MtGox isn't gone, and they're more than likely coming back. Everyone who thinks they're just going to up and leave needs to reassess the situation.
I agree. But with their answers to just packing up without a response and shutting down their site, it is better for them and the entire bitcoin community to leave and not come back. And I apologize for the asshole question and it isn't (just want to know your thoughts) but what proof do you have that they will come back? Empty offices, no reply to calls/emails, no answers at Mark's home, no website. I just feel that if they wanted to disappear, they would have. Instead, they released a message on their website and have kept in contact with the public (regardless of how vague it may be at times). They need time to sort things out. I'm just hoping people are able to get their BTC and $$ back. |

So who was the person that originally attempted to withdraw funds from Mt Gox a few weeks ago and created this panic?
I know if I went to withdraw money from Mt Gox and I couldn't noone would give a shit so it had to be someone reputable.
They made an announcement that withdrawals were halted. I don't think it was any one person who raised the flag. |

I'm taking a risk by purchasing some mtgox btc from a user that wants to unload a few. I could wait until Thursday, but I believe the landscape will be much different by then.
I can verify any and all information requested, and am open to suggestions if you're interested in loaning.
I haven't got that much BTC but If I would be you - I would do not take that risk @ MtGox. Be serious  How you will repay if you might wait like months for withdraw  I know it's a risk, but I'm willing to take it. I'd repay with my 1.5BTC that's coming in from Coinbase on Thursday. When Gox started halting withdrawal, someone bought BTC at 500, someone bought it at 400, some at 300......

If anyone is able to do this, I'll fund you however you'd like (USD, BTC, etc). I will pay a premium on the purchase price. Then, once withdrawals open up, you can send them to my address. Alternatively, if MtGox never opens withdrawals and vanishes, I'm prepared to consider it a loss as I know that this is risky.
