thing will spiral out of control and their scheme will be worthless.

The bankers, next level down, they profit from fractional reserve lending practices. This is not possible with bitcoin, which means that they will have to either switch business models or go out of the business. The money transmitters as well, they will go out of business because bitcoin can be sent anywhere across the globe without having to add extra fees.

The average Joe should really benefit if we all started using bitcoin. It is a store of value, most importantly. Which means that they don't need to worry about their money losing value in the long term. But we have to accept bitcoin as bitcoin, but not as the value of fiat that is behind that bitcoin. Once we achieve that, then that's true adoption.
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please give me some advice , whats the best choice of GTX card now? (ROI) on: June 16, 2015, 03:42:28 PM
For the time being, it is better to buy used 7970 cards, undervolt and under clock to mine Quark. You can reduce the memory speed to very long, around 300MHz to save electricity. Quark mining does not require memory bandwidth. It is profitable for perelectricity price up to $0.2 per kWh. I do not know how long the profit will last as it depends on the price of single coin (Shark coin, SAK). If SAK price collapse, then there is no profitable mining for most people with high electricity price.
you made your point though i dont like AMD cards.

Is your wallet.dat encrypted?

And the security as of now is essentially the same as keeping your cash in a shoebox [encrypted wallet is like a safe] - if someone breaks into your house they can steal it. The holding security against such issues will be solved with the Coinshield Exchange, in which there will be many options to store your money in a safe location - with a physical face and business to verify.

Thank You,
Viz.
No, its not encrypted . I could not open my wallet and it drove me crazy.

Try to clear your appdata [leave wallet.dat]. Then open again - does it have the same issue?

Thank You,
Viz.
still crashed Cry , I had tried serveral times.

Whenever that happens for me or whenever I get a new version of the wallet I save my wallet.dat to another location.

I completely remove the CoinShield AppData folder.

I then remove any and all versions of the CoinShield wallet from my system.

Then I get and start the new version of the wallet and close it before it starts syncing.

Then I replace the wallet.dat in the CoinShield AppData folder with a copy of my backup wallet.dat.

Finally I open the new version again and let it sync.

This always works for me.

This is actually the process I do with every crypto currency wallet and I never have issues.

I know it's a long process but it's better then trying small fixes and constantly getting errors Wink .

I know that im the minority but i still hope my property(CSD coins) got protected as same as my USD in bank. Honestly , one of the main reason why BTC ship started to sink is that the BTC itself is not that as secure as USD in my opinion with disasters such as MTGOX Mintpal in recent months. Anyway, im one of the first group of miners in CSD , i hope thatt it could be a success.
