341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]INNOVA - when security is the main focus. ASIC resistance. Neoscrypt coin. on: April 15, 2018, 05:41:58 PM
For a long time did not come here, and what I saw shocked me. I still remember the time when innovation was one of the most profitable liquid coins in the ratings of the masternodes with a price of $ 10, and now I see one void here. Perhaps admins are active in other channels, for example, a discord?

Price is less then half now. Therare BIG typos in their roadmap. Devs are not active here. It just shows the seriousness of this coin.

After upgrading to 0.5-43 from 0.5-32 my temp. have increased by a few degrees but hasrate slightly increased and very stable now. Does that makes any sense ?

What are the most Underrated and most Overrated cryptocurrencies according to you.
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XFX RX 470 RS. Should I buy it in now ? on: April 14, 2018, 07:08:11 AM
I'd say the price is extremely high and it is just not worth it, cause you can buy
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814126189&cm_re=rx570-_-14-126-189-_-Product
just 300$ and that is RX570 which is better.. but anyhow based on price and cost of new eth asics,  gpu should cost around 100$ ...
It costs more to my as I am not from US. Shipping and custom adds another $100-150.

But yeah, I am not buying it. I realized that if I am gonna waste my money, i'd rather waste it on Nvidia since it is still safer due to many algos.

AMD is not going to release any new GPU this year, so after Nvidia releases volta AMD cards will be selling for less then msrp.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Melted the PSU cable and riser adaptor... on: April 14, 2018, 07:02:14 AM
I experienced the same problem 7 months ago, every single month I bought a PSU to replace it up to 3 months 3 PSU. I've been frustrated with that the problems, all the ways I have been done for the fix including advice members like above.

finally, I have found a problem is an electrical voltage in my home not stable (after using a watt meter like Kill A Watt Meter in the USA) because of a cable used not corresponding a procedure or standard for electricity voltage used after the electrician replaced the cable, Mining Rig back to normal and the PSU or USB Riser cable never melt again.
Which cable did electrician replaced ? I want to know this as voltage is not stable in my house too.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hive OS - new Linux GPU mining platform on: April 14, 2018, 06:45:48 AM
Ever since upgrading yesterday, my miner has completely stopped working. Seems like it is not attempting to connect to the pool anymore and for some reason thinks the wallet address is the IP/host? I haven't changed any configuration settings at all.

Yes since the update I am getting "gpu gave incorrect result" error.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HELP: Temperature high in custom closed air rig on: April 13, 2018, 09:38:51 PM
Another way is to try to lower down room temperature! It actually helps a lot for closed rigs

I guess that in some cases that would be good thing to do. But in OP's case, lowering room's temperature is not necessary. At some point he can do that, but it would require more money. On the other hand, he can install few exhaust fans and his problem will be solved for less money. Not to mention that electricity consumption of AC and exhaust fans is not the same.

Of course if I had the money and place for AC then there would be no need for making it a closed rig. People are saying to lower the room temp like it's very easy. I would have already done it if there was a way. I am gonna another fan in front and see what happens.

One thing for sure I will never make another closed rig. Money spent on fans and sheet and my labour + more electricity bill + more noise = not worth it.

But my rig looks badass.

Word of advice, next time before you decide doing something, take some time and research a bit more about the thing you are interested in. That way you will prevent most of mistakes.
But I don't think you made big mistake with this choice. It will require some money for more fans yes, but at the end all of that invested effort will pay out. Also, I guess you wanted closed rig for a reason and not only because it looks badass  Grin

Yes absolutely but it was not a big investment anyway, hardly $33 total for fans and fiber sheet. I bought 3 intake fans and used only 2 so I will use the remaining one as an additional exhaust. I underestimated the amount of heat generated by GPUs as I thought that the small exhaust fan was made for bathroom so it will definitely get the job done for a small rig(compared to size of bathroom).

The project will be a success anyway. My max GPU temp was 54C at 55% fan speed and now it is 59C at 59% fan speed during afternoon(38C). It will protect from dust and my room already feels cool because all of the heat goes out of the window from exhaust.

349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / XFX RX 470 RS. Should I buy it in now ? on: April 13, 2018, 02:15:16 PM
Hi guys, I am getting a offer for brand new XFX RX 470 RS 4g for approx $350. Should I buy it even though Bitmain will release ethash miner. Once they are sold out I won't be able to get them at this price again. The closest I will get will be $446 for RX 570 4gb or $453 for  RX580 4gb.

I could buy 6 or 12 cards. What do you think or should I wait for Nvidia cards.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please rate this desperated setup on: April 13, 2018, 07:11:44 AM
If you are going to do it don't use Nicehash as they give you less profit. Just download the miner software like ethminer for ethereum or ccminer for other algorithms.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HELP: Temperature high in custom closed air rig on: April 12, 2018, 09:18:45 PM
Just today I transformed my 12*1050ti tower rig (6 on each side) into closed air rig with one exaust and 2 intake fans
But to my surprise the temperature of gpus increased by 4 Celsius. What could be wrong ? My exaust is very powerful and so are my two intake fans. So the pressure should be fine. My rig is still not completely vaccum. There are many big holes that needs to be filled. Will making it completely vaccum decrease the temp ?

If you want a closed air rig to work you need powerful fans that provide enough pressure to keep a constant air flow.

Basically you need a bunch of industrial fans as push and pull and need them to cover most of the case space.
Aww man, then what is the use of a closed air rig ? I thought it would decrease my gpu temp and reduce dust. Looks like money and time wasted. Temp. up by 6 Celsius. But I see guys making closed air rigs with no intake fans getting good results on YouTube.

354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Intel developing new dedicated GPUs !!! on: April 12, 2018, 10:32:33 AM
Hope this new GPU will be very good in mining.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2018/04/11/intel-is-developing-a-desktop-gaming-gpu-to-fight-nvidia-amd/amp/

"Intel Is Developing A Desktop Gaming GPU To Fight Nvidia, AMD

It’s no secret Intel wants to return to the dedicated GPU market, but we were previously led to believe its plan would revolve around designing a GPU for data centers. Those plans, however, will be extended to the PC gaming space to compete with the duopoly of Nvidia and AMD by the year 2020.

Intel signaled their intent to re-enter the dGPU market for the first time in roughly 20 years with the hiring of former Radeon Technologies Group boss and chief architect Raja Koduri last December. For more proof, simply peek at the whopping 102 graphics-centric jobs the juggernaut chipmaker is hiring for.

The project, widely reportedly under the codename Arctic Sound, was originally conceived as a standalone project targeted at data centers. However, Motley Fool analyst Ashraf Eassa recently tweeted that Koduri is splitting Arctic Sound into two distinct parts:

"Bonus: Apparently @Rajaontheedge is redefining Arctic Sound (first Intel dGPU), was originally targeted for video streaming apps in data center, but now being split into two: the video streaming stuff and gaming. Apparently wants to “enter the market with a bang.”

— Ashraf Eassa (@TMFChipFool) April 6, 2018

[Clarification: This technically won't be Intel's first dGPU. Its first was the Intel i740.]

Eassa confirmed this with multiple sources, and I spoke independently with a source of my own to back up this statement. I’m confident this is more than rumor and speculation.

We’ve seen recent efforts by Intel to paint a more positive picture of their graphics prowess (or lack thereof if we’re being honest with each other), Kaby Lake G being a prime example. The flagship PC boasting that part, bolstered by AMD’s integrated Radeon Vega graphics, can deliver 1080p gaming on Ultra settings in a system half the size of an Xbox One or PS4, blowing past Nvidia’s GTX 1050 Ti (itself a dedicated gaming GPU) and AMD’s recent Ryzen desktop processors with integrated Vega graphics.

Kaby Lake G also puts Intel’s previous integrated HD graphics to shame, and that’s an image the company surely wants the public to view in a different light over the next few years.

ExtremeTech’s Joel Hruska offers more insight into Intel’s history of integrated graphics and their ability to design dedicated GPUs here.

This revelation does call into question how long the unusual partnership between Intel and AMD will last. Right now incorporating Vega graphics into Intel’s CPU lineup makes sense for both companies, but the presence of Koduri will allow Intel to both develop competitive gaming GPUs, and evolve their own integrated graphics solutions.

Koduri is currently working closely with Intel engineers to develop a longterm roadmap for graphics.

One thing I’m absolutely certain of: if you think about the impact of Nvidia’s GeForce Partner Program on the competitive landscape, as well as AMD’s weak GPU roadmap over the next couple years (do they have anything to combat Nvidia’s Turing architecture this year?), there is no better time for a third competitor to crash the party.

Simply put, many inside and outside the industry are concerned that Nvidia is slowly and shrewdly shaping itself into a monopoly.

I will emphasize that none of this is confirmed by Intel (nor will they confirm it), but the whispers are pointing to a dedicated Intel gaming GPU near 2020. There’s no question Intel has the cash, R&D resources and manpower to pull this off. The big question is how exactly they will “enter the market with a bang.” It will take an outstanding product right out of the gate, aggressive and clever marketing, and healthy dose of patience."

every popular algo really.

where there is money, there is china... oh i mean bitmain. but yeah, china.

hahahaha.....such a racist comment.   Must be a trump support!

It's funny how Trump rage a trade war with china because majority of his clothing line (if its still there) were all made in china!   Does that mean he's raising tariffs on himself if he's still got his clothing line?

nah, china is taking over the Philippines due to its dumb president. china is greedy in nature, thats evident. i dont support anyone. i dont care with your presidents neither.

God created Adan and Eve, the rest, made in china.

A trump supporter was a joke...

Human are greedy in nature.  If it wasn't for greed.   Manufacturers wouldn't move their business to 3rd world countries.  I actually like Duterte, despite what media says about him or what he did but he's doing a lot what other presidents couldn't do before (get rid of corruptions, drugs or whatever).
No need to make this thread political but yes I too like Duerte. He has a backbone unlike most presidents and wants to do good for his country.

You DO know that ETC is an ethash coin, and therefore the E3 WILL mine it?

Yes but as you said that it won't hurt eth mining much. I want to know your opinion about mining etc if could be more profitable in future or long term.

Have you solved your coins getting accidentally forked problem ? I see that it happened a lot of time due which a lot miners lost their time and money. What have you done for it and can you gurantee that it won't happen again.
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: India Bans Crypto Currencies on: April 08, 2018, 11:38:43 AM
Regulators in various countries around the world are now focusing on the virtual currency because of its very dynamic price movement and the various suspicious activities associated with it. Because the virtual currency is not protected or supervised by the government, some authorities are concerned that virtual currency will be used for criminal activities such as money laundering. In India alone, the growth of virtual currency users is quite rapid. Reportedly, there are currently hundreds of thousands of users of virtual currency in the country.
In a country like India, the numbers are probably in millions.
