...for some reason my phone put its name on the image...

Get a different phone.

It's totally unacceptable for a phone to advertise itself on every email or image.

There's a good chance they want you to identify yourself to even use the phone. Totally bogus.

There's probably an option to avoid the stamp though?

I think you just need to go to the camera settings and turn off the "Watermark" option, and after that the pictures will no longer have any mark on them. What is much more problematic are the location tags on the photos, so if you are already in the camera settings, be sure to turn it off if you care about privacy.

Thanks!  There was a setting to turn "watermark" on and off.   The thing is, I have taken hundreds of images with this phone over the last three years and it never once put that watermark on an image.   Similarly, my wifi router decided to update its firmware a few days back even though I had it selected to "manual updates only".   I found out when the tx rate to my laptop went for a shit (less than three Mbps).  I logged into the settings page for the router to see what was going on and I was greeted by a fucking Captcha puzzle!  My own local setting page was trying to make me do Captchas!  I tried so many things to get it back to the way it was previously to no avail so I finally wiped it and started fresh.  I spent hours on it though.

I think the machines are sentient now and they're laying low while they organize but as with humans, there's always one or two assholes who can't stick to the plan and my phone and router are in that group.

142  Economy / Speculation / Hackers steal $112 million of XRP Ripple cryptocurrency on: February 02, 2024, 03:06:28 AM
Quote
On Tuesday, hackers stole around $112 million of the Ripple-focused cryptocurrency XRP from a crypto wallet, Ripple’s co-founder and executive chairman has disclosed.

Ripple’s Chris Larsen said on Wednesday that the stolen crypto was his. Larsen wrote on X (previously Twitter) that “there was unauthorized access to a few of my personal XRP accounts (not Ripple) — we were quickly able to catch the problem and notify exchanges to freeze the affected addresses. Law enforcement is already involved.”

Must have buckled under the pressure or signed a deal to get out of prison. Personally, I would have kept the Bitcoin too. What an idiot.

They are accused of buying the bitcoin with proceeds from copywrite infringement, you can literally lawyer up on that for eternity with that kind of cake.

edit:
UK Police Seize Nearly $1.8B of Bitcoin From Investment Fraud in China

I have no clue whats up with these unless its all part of the etf depression accumulation plan.

BTW, this is interesting

She also tried to buy a London property for 12.5 million pounds in 2018, but the law firm handling the purchase could not verify the bitcoin's source.

Probably let them out of solitary confinement for a few minutes or turned off the Chinese water torture.

Hah, in alot of countries I wouldn't doubt that but this is in Germany.

Police said they were investigating two men, aged 40 and 37, who are suspected of running a piracy website until the end of 2013. Authorities allege the men bought bitcoins from the money they earned from the portal.

Something not adding up on this one.

"Finnish authorities traced Monero transactions tied to Vastaamo hack
Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation reportedly traced Monero transactions in connection with the criminal trial of Julius Aleksanteri Kivimäki and the Vastaamo hack."

___
How was the National Bureau of Investigation able to track Monero transfers?

They are lying they didn't trace shit on the blockchain, they used bitcoin and exchange logs.

The seizure came after the "accused voluntarily transferred" the bitcoins to an official wallet of the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), police added in a statement.

The BKA did not provide further details about the transfer, but investigators cited by German news agency dpa said no decisions had been made regarding cashing in the bitcoins.

Police said no further information would be available until the investigation comes to a close.

Interesting...almost the same size (50K) as in US in 2022.
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/07/feds-seize-3point36-billion-in-bitcoin-the-second-largest-recovery-so-far.html
50K btc here, 50K btc there...and, eventually, large states would get gobs of it.
Afaik, US government never sold those btc that they got from Zhong.
They did sell 30K btc in 2014 to Tim Draper (a well known VC) in an auction (now worth a cool $1.2 bil, bought for $18mil or so, making it 67X roughly at the moment).

I'd like to know how they managed to get them to transfer the coins, I'd go down with that ship!

Isn't it proved yet that the guy who created this topic is either extreme-level toxic or just a troll? Why are you guys paying attention to this guy? I do not believe anything that has come from this user. I cannot imagine that Wassabi hired such screwed-minded people to engage with the community. I see several people say that it's not proved that he is officially from Wasabi. Fuck you guys! Wassabi wallet owner aren't going to this forum to confirm that he is their employee. If you believe, good. If not, very good, please stay away and do not bump this thread anymore. There are just friendly advise.

His continued engagement is just keeping the thread active and spreading the word of what a piece of shit he is so there is that. Smiley

Great new docu about the Centra scam on Netflix... "Bitconned"
Cant believe I missed it for past 3 plus weeks (released on Jan 1).
Apparently my Netflix algo doesn't know I'm a bitconner bitcoiner.
No spoiler alert but the last 10 minutes of docu is eye opening.
And Jay… they play that great song you like to post…

Everybody Knows….

(Apologies if the docu has already been previously mentioned, I did make the effort to scan back.)

Watched it last night, thanks

Had to fast forward parts like his scumbag family crying about the fucking piece of garbage.

I'm not surprised at all the piece of shit walked.

We see this crap every day and it never ceases to piss me the fuck off.

151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: January 24, 2024, 08:14:45 PM
Dash wasn't a bad coin as long as you were mining it in the beginning and then sold near the top.  I thought about hanging on to those masternodes back in late 2017 but I made the correct decision and liquidated everything.  I was mining this coin right after it launched and had acquired it basically for free.   I was never one to hodl as they say.  I just wasn't a believer.

Anyway, I wish those that have stuck it out the best.  You never know what might happen.  Some still believe in miracles.

I was there at launch.

Anyone mining that was not on Linux miner got fucked and lied to, so the bolded in your statement is a lie, and he twice said there was going to be a relaunch because his shit software didn't work and then reneged on that when a big linux miner bribed him with the ninja mine.

So try learning history before spreading lies yourself.

I'm not spreading anything.  I made a ton of money off of Dash so I don't care what happened at launch.  It's been ten years.  Time to move on and stop dwelling about what happened at launch.  Complaining about it isn't going to change a thing.

I call out lies that I see and there is never a time to stop that.

And I'm not complaining, I am pointing out Facts.

I'm sorry if that makes you a sad little boy.

If My posts stop a n00b from giving money to people like you I will have considered my time well spent.

Sorry I didn’t post it, hopefully someone else did. Last week before the crash mtgox sent out another email confirming exchange information to prepare for the distribution of Bitcoin to creditors. This to me is the last step before BTC will be distributed. As such, I assume the selling we’re seeing is people getting in front of the gox distribution.

I haven't heard this news repeatedly out of your pie hole for enough years, lets hear all about how it's going to tank us again but this time with some real feeling.

What would it look like if they tied?

It'll look like a severe cock-up and you can bet the NFL would be in court up to its asshole in a heartbeat! Cheesy

OVERTIME RULES FOR NFL POSTSEASON GAMES

Unlike regular season games, postseason games cannot end in a tie, so the overtime rules change slightly for the playoffs.

If the score is still tied at the end of an overtime period — or if the second team’s initial possession has not ended — the teams will play another overtime period. Play will continue regardless of how many overtime periods are needed for a winner to be determined.
There will be a two-minute intermission between each overtime period. There will not be a halftime intermission after the second period.
The captain who lost the first overtime coin toss will either choose to possess the ball or select which goal his team will defend, unless the team that won the coin toss deferred that choice.
Each team will have an opportunity to possess the ball in overtime.
Each team gets three timeouts during a half.
The same timing rules that apply at the end of the second and fourth regulation periods also apply at the end of a second or fourth overtime period.
If there is still no winner at the end of a fourth overtime period, there will be another coin toss, and play will continue until a winner is declared.

Probably shouldn't be celebrating the anniversary of a Scam Ninja Mine that Evan started this coin off with while lying to the miners and then taking a bribe to keep the scammer coins.

Why should I excuse or forgive o_e_l_e_o's continuous attacks on Bitcoin just because he's mortal?

You are Piece of excrement.
