541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to invest 8000$ on: June 25, 2018, 12:22:29 PM
Hi
Im thinkimg of investing about 8k$.

Please suggest a relative safe but also with big gain potencial coins. Im investing for 1-2 years, maybe longterm if crypto market and blockchain shows mainstream adoption.

1.However i do like privacy coins i dont think it will show big pptencial due to goverment regulations, they will not allowd people to have conpletly anonymous transaction. However i could be wrong.
2. I think platform coins have potencial, ETH, NEO, ADA, EOS...coins should have real life chances to be used, so there cannot be problems with scalability...etc...3rd Generation platform coins? Could that be first realy usefull platforms for mainstream?
3. Lots of smallcap coins show potencial and i like them, however i dont wanna become bagholder.
4.large supply coins are harder to pump also harder to dump, but i think people are avoiding them, my thoughts are that relative short term are not bringing lots of profit, especialy established coins like XRP...how to pump xrp 10x, almost imposibble.
5.BTC is in my opinion only as investment fund, dont think its tehnologicaly advanced and real life use. Biggest advantage of btc is that it was first.
6. My future predictions for crypto are: BTC will gain alot in few years, it will go mainstream as an speculative investment for ordinary people, therefor banks will offer btc investments funds, retiremend funds...goverment and global economics will adopt reallife use of blockchain. Large country willl have its own regulated cryptocurencys, and when i say regulated i mean completly tracable and transparent coins, coins that will be artificuly maintainig its price. No real life use coin for pyment cant have 20% volatility. Platform coins will survive, probably few of them and all will have its own market. ETH for conservative companys, NEO for mainstream, ADA for tehnogicaly advanced. Privacy coins will have problems with goverment, regulations, ban...it will be used but small percent of people really need real privacy coins. I dont care if i buy a coffe with privacy coin or with btc, im not hiding anything.

What are your thougts?
Which coins are good gain potencial in 1 to 2 years?
How would you invest 8k$?
I probably wont invest anythong more in few years than that 8k. However if i loose everything im not gonna die, i can afford to lose it.

Please suggest

Thank you

You're come at the right time with your 8k as market is currently bearish. I think ETH is a good investment for long term and ADA is rather on cheap side but it has great potential once we go bull. IOTA is another one that you can invest in. I'm not a big fan of XRP due to involvement of banks. There are others I can suggest like powr.
542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: More bearish market coming ? acc. to wall st. cheat sheet (pic inside) on: June 25, 2018, 12:02:07 PM
for now it's better to move assets into usdt or fiat money and come back when the market is at its lowest point this year, then we start and plan new investments.

I don't think that's the best move as you don't know if market is going to follow the chart. May be convert some to fiat if you feel fearful.
543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With each drop crypto currencies are getting stronger! on: June 25, 2018, 11:56:46 AM
Who think about the current scenario in this way?

I mean when the crypto currencies fall down then they are actually getting over bought with the investors as they seek the opportunity to buy more and more coins over the time. I think it creates new stream of investment for the people around crypto space.

This actually makes it more stronger as the people keep buying more with each drop! Who agrees and who dont?

I think you meant oversold not overbought. Current market is oversold big time but there should be shift in the future.
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC - ICO, altcoins and McAfee on: June 21, 2018, 12:44:09 PM
Hello, I see a real problem that could harm a lot of altcoins or ICOs.
SEC said that Ethereum and Bitcoin are not securities but some altcoins might be.
McAfee said that he will no longer support ICOs due to SEC threats "and those doing ICOs can all look forward to arrest".

I am little bit afraid that a lot of coins violate the laws and may soon be worthless.
What is your opinion please?

as many have mentioned that this will only effect people in the US and this will take few months rather than weeks. not a big fan of McAfee here but you just have to wait and see before deciding whether they'll be worthless or not. not many can give you proper guidance on this subject as it involves future date.
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are bounty managers to be blamed? on: June 21, 2018, 12:38:04 PM
So ones again we have been scammed by another ICO known as Uchit. Now people have started raining insults and curses on the bounty manager that he has led them to be scammed. Despite the numerous apologies from the manager, bounty hunters do not seem to understand. Now my question is, do you think bounty hunters must be blamed when we are scammed because they knew what the ICO was up to, even from the beginning?

manager can take some steps to make sure its a valid ICO but there is not much he can do if it turns out to be a scam. People are in the habit of getting angry at the person who is promoting the project rather than the people who're running the project but it's not the same thing as manager is just like other people who've chosen to promote it and cannot really predict if it'll be a scam.
546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to calculate altcoin future price depending on marketcap on: June 21, 2018, 12:27:17 PM
How do people calculate what could be the price depending on market cap?

For example, people saying that DGB will hit 1$ at 8billion market cap

You can't.

There are other things you have to consider and you shouldn't solely rely on marketcap to predict the future. not that anyone can correctly predict it besides large investors or group of large investors.
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think of the current market? on: June 21, 2018, 12:23:32 PM
Current is actually great for people who are looking to buy crypto or even newbies who couldn't invest before last time. Although it may look bad to hodlers, this is not something new and generally it brings more investors. that is to be done before price spikes even higher and beat its past high.
548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Greed and crypto !! on: June 20, 2018, 05:43:49 AM
There are even special clinics for cryptoaddicts. Alex Elder wrote about trading psychology in his books (called "Trading for a living"), I found it very interesting.

special clinics just for cryptoaddicts?  Grin sounds like we're heading in the right direction. Greed is necessary to some extent but too much of anything can burn you in the long term.
549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why so many bounty campaign are extending? on: June 20, 2018, 05:41:29 AM
The main reason projects are extending bounties is because it is taking a long time to get funding.

that sounds about right. Bitcoin price has plummeted and now you need more time to get the funding that you need to run any project.
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Scammers are Getting Cleverer! on: June 19, 2018, 06:24:27 AM
A while back I stumbled across some information online about a tech company using blockchain in a way that was revolutionising the consumer electronics market. As someone who takes an interest in new and exciting developments in the crypto space I looked into the project. At the time there was a massive marketing hype about this particular coin. It was not an ICO but a coin that had been around for some time but with negligible value (ie. even a sizable holding of coins was worth just a few cents). During the next few weeks the hype grew, although the price didn't move much. I decided the time was right to invest and, given how amazing the project sounded, actually invested a significant sum of money.

A few days later the coin got a listing on an exchange. The price actually shot up. When I looked it was up by around 3,000% from the average price it had been in previous months. My investment was worth about twenty times the amount I invested. I believed I had made a great investment. The price started dropping about four or five days later, but by small amounts at a time. I didn't pay much attention. I knew that the market was overpriced anyway and that prices were due for some downward movement. The price drops were more or less inline with the price of major cryptos anyway.

I decided that my strategy was a long term investment and forced myself to stop looking at the prices of my investment every day. I looked again last Friday. I was horrified. The price was back to almost zero and the value of my investment was about 2% of the amount I invested. The withdrawal fees would be more than the actual investment itself. What on earth was going on I asked myself. I spent the weekend digging around to try and find out. It seems that the whole thing was a scam, and a very clever one at that. The initial price rises on hitting the exchange were manipulated by the team behind the coin. They used the hype that they manufactured to build the interest which in turn produced the hype. It was very cleverly done.

As the team themselves held a significant amount of the coins, from their ICO that they had done much earlier, I think it was a year earlier, they then took advantage of the price, dumped their coins, but did so in a way so as not to raise any suspicions, and made an absolute fortune from this. People who invested during the hype, like myself, essentially created the opportunity for the team to cash in using money invested by people like me. They have now vanished. The coin is no longer trading, is worth zero, and I am left with nothing.

It's so easy to be fooled by a team whose aim is not to produce a blockchain-related product or service, but rather, create the conditions to create wealth for themselves by conning other people out of their money on the basis of fake promises that they have no intention to realise. I am not going to be able to say which coin this is, although a few people in the community may know or be able to guess, because there may be legal action going on and I don't want to be party to jeopordise it. Having said that, even if there were to be any form of legal recourse we all know it is highly unlikely that it will be successful.

Sometimes, despite all one's due dilligence, even the most careful of investors will get scammed from time to time. I'm not sure if there's anything I would, or could, have done differently, but I am nevertheless putting the whole episode down to a very bad experience that has simply led me to make a substantial loss. I will continue to be involved in the space and will continue to do the fullest amount of due dilligence, but on the understanding that scammers really are getting cleverer!

Why did you go against the market when you knew it was going downward? You never win if you fight with the market and if price goes down by that much it's a telltale sign that you need to exit the market, specially when it comes to new coins that no one is familiar with. What was the name of the coin if you don't mind sharing?
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We do not need government and bank any more on: June 19, 2018, 05:35:52 AM
I do not agree in every point. If you say we dont need banks anymore because of cryptocurrencies, i totally agree. Cryptocurrencies makes banks superfluous. So we dont need these greedy companies who steal our money. But i think we will always need a gouverment who keeps the order. Because blockchain cant protect you from murder and plunder.

lol. who do you think run the government?  Grin

and to answer op question. I don't think we've reached the point where we don't need bank or government yet. It may happen in the future as you can see people are getting fed up with all the lies and deception but it will take years before you see anything. Blockchain may or may not help.
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you believe John McAfee is right about Bitcoin hitting $500,000 in 3 years? on: June 19, 2018, 05:30:45 AM
Even $100k looks too hard for bitcoin, how can we expect $500k in a few years ? Bitcoin may possibly reach $100k if world's all crypto investors leave from altcoins and move to bitcoin. Right now market capitalization is not sufficient to reach this level but it is every crypto lover's will to reach that level

You never know what future holds for bitcoin. I think it was just the prediction to gain publicity just like any other prediction. Whether it comes to fruition or not is different story. He got the attention he wanted from it. $50k is fairly possible in 3 years time but I'm not so sure about $500k but who knows, if you had asked people few years ago they would've never guessed that btc would reach the price it has reached today and in the past.
553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I think a bull run is near, we all hype it but observe this. on: June 18, 2018, 12:32:16 PM
So every time we get a down period people hype up a bull run coming next month in order to restore faith, I'm not trying to do that at all here I'm just pointing out an observation I've seen in each dip.

So every time we dip I monitor volume, see how many are selling vs those buying, one thing I've noticed is with each dip the sell volume decreases in comparison to the last, I view this as the amount of weak hands in the market reducing with each dip.

This current dip is interesting compared to those prior, this one stands out in terms of volume more than we've seen all year, we've had BTC hit an almost 10 month low in volume going from 6 billion at 6500 down to 3 billion while still holding a price at 6500, the same pattern has been seen with altcoins hitting seriously low volume levels compared to every other dip and the prices bottoming out from a lack of "I'm selling" rather than buy support.

This is looking more like a period where we are nearly out of weak hands and the lack of people selling low is holding things up rather than buy support doing it which we've seen in every other dip.

To me this is a very good sign in terms of things turning bullish, when you hear about the multiple market cycles involved in a bear cycle, for example the picture put up recently explaining how 7 down cycles seems to be the number before markets turn, it's not voodoo or a magical number but rather the average it takes to flush out all of the weak hands.

If you observe now it appears the weak hands are pretty well done, once the buy volume recovers we should have very good hopes of a bull run.

What do others think of this observation?

What do you mean you see less sell orders vs buy?

I agree that we might be looking at a u-turn as I'm hearing some of the good news that might help the market. Only if these newspapers could go a day without reporting some nuisance to harm the image of bitcoin, that could really help but I believe they can only go for so long before tide is turned.
554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins' situation on: June 14, 2018, 05:48:50 AM
Is the market currently red?

It's red if you look at the coinmarketcap but it's going to turn over and I'm starting to see that there is going to an uptrend in coming days/weeks but take your own risks. If you feel risky then stay away. I know there are people who take other advice literally instead of doing their own research so I have to point it out that I could be wrong.  Cool
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solution to the Facebook ban on crypto ads on: June 13, 2018, 07:01:35 AM
It's no news that Facebook has placed a ban on crypto ads on their platform due to scam
What do you think is the solution to this?

It's their loss in the long term but are you still able to post crypto related posts? If yes, then that's your solution. I don't have fakebook so I wouldn't know if it's still possible. There are other media like telegram, twitter, youtube where you can still post crypto related information.
556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This market is unhealthy! on: June 13, 2018, 06:56:55 AM
This is the real market trend of cryptocurrency it may seems unhealthy for an impatient investors and traders but for long term holders they get used to it. The ups and downs of the market, sudden and unexpected crash and a lots of FUDs and bash if you already know the waves of this market then waiting for the right time to hit the target is what we are looking for but the answer is when but if you can wait patiently you know how to conquer it.

most old timers already understand this but its the newcomers who are having panic attack every time it goes down.  Grin. Its volatile just like it has always been but it is much more stable than it was in the past, its a great news.
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Experts predict 30 Crypto currencies expected rise exponentially in the upcoming on: June 13, 2018, 06:44:46 AM
Since the price of cryptocurrencies are now in rising some experts predict that 30 of the Altcoins' price will increase exponentially.
If you're an investor better to consider some of the Altcoins listed.

see the thing about these "experts" is that they rarely make correct prediiction. so its better to trust your own predicion than that of an expert. I'm sure you can find many "experts" who predict all kind of things but making correct prediction is different story altogether.  Wink
558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance: $BNB The Future of Exchanges. on: June 12, 2018, 12:12:05 PM
I think Binance has a been one of the great exchange so far. They're growing extremely fast and their userbase has quadrupled since January and that is around the time which hasn't been so great for cryptocurrency.
559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How long does it takes for a Token to rise the price after ICO? on: June 12, 2018, 12:09:00 PM
Was confused with this matter if how long it takes a token/coin to rise its value from ICO Price to a higher price?

Does it take 1 or 2 weeks, months or years after the ICO to reach higher price than the ICO price?

I saw a lot of ICO's which already listed in an exchange sites but the price still very low and is lower than the ICO price, how could it be? People are investing in ICO but lost because the value after ICO in exchanges are lesser than they price where people are investing.

it used to be faster so this could be due to market looking sluggish for everything and not just new coins. Look at the ETH price it has not been very stable and a lot of ICO relies on its price. give it some time.
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins to buy on the dip? on: June 11, 2018, 02:04:47 PM
I want to buy some coins to hold that have potential:
Do you have suggestions?
I think:
Cardano
Tron: not Quality but has potential
Binance
EOS?
ETH? There is talk the will improve scalability using sharding!

I am not totally sure
Input appreciated!

My preference is Cardano like many people in this thread and I would say EOS. Both of them have a great potential in the long term, once BTC has recovered, they will moon faster than the last time.
