1161  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I create a new wallet on Bitcoin Core? on: October 30, 2014, 05:40:15 PM
Can I use that steps in a 2002 laptop?
yes
if you have a old 2002 laptop with bitcoin core running on it
you follow these steps to create a new wallet
laptop model doesn't matters

Is there no specific specs for pc/laptop that I can use?

Is there any specs requirement?
you just need a PC that can run wallet and internet connection
1162  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Going to format my PC - What to do ? on: October 30, 2014, 05:26:20 PM
or the other thing you can do that will simple and easy for you

transfer(deposit) that BTC to your online exchanger account like your BTC-e account (if you don't have one then create an account)
and when you have done formatting and resetting your PC
install electrum and then login to your BTC-e account and withdraw fund to your electrum wallet

it might be easy for your if you don't have technical knowledge
1163  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] 2 EUR AMAZON GIFT CARD on: October 30, 2014, 01:26:34 AM
many users are selling amazon gift cards for 20-30% discount
then why someone will buy a 2EUR gift card for 2.68EUR(0.01BTC)
paying extra 34% of its value
1164  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for members who wants to get paid per post on: October 29, 2014, 05:48:24 PM
0.0005per post is high payment
yes payout rates are too high
and if OP is serious about this compaign then first he should put the fund in trusted escrow
bcoz his trust rating seems very bad
1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Creating an altcoin - services? on: October 29, 2014, 05:44:08 PM
Are they any good services around currently that offer the ability to create a scrypt altcoin for a fixed price? Or reputable devs?

Why do you need one more scrypt altcoin?

There are plenty, just make a thread in the marketplace but be careful not to get ripped off. I also don't see why we need any more crapcoins though. Is yours going to have anything unique or original?

Yes. It's going to be exclusively obtainable through a web-based game. It's not an IPO or gimmick. I just need a digital currency I can distribute automatically via the game, and as I have experience in coding with the bitcoind, a bitcoind-based coin is ideal. Doesn't need to be scrypt, but as I'm not trying to market this to investors/miners, it doesn't need anything fancy. It's just a payout/in-game purchase mechanism.

I really don't have any interest in trying to convince anyone it's the next big thing. It's just for fun.

Nullu, but then you most likely need a PoS coin, otherwise you need to put on some hash power to confirm transactions. If so, then take PPC code or NVC. Feel free to PM me should you have any questions on parameters. I believe it's not a big deal to adjust it to your needs.

How stable are the source for those coins? I know of a couple of POS coins that have ran into some difficulties. Have they been stable long-term? Or been fixed for common POS issues?
it depends on coin dev and coin source code
if you find a good Dev then you can get a perfect working POS coin also Dev will able to help you in future if any error occurs
1166  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Getting Started to not make a profit on: October 29, 2014, 05:41:15 PM
Thanks for the info. Looks like I am five years too late. Looks like if im interested in investing just for the possibility that a BTC might be worth 10,000usd one day, Ill just have to buy them.
or you can do cloud mining or buy some asic hardwares to mine bitcoins
but mining bitcoin with CPU or GPU is not possible now, you are late to the party

1168  Economy / Economics / Re: Was Bitcoin actually just a Pump and Dump? on: October 29, 2014, 05:34:35 PM
as far as I know , some people found Satochi's Bitcoin adresses (created on January 2009 (when bitcoin got created) & it still contain the bitcoins) . he certainly mined the first bitcoins
well i have seen many people claiming that satoshi has 1Million+ bitcoins in his wallet
when i checked the top 100 bitcoin wallets here on this site
http://bitcoinrichlist.com/top100
i found that none address has that much balance

so either this site script is wrong or satoshi didn't have 1M coins (may be already dumped them)

1178  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to earn some quick btc on: October 29, 2014, 10:43:10 AM
there is nothing like quick or easy money in this world
if you want to earn then you have to work

if you got some coding, designing or any other experience then you can start a thread in service section offering your service
and you can earn some money when people buy your service
1179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I create a new wallet on Bitcoin Core? on: October 29, 2014, 10:40:52 AM
if you want to create a new wallet then follow these steps

first of all close bitcoin core
go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin
in this folder you will see a file named wallet.dat
first you take a backup of this(copy it to a safe place)
now either you rename it to something else or remove it

now open your bitcoin core wallet and it will create a new wallet at startup

if you are asking about how to get your password back then forget about this
