I'm saying this in all seriousness: kick the drugs and replace them with daily exercise and lots of water. Really fresh apples can also be a good boost to mental state (if you don't mind apples).

Withdrawal from psychiatric drugs should be done carefully.

That needs to be taken very seriously...certain drugs you need to be weened from (i.e. lithium, someone correct me if I am wrong, that is just what I have been told).  Consult your doctor...let them know you are interested in alternate treatment and see what they can do...if they have no other option...find a new doctor.

"love" "sex" "secret" and "god" do not appear anywhere in those passwords. Hackers lied to me.

Although, can u use quotes in passwords because  "love""sex""secret"and"god" (alloneword) might be a good one to use...lol.

Look, I am not obligated to your time. If you are going to dog me for begging for attention, so be it. That's what I am damn doing because I need advice.

I don't feel like living at all at the moment. If I had an accessible firearm, I would of probably blown out my brains 5 minutes ago in a game of Russian Roullette. Thoughts that are convincing me that existence is not worth playing with are around the context  of part of me believing I am a parasite, that all I do is take from people and never give anything worthwhile back. I feel basically like I have contributed nothing and I always fail at doing so.

I have gotten pretty suicidal infrequently over the past few months. They've put me on these meds -- but all they do is nullify all feeling. They make existence even more pointless for me without the real pain of it all.

Just tell me this will go away over the years. I feel I am gradually going insane. I don't know what factors or cursed genetics caused this but I want to be a stable organism.

Has anyone gone through this and fixed it? Is it just a matter of accepting it?

Go out and give back...write an Instructable showing others something you know how to do...do something good for society without being asked and ask for nothing in return (not even recognition)...find a passion you have and exploit it...but most of all figure out what you want.

I use my depression as a clear sign that I need to make a change in my life somewhere...it might be small...maybe its huge, I cannot pretend to understand what anyone outside of myself is going through in their own head...tough times happen...I have not been fully self sufficient or successful in all of my ventures through life but I still got by and that in itself is still better than death (not trying to say I know what happens after death, I am curious...but not that curious).

Basically, I decided a long time ago one thing...most people on their deathbed regret not living enough...why cut that shorter...go live.

BTW...the only difference between being crazy and eccentric is how much money you have...otherwise they are the same thing...crazy is good sometimes...it would be very boring if we were all the same.

I have been in your boat feeling like I was slipping away with no control...for me I focus on working on something...I do quite a few things so if I am bored I move on to another thing...to some that in itself would drive them crazy but for me its comforting (as is being out of my element intellectually, I find comfort in that difficult feeling when you do not understand something you are learning...once its figured out I have to move on to something new).

i will try that when i have to rebooot the next time Wink

i was wondering if it maybe matters from which material the resistor is made of

It shouldn't unless there is some coating but that would be new to me (and I worked in contract electronics manufacturing).

Just the resistance matters...wattage is of little importance in this case too...I believe mine were either 1/8 or 1/4 watt resistors.

Compare a normal DVI plugs pins...if your resistor lead is not similar size or larger then chances are it won't make proper contact...I bent the lead over itself then its double the size...then it fits nice and tight.
185  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DVI / VGA Dummy Plug Thread on: June 20, 2011, 04:39:25 AM
67.5ohm

i tried that one with 75ohms, but it didn't work out. i wonder if there is anything you can do (i did) wrong while putting the resistor in ^^

It seems some resistor don't work, I got a few 75 and 100ohm from radioshack, and they both worked. But I also ordered a big pack of 75ohm from ebay, and these don't work this way (but works when I use them with a vga converter). It seems the ones I got from ebay are a lot thinner than the radioshack ones though, but they both say 75ohm

Bend the lead over itself so that it doubles up...that is what I had to do with my DVI-Vga ones.

Found the problem...people were wishing again.
187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: please make price go down on: June 19, 2011, 06:13:44 PM
Bring it down to below 1$ once more, so we can all re-live the historic moment and do what we should've done back then.

With your powers I need you on my team...lol. Not minutes after you posted this drops below $1.
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone cashed out on mtgox - price from $17 to $0.01 in minutes! on: June 19, 2011, 06:11:51 PM
How many people had a spreadsheet showing this one...go math...lol.

Lol how many indeed.  $0.01 for a bitcoin? Mining definitely is profitable with those kinds of numbers, right? Lmao.

Like I said before...it can go to 0 and I will turn a profit somehow...I stand by my statement.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone cashed out on mtgox - price from $17 to $0.01 in minutes! on: June 19, 2011, 06:08:32 PM
I put my order in for .01 or .10 in when it was around $5
I set it up to buy 100 coins for $1 each but somehow misplaced the decimal and ended up with nearly 100 coins for $1
the bad part is that everyone else who bought the coins is going to be selling immediately and the price will stay low until they sell out

If what you say is true...you can afford to wait it out.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone cashed out on mtgox - price from $17 to $0.01 in minutes! on: June 19, 2011, 06:05:40 PM
Well crap, that is really going to mess up my graphs.

How many people had a spreadsheet showing this one...go math...lol.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone's cashing out on mtgox - price from $17 to $0.01 in minutes! on: June 19, 2011, 05:56:32 PM
I am waiting for the "I just lost all my btc because I accidentally put .20 instead of 20" thread.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone's cashing out the motherload on mtgox - price from $17 to $3 in minutes on: June 19, 2011, 05:53:39 PM
someone who doesn't give a damn got hold of a large number of coins??

Markets should not let this happen. Bitcoin looks like a joke

I disagree...all markets should be allowed to fail if so inclined...why prop up a dying/dead system...it would suck to see BTC go down but I don't think that is happening...either its a glitch or someone really just shorted the market...either way I think it will recover.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone's cashing out the motherload on mtgox - price from $17 to $3 in minutes on: June 19, 2011, 05:49:47 PM
Am I wrong in thinking they did a massive short sell?
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay Deleting All Bitcoin Listings on: June 19, 2011, 05:48:11 PM
Let's all stop hating on big corporations. At least trade and interaction with them is voluntary. We can moan about Paypal and eBay fees and policies, but both have revolutionized the world and I would argue deserve a fair amount of respect. Silly to hate on a company that coerces nobody. Disagree on policies, yes, but to call them "evil?"  If eBay is evil, what does that make the Federal Reserve?  Wink

Their current incarnation is not what changed the world...the gamechangers are long gone from those companies.  Ebay is evil because they changed the only good thing going for them...the feedback system...to inconvenience the seller, that coupled with increasing fees, little recourse by the seller in the cases of buyer complaints, eliminating alternate payment systems cash/money order especially, there are more things that I am sure more people will point out.

Trade and interaction is voluntary with them...but not individually...by this I mean if you want to use ebay paypal sorta comes with it...but they will tell you they are separate.
195  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Don't listen to all the propagandists. Mining is fine. on: June 19, 2011, 05:36:26 PM
Mining sucks and you guys should totally never check my signature!

Mining is fine. It's following the same trends it always has.

But where are your numbers and spreadshits...don't you need those to be right? Wink
196  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Don't listen to all the propagandists. Mining is fine. on: June 19, 2011, 05:15:37 PM
I do not need numbers...people said the exact same thing you are saying now 6mos ago...mining continues to turn a profit currently.  My OPINION is that speculators (and myself) have no idea.  Proof of this is in the past threads.

It does however make me wonder why you seem so intent on swaying people from mining...I honestly am not trying to get people to do it, I am just pointing out the flaws in most naysayers...always come with a bunch of numbers that do not take into account value increase.

By your logic mining was never profitable...you do know most early adopters were eating their hardware/power cost while everyone was telling them they were stupid and that BTC would never be worth anything...now everyone is saying the only people who can make money are the early adopters...it gets more and more stupid...everyone thinks they can predict the future behavior of a group of humans by using a bunch of hardware/difficulty calculations.

If you are right...great...I still won't care.  It won't change my decision...just as I hope others come to their own conclusions.

NEVER risk anything more than you can afford to lose, ever...and everything has levels of risk.

See for me, I am GPU mining with 1 card.  You can look up my total net worth by copying my signature link and putting it into block explorer.

I am on these forums to discuss rationally and logically with people about bitcoins.  I am not promoting hysteria, but I am also not promoting blind faith.  People who say "I don't need numbers" are the ones I really begin to question.  "It worked in the past!" These logical fallacies are exactly the wrong way to discuss Bitcoins.

You claim that value increase is being discounted, but I specifically asked you to put forth what value increase is necessary to keep things as profitable as you claim they will be.  I see that I cannot engage you in logical discussions, so I will bow out.

Probably a good idea for both of us...I have no numbers (I am speculating...I could be wrong and I still would turn a profit somehow) and I was starting to wonder if I was talking to a machine with an extra goto 10 line in the wrong spot.

i love people who always go all-in with each pair. gotta love them.

I've been in worse boats than this one and come out ahead...I will use the computers for Adobe in my other business if this fails...so they will make me money regardless...I have a gaming rig I have not used in 3 months (not due to bitcoin, I just got in, I have just been to busy to play).

Cool...but how is this new?

I am asking for you to toss out some numbers to back up your claims : )

You can't just say 'I am right' nor 'Others were wrong in the past, therefore I am right'.

What would Bitcoins need to be worth, given a 7,000,000 + difficulty, to be profitable?

I do not need numbers...people said the exact same thing you are saying now 6mos ago...mining continues to turn a profit currently.  My OPINION is that speculators (and myself) have no idea.  Proof of this is in the past threads.

199  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Don't listen to all the propagandists. Mining is fine. on: June 19, 2011, 04:41:04 PM
Not talking about the difficulty increase...they all said mining would stop being profitable by X date...they so far have been wrong...it might be less profitable but still making money.

So, without new hardware hitting the market, and given 6 30-50% difficulty increases from now to mid-late August, you say it will still be profitable to make bitcoins.

That would require the price of bitcoins to match the difficulty rate, right?

So far that isn't exactly happening, since price depends on demand, not difficulty.

Cool...but how is this new?
200  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Don't listen to all the propagandists. Mining is fine. on: June 19, 2011, 04:31:51 PM
Again...most speculator who have stated the exact same thing in the past ended up being wrong.  Always factoring in difficulty increase but always assuming a stagnant or declining value.  Really though nobody knows what will happen.

Can you show me where they were wrong?  The increases in difficulty are shown here:

https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?hl=en&hl=en&key=0AmcTCtjBoRWUdHVRMHpqWUJValI1RlZiaEtCT1RrQmc

6/26  40%
6/15 54%
6/6 30%
5/26 78%
5/18 55%
5/9 43%

I mean really.  The last month has been huge, and you can see that only 2x on that chart has it been negative, and a few negatives are more than cancelled out by 300% and 78% increases, lmao.

Not talking about the difficulty increase...they all said mining would stop being profitable by X date...they so far have been wrong...it might be less profitable but still making money.
