21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LytixChain Reloaded - Marketplace Blockchain [PoS + Masternodes + Maxnodes on: October 24, 2019, 03:54:45 PM

HOWDY dear Lytix and meme lovers! Smiley

To celebrate Halloween and the resurrection of LytixChain (who's not a zombie as far as you can see, it's well alive!!  Grin ), we have decided to launch a "meme competition".

Everything is explained in the picture above, so create your lytix crazy/stupid/funny/annoying memes and post it in the #meme channel on our discord https://discord.gg/A8jsMwM

The one's most voted by the community will win a masternode.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!! Smiley

we are at one week of the 1 november... i am so excited, what do you expected guys?

Yep, Halvening will boost price in one week and hashrate is still fluctating, giving chance for me to
cut larger piece of the crops Cheesy

Any feedback (or memories) from the last night's uPlexa birthday party?
Considering what halving did to other projects, I wouldn't be too enthusiastic about its immediate effect on the price... let's just hope it won't repel the miners already Wink

The price will move when other serious things are launched, and there are lots of serious things to be launched, so it's better to keep in touch with the project!

I missed the Discord Birthday Party tonight, but from the post-looks of it, it sounded like a lot of fun, and airdrops frenzy Cheesy Good job with that one again!

The price is still down to the cave, so if you believe in the Team & project it's the very best time to invest, for sure!

I'm ready to launch my nodes here  Grin

Split rewards is 20% U.N. and 80% POW:
https://medium.com/@uplexa/project-update-ss-delay-nov-1st-hardfork-post-quantum-algorithm-8bccfb0b6627
Can't remember anything being said about the number of nodes on start-up. Only know that QL mentioned 100 as an exemple somewhere in discord.

Hopefully as many people that have 2M upx will run a node lol

yea, im not even close with my 15k uplexa haha. i think running a node would be a good investement and a good help to the community

what kind of work will be necessary to manage a node? we must have 2M npm and run 24/7 the pc setted... or other?

Hi! just....setting up the node, letting it run 24/7, that should be it Smiley And probably updating once in a while, if/when a hardfork is coming

Cryptech : as far as we know for now it's only 2m collateral nodes, so no tiers. But I guess if tiers become a useful option, the Team will include them...

Hi!
I was wondering...does anyone have a rough estimate of how many utility nodes should be launched when the fork is on?

+ I can't remember the rewards splitt between PoW & U.N, can anyone point me to that info please?
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥⛏️ [MAINNET] [UPX] uPlexa ⚡️ Anonymity and eCommerce via IoT on: October 19, 2019, 09:48:35 PM
What will be the max supply of the physical coin? If it's low it could be a great investment for the future when uPlexa finally takes off! Imagine uPlexa being on Coinmarketcap with two coins! UPX en UPhysicalX.
Sorry, never drink and bitcointalk:-/

What will be the next uPlexa step after Steadfast Storm? (When) will there be new examples of IoT-device implementation?
To many Teslas driving around mining nothing, so what's the use in having one!?

LOL

I guess what will follow steadfast storm will probably be e-commerce partnerships all over the place... Developing great stuff is great, putting them into use is the thing that will really get uPlexa going.

I remember Quantum Leaper suggesting, months ago, that a 'big partner' was willing to officially enter the party, but everyone decided to stay put, given the negative price action. We've see that the guy doesn't hype for nothing, so I think assume this 'big partner' is still in the the starting blocks?

ahah this crazy dev even found the time to code a discord bot...!!

So now it's faucet / lottery / tipping frenzy on the discord Cheesy

5 upx every 16 hours for free, let's hope it won't attract too many beggars/dumpers

See, Imagine you'd have to set up a utility node when you don't even know all those words in the first place. That's (almost) the state I am in right now. Bring on the quality tutorials, including
the shopping lists, links etc. Or indeed have a prepared one klick- one buy Pi that you just need to power up, cause I think that's the way to have some proper adoption.

Sounds like an awesome idea! Building a "uPlexa-node-ready-Pi" machine, with a custom box design eventually, pre-filled with 2M upx, ready-to-buy!

I'm not kidding, some other projects are doing this, and they meet a certain success...
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥⛏️ [MAINNET] [UPX] uPlexa ⚡️ Anonymity and eCommerce via IoT on: October 16, 2019, 11:47:12 AM

Yes, as everything else, the first time it seems difficult. Maybe we can then implement a test node network. There everybody can create a node for himself only with 10-15 coins, just to test how it works. Then he can implement a real one for the full price. Also, I'm sure Devs will add Linux, MAC and Windows versions of the node.

Then we can create 1-click scripts for popular VPS providers, where the node is created easily.
Plus the video tutorials proposed by Korifeetxs Smiley

ahah don't tell me, I remember setting up my first masternode... after ranting for hours and trying all sorts of different stuff (I was trying to setup the masternode on the same linux vps that was hosting the wallet..something i'm definitely not doing anymore Cheesy), I finally decided to format the damn vps and restart from scratch...to finally realize that I had no backup of my wallet.dat, and I'd sent some collaterals to a few addresses for which I didn't have the privkeys (I confused the masternode privkey with the address privkey...).

$400 worth of shitcoin lost, HEH

* Listing Approval:
Your listing needs to be approved first, this is required to protect consumers from spam, adult content, illegal websites...etc
And that is the end of a good project. A centralized instance? Why do you need a coin and blockchain for that?

So you advertise to Lytix users? Good luck keeping those around.

I had high hopes for the project, but now it looks like one in a thousand.

No real idea, use as payment, advertising....the typical buzzwords when original thought is missing. Only need to add in game payments!
Boy oh boy.

I'm sorry you don't like the current idea, I'm also not a fan of "Listing Approval" and already discussing its removal with other team members. This would make the entire advertising platform decentralized.

The listing approval procedure is certainly "centralized", but there are definitely lots of things that need to be centralized. If there's no "listing approval" procedure, the marketplace will most probably become a shitshow very quickly, wich loads of scam links and irrelevant stuff.

Maybe a better idea would be to create a "community vote" system for approval/rejection of new listing proposals?

If the fee is paid in LYTX coins, then when a proposal is rejected by the "community", the fee could be refunded to the original sender? Wouldn't that make it decentralized?

Oh, and... about the "end of a good project", let's not forget that in the current state of everything, the specificity of Lytix, aka hosting small files privately & securely on the chain for banks & insurance, was not yet developed. At all. So before passing the torch to Senaia, there was no use case at all.

Now Senaia's trying to relaunch the project by adding a use case that is not too far away from implementation, which means that the current holders & the new buyers will have a few ways to use (aka spend) their coins. I think it's already a HUGE progress in the right direction. It could work already that way, with a good combination of smart marketing, good networking and the injection of reasonable funds.

We have other ideas as well, currently under discussion, but those are a bit too "far away" to be announced now.

i can do an instructional video on how to set up vps with open host but itll be more steps etc im sure quantum leaper can give up his thoughts on vps setups to use. Vmware may have a free tier too but again more setup process.

I'll look into the vps thing, but I (and I guess many others) will be greatful for a quality instructional regarding node and vps set-up in regards to UPX.
Where can we find yours when they come available?
Hi ! I'm sure QL will post something when announcing the launch of the Utility Nodes Wink He or some kind community member.
I'm just hoping the Team will find a way to avoid the usual hassle about setting up masternodes - or eventually launch some one-click hosting service simultaneously with the UN launch! that might be a smart move, and definitely a giant step towards non-tech-savvy people. Let's not forget that those people are the future of crypto...

In the meantime, no need to stress out about this, if the "IoT principle" is applied, one should be able to host a node on a raspi or some small-cheap vps as well.

good luck to you for the new launch!!!

Faetos has done a great job with the first steps of this project, now it's up to the community to carry on and raise the bar.

It's already very nice to see the dedication and enthusiasm you're putting into this, and the effects are already visible on the price curve... from 25 sats average to 2 sats, now up to 12 sats and stabilizing... very promising!

I can hear a lot of UPX millionaires here talking Cheesy
All of you have 2 million UPX!? BTW, how much does it cost at current price to buy 2 millions?
Grin
as far as I can see, currently 2M upx are a bit higher than $300 (what a bargain!!!!)

Guys, don't wait the FOMO season, it's gonna be too late!

It is resiliant that's right!
Is it possible for a noob to implement a utilitynode into a raspberry pie 4? What kind of equipment is needed to run a node yourself? I'd like to get one myself, but 24h power-on is pretty expensive with my standard homepc.

There are a few ways to get it done. Id personally set up a virtual pc host using googles free service or as you say get a raspberry pi. Both options will work veey well but one day as the node gets bigger google will want a few dollars a year to make the storage bigger for the virtual machine. I will make a full instructional video for anyone wanting to set uk a utiliry node.

Hi, sounds intriguing... Google free service you say? What kind of service is that? If there's a free way to host utility nodes that might be a crazy breakthrough for uPlexa...

I think he means: https://cloud.google.com/free/docs/gcp-free-tier

However, under "Restricted actions" it clearly says:

"In addition to resource constraints, the Free Trial Terms of Service describes uses cases
that are prohibited during the free trial.
For example, you may not use GCP services to mine cryptocurrency during your free trial."

I don't know if that includes running a crypto node.

Oh, right... Then it's 'free for a very limited period'.. Very interesting for hosting a node 😁😁
Plus yeah, Google will kick your butt after a few days most probably.
Let's not be greedy, a small vps costs $30 a year, that seems fair enough Smiley

HALVING UPDATE
If you did not already know, UPX hardfork regarding our TX Reduction, Block reward halving, and general core updates is scheduled for November 1st, 2019 (block height: 295,550). i strongly recommend updating your wallets for this update, and updates for uPlexa daemons for all pools & merchants are mandatory.
read this important news here
https://medium.com/@uplexa/important-halving-update-e30013ccac4

Any news about Masternodes? When will they be implemented and how much would they cost?

noooo not "masternodes" buddy, UTILITY NODES!! Cheesy

Last news were that they were coming in November, and the required locked amount would be 2M upx.
So one could say that NOW, a UPX utility node is dirt cheap...

Those who are not getting in now will feel sorry later, but that's what happens in crypto Smiley
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥⛏️ [MAINNET] [UPX] uPlexa ⚡️ Anonymity and eCommerce via IoT on: October 10, 2019, 08:40:26 AM
Ahoy Mateys! Wondering about the upcoming halvening in nov and how it ties in with the UPX adding "masternodes", I know its being called something else as to avoid the nasty association that some have paired with the masternode landscape but i cant remember what it was being called?

Will a small fry like me with less then 50k UPX to date to their name be able to get involved with this?

Arrrg dont make me walk the plank mateys for the silly questions!

lol you sound like a funny guy Cheesy

first of all the 'masternodes' will be called "utility nodes", to emphasize on the fact that..they will really be useful in the network!

Then, the locked amount required for the utility nodes will be 2M UPX, but you will also have the possibility to participate in a "shared/pooled utility onde" system.
Though I'm not sure 50k will be enough, if there's a minimum stake for participating (I'm not so sure but I think I remember the minimum participation was 250k, can anyone confirm?)

stepping on DOGE's paws...risky bet!

You guys seem to have brilliant ideas to make it successful, though... You already managed to have your own visual identity, while keeping the "dog vibe" Grin

I shall say, as a graphic designer myself, your visual designs are amazing!! Love the faceted doggy logo, the beautiful wallet and all.

Bringing a bit of "class" to a tech-savvy-geek world, with the humour carried by the "meme-style brand"...nice touch!

Hi there!
So it's a revival / takeover?

I know how tough it can be for a team to takeover on a dying or dead project, it's a LOT of work, really...
It seems that with the new website, new whitepaper and all... the new team might be on the right path.
good luck with it!
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🗲[ANN] [POW] LightBit - CPU mineable coin [No Premine] [Fair Launch]🗲 on: October 09, 2019, 03:15:46 PM
We have watched this project and the team move along well even in face of controversy.
Continued growth is a good thing for crypto, its not always whp lights the torch but who carries it on and this team is doing its best to appeal to its users and everyone it can.

I have quite enjoyed being able to CPU Mine this.
While you mention "controversy"... lots of times it comes to birth out of jealousy Wink
This coin is easy to mine with a normal CPU, the network hashrate and diff are still very low... needs a bit of polishing here and there, and most importantly...one (or more!) use cases!

Don't forget about the use cases, team Smiley

But already, creating a good vibe in the community is already a nice step.
