421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learning crypto in universities on: October 10, 2018, 12:39:07 PM
While everybody  is so unhappy about Ethereum, I think we can distract for a while as long as we can not change the situation, all we can do is wait. So let's wait with some usefulness. What do you think about the possibility of learning cryptocurrency world in the universities, in some financial departments, for instance? I think it is possible in the future as cryptocurrency is slowly becoming a huge part of our lives and it is silly to deny the fact that we will have to deal with crypto sooner or later. So why not to found some sort of cryptocurrency school at first and then we do can make a whole department in the university. What subjects would you like to teach or would you like to learn? Would such things be useful and popular amount young and middle aged students? Maybe even the aged will find the attention here, why not, usually they have a lot of time and pensions are not good enough I think.

There are few universities who are already teaching crypto in their classes. Separate class for crypto may or may not be helpful for now but I believe there should be some basic knowledge regarding crypto technology for everyone. Everyone who comes out of university should know basic about crypto and how it works so they teach it to others. good for long term adoption.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This year proved it There is no Crypto Expert! on: October 10, 2018, 12:36:23 PM
Do you think like this? There is no real crypto expert. Every crypto expert's predictions were wrong for every month this month! The crypto market doesn't actually follow any market trend or line. No one can understand or predict what's going on. I have been following some crypto experts, now I unfollowed them! If you have experience then you don't need to follow any other crypto expert! What do you think guys?

There are only people who claim to be crypto expert but in reality there are none professional. It's difficult to predict what would happen in crypto world regardless of your prediction experience. You would be much better off by making your own judgement than listening to so called future teller. It's mostly done for publicity reason.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think Ethereum will over take bitcoin? on: October 09, 2018, 12:22:16 PM
who think if ethereum will overtake bitcoin? isn't the difference from the value alone is several inches away. bitcoin can control crypto market as a value and a very large community. in the community perhaps I could emulate the ethereum, bitcoin but in value I think irreplaceable bitcoin on the crypto. ethereum does have a great potential in the market for crypto but to overtake the bitcoin it very far, if ethereum can't I suppose altcoin more will also not be possible.
I don't think that Ethereum would overtake bitcoin in near future. But it has a very high prospect in 2018 and I believe it would be around 4k at the end of this year.
child, it is very difficult to assume that the etherium will overtake Bitcoin. In any case, I doubt that the etherium will rise above 10,000 dollars or 20,000 dollars, which in its time already showed Bitcoin .
In some cases I agree. The ethereum will never bypass bitcoin and will not even catch up with it. The maximum that can happen this year, the ethereum somehow miraculously reach up to 800$. In any case, bitcoin dominates the altcoyins.

just few days ago I saw someone mentioned if eth would go to $30 and today people are wondering if it'll by pass bitcoin.  Grin. I don't think it will ever bypass bitcoin in the coming future. It would be debatable if it can cross $500 this year let along surpassing bitcoin.
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto a danger or an opportunity? on: October 09, 2018, 12:19:44 PM
I think crypto is just a useful technology that could make some field of economy more simply or more safety. Decentralization is a good thing but we need a balance between centralization and decentralization and actually we did not find it.

It's dangerous if you go all in without any research and invest all your income without a second thought. Everything is dangerous and risky to some aspect. It depends on person's ability to face the danger or look at it as an opportunity. It's an innovative opportunity for those who see the potential it will have in coming time.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth Worth $30. Is it possible? on: October 08, 2018, 07:03:43 AM
I am hodling few coins in an exchange and do some trading. Cut losses were fine with me 'coz I'm a bit scared of high loss, I am just playing in a safety mode.

But, while many are happy with the eth's continuously pumping and traders are happy to see the market's optimistic view, I am still here waiting for the Eth to drops heavily like at least $30. So, I can buy some and will experience the fruits of eth's benefits as well.  Cool Is it possible now, to reached down it's value like that? Like hello? I've been waiting for a couple of months. Lol

Am I the only one here, in the contrary of patiently waiting for eth to dump like hell?
I do not understand the purpose of this thread. You want to buy cheap? So did you write a post about a few hundred wasting words?

It was created in April when ETH price was much better than it is today. I am not sure how someone could think that it would reach $30 when clearly there is no indication of it and there was no indication of it in April.
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Knowledge is needed on: October 06, 2018, 12:50:01 PM
When you are still a newbie to this cryptocurrency world, it is better to take action and study the flow of its ecosystem and be prepared when you make an investment to avoid a profit loss. Don't make drastic move that you didn't prepare to it. Always make your own research first.

lol. it's funny to see that's coming from a jr. member but yeah you're right. Crypto world has attracted a lot of people who're looking for ways to get rich overnight or in short term. This forum is filled with knowledgeable people who can guide you in correct direction if you just choose to read but you can't help people who're after overnight enrichment. In every world knowledge is power and crypto is no exception.

Malta PM at UN General Assembly: Crypto is the Inevitable Future of Money
At the UN General Assembly, Malta Prime Minister Joseph Muscat stated that blockchain technology will allow crypto to inevitably become the future of money.

He stated:

“I passionately believe technology revolutionizes and improves systems. This is why in Malta, we have launched ourselves as the blockchain island. By being the first jurisdiction worldwide to regulate this new technology that previously existed in a legal vacuum. Blockchain makes cryptocurrencies inevitable future of money. More transparent it helps filter good business from bad business.”

Prime Minister Muscat emphasized that recognizing the potential of the blockchain, Malta has openly embraced the crypto market and businesses within it, leading the global cryptocurrency sector with favorable regulations and practical policies.
https://www.ccn.com/malta-pm-at-un-general-assembly-crypto-is-the-inevitable-future-of-money/

This is the exact kind of news we need from every UN member countries. He knows what the future holds and blockchain is it. UN is a place where all world leader meets to discuss the future of their country and if we see few speeches like this from few other countries, it will definitely speed up adoption process all over the world.

$2.5 Million: Binance Invests in Aussie Crypto Payments Startup to Push Adoption
Australian cryptocurrency payments startup Travelbybit has seen a cash injection of $2.5 million from a high-profile investor in Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.

Crypto unicorn Binance is investing AUD $3.48 million (approx. USD$2.5 million) in TravelbyBit to further expansion of the latter’s network of cryptocurrency payment terminals following a successful implementation in Brisbane earlier this year, Business Insider Australia reported on Wednesday.

The two companies will jointly collaborate in introducing a point-of-sale (POS) system – already developed by TravelbyBit – into “major airports around the world,” the report added. The objective is to propel cryptocurrency adoption among travelers who commonly see friction in currency conversion and other markup fees.

Binance chief executive Changpeng Zhao said:

“Let’s start with airports and go from there…Real, on-the-ground, just-when-you-need-it use case is the key to further crypto adoption. In this light, there is no better fit than being able to use your crypto when travelling, just after you land in a foreign country, where you may not have the local currency.”
https://www.ccn.com/2-5-million-binance-invests-in-aussie-crypto-payments-startup-to-push-adoption/

that's the smartest decision I've heard today. For once I was thinking what would be the point of putting it in airport but then you realize how much potential is there at the airport for this kind of technology. When you're picking travelers you're picking very diverse set of group which can really boost the use of crypto. Everybody travels, airports are filled with people from different background. I think this is much much better than putting it in retail shop where you are stuck with narrow set of consumers who're all interested in one thing, getting in and getting out of the store. Whereas, at the airport people have to wait for hours and they're more likely to try crypto.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ripple cross $5 this year ? on: October 04, 2018, 01:15:32 PM
Will Ripple be able to repeat the history again this year ? Last year we predicted the value of $5 for one Ripple but we got almost more than $3 ? Kindly share your feedback about the Ripple.

I don't think it can go to $5 this year would be lucky if it crosses $2 as there is not much leg room for that kind of huge movement. I've heard some companies have implemented ripple with their system which may help it boost the price over long term but current market gives no indication of it reaching $5 anytime this year.
430  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Cryptocurrency threatens governments on: October 04, 2018, 01:09:45 PM
Over the years cryptocurrency  has evolved into a global currency but governments are trying to sweep it's relevancy under the carpet. We all know that the eyes of the community are now opened to the importance and blockchain technology.

What baffles me is why are the government making lives difficult by banning or limiting it's use? Is it because it threatens the political power or are they scared it will improve the global economy or force the traditional banks to reduce their ridiculous interests rate which we have been robbed of for decades now.

What is your take on this and what do you think will make governmental bodies to finally accept crypto?

You do have to understand that government could careless about bitcoin or other cryptocurrency but there are power like banking system who see crypto as a threat to their existing system. There is also a risk involved and it's much more work difficult to track crypto transaction than it is to track fiat transaction. It requires people with knowledge of the crypto system which requires educating your staff. It's partly due to a threat to their existing and partly due to cost associated with implementing crypto to their current system.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to stay sane?? on: October 03, 2018, 12:26:07 PM
so, how it's going? i hope you're all fine and in a perfect mental condition to help me. just share your secret, how you handle your stress caused by abrupt drops? how can you stay alive when one of the morning brings you news that your chosen alt has lost a lot in price? is there any chance of keeping your head cool? i may be too emotional or touchy, but really, isn't it outrageous that after all your time-consuming researches and observations and readings all you get is zero on your wallet? i would simply love you to tell me how you reduce the consequences of it. i can't be the only one who is so anxious about crypto. sometimes i hold my breath before updating information considering crypto. deep inside i think it might assist me in some way, somehow affect my chosen coins, haha. is that normal? have you ever felt that way, too? what are your thoughts? don't leave me alone in the darkness, please!

that's why it's important to not invest what you can't afford to lose but you can't really do anything about what's already done then just watch market. Try to distract yourself with something else instead of completely focusing on crypto, it'll only bring more head burning headache.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: From 150 - To 15 000 $ - ETH (speculation) on: October 03, 2018, 12:22:18 PM
Compared to bitcoin only few people know about ether. It has a potential if the devs work in it else it will end up like any other shit coin.
Most of the demand of ETH comes from paying gas, unlike bitcoin and litecoin it isn't used in transactions.
So it's going to be a very tough road. But 15,000$ is totally not reachable.I would consider 1500 as the highest reachable point for ether.
If it crosses 5k then I will chop my penis 100%

I am not sure if that's 100% true. From what I can see people who are invested in bitcoin can also easily access eth from the same platform such as coinbase. It is true that more people are using bitcoin than eth but same people know about eth as well but they choose not to touch it. I think investors are scared of eth to some extent after big drop and there will be too many variables for it to reach $15000 which is a huge leap forward.
433  Economy / Economics / Re: Evolution of money from barter system to crypto currency on: September 30, 2018, 01:33:27 PM

In the old age,few centuries ago people uses some money system which is called Barter system to buy and sell their products. This system works like exchanging their products between two people when they are in need but they realized that that system has flaws and not suitable for everyone since if there is no demand for one's product he can't buy anything he needs so later they moved to currencies (paper money) until now people uses this as their main form of payment but in digital format but people needs to understand that this also has flaw of centralization so we need to move to the decentralized money for better life.Lets get update ourselves to use the crypto currencies.

that is correct. paper money has its flaws and we're starting to move towards decentralization. It's slow in the beginning but then it'll catch up very fast as soon everyone has access to internet.
434  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar rises in Indonesia, what is the economic fate? on: September 30, 2018, 01:30:09 PM
In Indonesia, the dollar rises while the Rupiah weakens, if the dollar rises why Bitcoin Prices do not rise.

Look: The dollar is rising, in Indonesia it can't overcome the problem of a stable dollar, now in Indonesia is experiencing Chaos, many people and even Students are Demonstrating against the Government, so that the dollar price cannot go down,

What about the economic fate in Indonesia, will it continue to experience chaos?

as few people have already mentioned in this thread that is due to trade war between china and us. Unfortunately, this trade will continue for decades from now. Although it may seem that bitcoin is not profiting from it, you will be very surprised in coming months when people start using bitcoin as safe heaven. when market gets riskier which it will then bitcoin will rise and rise it will.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: In 10 years 20$ will turn 100k on: September 29, 2018, 01:27:56 PM
10 years time in crypto currencies . 20$ will become at least 100k?
Rn I'm holding tron, and eos 20$ and ontology 10$ airdrop. I don't plan on moving it around cus its nothing to me. I'll wait it out 10 years.

it's good to be optimistic and I suppose with that much money you don't have much to lose. $20 to $100k is a long shot in my opinion but anything is possible and economy isn't looking that great so $ value can really take a hit any day now. u never know.
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it the start of the bullrun already? on: September 29, 2018, 01:25:48 PM
I can see a lot of the alt coins moon already like XRP , ETN , Gas and other alts more , I think this will be the start of the bullrun . Do you agree ? Whats on your bag right now and what is still good to buy at floor price?

I'm afraid slight upward trend in the market doesn't necessarily mean its bull run. Although its close but we're not there yet looking at the market. We're getting there and November should be a month for crypto.
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hidden Bull Market - Big Institutes Coming Nov / Dec 2018 on: September 28, 2018, 01:07:22 PM
We have been waiting. So far the signs are not indicating something of such, but we are hopeful. It's less than four months till the end of the year. We are still open for the possibilities.
large institutions enter and prices of bitcoin and ethereum will also rise like yesterday's ripple,
I am very sure that November or December prices will definitely rise
Have you heard about Bakkt ETF to launch in early november? Is it large institution? If yes why the price doesn't react to this news? I want to know what is large institution  Huh
https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/huge-headline-ices-bakkt-to-launch-bitcoin-etf-on-november-5-2018/

"Svandis‘ CEO and founder, Hermann Finnbjornsson, for example, claims that Bitcoin is almost guaranteed to have a future. Despite its poor performance throughout the year, a lot of others claim the same. They believe that there are numerous positive factors that have a good influence on this coin. Even the banks are giving up on ignoring the cryptocurrencies, as they simply won't go away."

I most certainly agree with Swandis. $10,000 in November. most certainly yes. If we hit that $10,000 mark then it'll be a good position to say it's going to get higher from there.
438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ether is about to rally strongly says Wall Street’s Tom Lee on: September 28, 2018, 01:00:51 PM
i think Tom Lee is starting to say what people want to hear!

you can clearly see from the topics about ethereum for the past couple of months that people are getting too desperate for an ETH pump and they believe anything at this point that you tell them.

sounds about right. Desperation can get people to believe anything they need to believe to feel better about their situation. I hope he is right but I also think he is just saying what people wants to hear. good marketing strategy.
439  Economy / Economics / Re: Even your fiat is not totally secure! on: September 27, 2018, 01:24:17 PM
A lot of people have always worried about the security of bitcoin and cryptocurrency which is why they have decided to stay away from investing in it. You must also note that even the fiat money that you may have can also be liable to theft. The earlier you stop giving flimsy excuses, the better. The decision is yours!

fair enough but what happens if your money is stolen from the bank due to their security. I am sure they'll return it back unless its everyone who gets hit by the security glitch. I agree that your money is not secure anywhere but I doubt crypto is more secure than bank at this point, eventually in the future it will become much stronger and I think its much easier for you to keep track of your finance if you have it on your hand instead of third party. perhaps that's why hard investment is good for long term.
440  Economy / Economics / Re: You cannot eat your cake and have it on: September 27, 2018, 01:21:19 PM
There is a popular saying that invest only what you can afford to loose. Some people are making the mistake of investing all their life savings into crypto and other ventures. Some people even went as far as borrowing money or even using their properties as collaterals to borrow money so as to invest into crypto. This is a wrong idea and it might cost you a lot.
Every investment has its risks. So consider the the risk involved by taking each step at a time and do not jump in once.

I believe I read an article somewhere last year about a guy who sold his everything and went all in crypto. He sold his only house, only car and his wife tried to stop him but he didn't listen and convinced her that it was okay to invest that much amount of money in crypto and taking so much risk. I wonder where he is today and whether he thinks it was a mistake. He was quite excited too.
