To all the people selling Drk. I realise the temptation to sell is great, especially if you bought at $1 or less.
However, before you commit that grievous sin and damage your future wealth, please do these logical checks:
1. Is darkcoin better than litecoin?
2. Is darkcoin current price less than litecoin?
If you answered yes to the above questions: WHY ARE U SELLING?!!!
i think it is good that there are people to sell their coins. how else could newcomers buy in and become part of this? sell sell sell. I´m thankful to the big holders who let me buy in 2 weeks ago. [And two days ago.] (some earlyadopters even stated that they have so much that they are willing to let some precent go to get new ones involfed) I don't have a problem with people selling. I have a BIG problem with people selling at less than $50 per Drk. They do not know what they hold! Blind!!! And i have no problem with buying at these prices

It's been an amazing month, but let's not create hopes that can't be fulfilled. If it falls I expect it to rise again, but there will be price drops along the way! And it will be ok yeb, that is a correct statement. ...but on the other hand we are at 0.016 at the moment aaaaand at 0.017 there is a #4 spot a snarier occupied to long

wow that dump ... People are obviously worried that BTC is going to the moon without them. meanwhile... I am worrying that I don't get my BTC to mintpal to get some cheap DRK fast enough i recived mine today. ....and bought at 0.0145 ,,,,... on the other hand it is a long time investment, so f it... It'll go back up I am sure. You'll be grateful you picked them up at such a low price eventually the last ones i bought at 0. 00124 and 0. 00160 but this time i got in by an amount(in Fiat) 30times the combined amount before. ...yes, it will go up. cheers to you to!

...and some users posting that only the the reported hashrate goes up (user-side), the real hashrate stays the same... looks like a scam...
|
|
|
and they should. it only takes a price of 0.018X for DRK to take over that spot.

It will not change just by the current people passing the bag on. The new cohort of 3.2x more people is what will take it higher.
The current players' desire to have cheaper coins is no more significant then.
For the new cohort to come in, there must be a motivation factor. And what might that be? I suspect, though I don't know for sure (no doubt others will comment on this): Lots of new people (aka the "Fresh Fiat" we keep hearing about) are going into bitcoin. We know that the number of new accounts on Coinbase, Blockchain etc is rising significantly, and that must be bringing some new money in. The problem is that speculative money is leaving bitcoin at the same time. Bitcoin was vastly overpriced and has corrected/is correcting (depending on how bearish you are). Although it's a gross simplification, I wonder whether the newcomers are more 'normal' buyers, Joe Publics who have heard about Bitcoin and decided to buy a small amount, try it out etc, before perhaps investing more in the future. Whereas the speculative money is at least an order of magnitude greater per person, because these people were trying to make a lot of money at it. It may be that a proportion of current newcomers become larger investors later on. I'd be interested to know how many day traders here started small before going in heavy enough to make/lost decent money, and how long that took. TL;DR - growth in user base and fiat is already there, it's just slower and steadier than the speculators running for the door. -> Relax. Once the speculators have bailed properly ("capitulation") we'll see the underlying growth that was there all along. Discuss. the userbase is growing. But the new ones have seen enough burned children to not risk their savings. They go in with small amounts.

In regards to the pools of 10, 100 and 1000DRK, I believe the best solution is to get rid of the pools altogether and just require than the inputs to the pool be larger than the outputs.
For example: - John adds 102DRK to the pool, sends 101DRK to Lisa and receives back 1DRK as change. - Joe adds 153DRK to the pool, sends 73DRK to Mary and receives back 80DRK as change.
Change will still be denominated, so the 80 DRK would come back as 50,20 and 10DRK.
i like that! this should obfuscate and is easy to explain to new users ("u need to send a little more and you will get the change back") // it would be nice to be able to split a transaction over different nodes.
