as far as torrenting goes. it seems you need to get yr torrent program to turn it into a public torrent .
so you would just copy the blk0001.dat -> EXCLbootstrap.dat (or whatever) then turn it into a torrent.
i've never done it Smiley but i guess you'd have to add info etc.

otherwise if you have a server, you could copy the blk0001.dat -> EXCLbootstrap.dat (possibly adding a date or summat) onto a public server folder, then anyone can just look at the folder and ftp it or whatever.

alternatively use dropbox,
copy the .dat to yr local dropbox folder tehn dropbox can move the file to a public dropbox folder.

i run dropbox on the digital ocean vps to move files around, it's pretty handy.

.the next step would be to automate it, so it updates the bootstrap every couple of days or whatever.
then anyone could go to the public folders and download the latest or whatever is there.

--

taking those seeds out have sped up syncing time considerably. it's currently loading a block between 2 - 6 seconds or so. much quicker than before where i was honestly ready to leave it and worry about getting my coins later.

but a bootstrap would be quicker for sure Smiley

403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Exclusive Coin - Cryptsy/Bittrex, CAT bot, Loads of News! on: August 21, 2015, 12:24:08 PM

The EXCL wallet is a bit resource intensive and your vps is not able to keep up with the block processing (fast block time) and IOPS. Move to a different machine or close the other wallets and it will sync.

yeh it is running by itself with no other wallets.
my concern is that i will never be able to get coins out of that wallet. the vps has a better connection than i do at home . lol

deleting unsigned seeds seems to help Cheesy

https://github.com/exclusivecoin/Exclusive/pull/2

((seems to be from the blackcoin source - a lot of clones have that bit of code))
--

heh i'm a bit of a git noob and i made a slight mess of the fork with multiple pulls .lol

yes. i'm in hope for a synchronised daemon !!
404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT has code which downloads your IP address to facilitate blacklisting on: August 21, 2015, 11:31:01 AM
why doesnt someone release bitcoin XT ?
only the good bits without the fork

and bitcoin XT90
forks at a 90%

--

hmm what other flavours can we have?

Yes, let's keep forking XT.

So far, we have XT and NotXT.

I like your suggestions for GoodXT and XT90.

So we'll also need NotGoodXT and NotXT90.

Oh, and GoodXT90/NotGoodXT90.

Can we make a BadXT, which has all the evil anti-Tor/blacklist BS but no block increase?

We'll get everyone so confused, both sides will somehow be deploying hundreds of NotBadXT nodes thinking that's helpful.  Cheesy

and XTNOW which forks as soon as it syncs ..

just checking.
i'm on 1.1.2.8 is that still uptodate enough??

--

no hurry to change stake % me thinks.
the variation dependent on network weight is pretty cool though

something just occurred to me.
cryptopia has a market place Smiley

they are quite amenable to selling e-cig stuff.

Pssst.. your codebase is EXTREMELY vulnerable. Be wary

you should really just open the can of beans.  fuck all this secretive shit.

give details to respected peoples. let them agree. then it can be fixed if it can be fixed.

--

i dont know what exactly is the deal.
gorillabucks was abused by people able to gain ALL the stakes with NO rewards going to masternodes ??

409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Exclusive Coin - Cryptsy/Bittrex, CAT bot, Loads of News! on: August 18, 2015, 08:13:03 AM

but i am runing this solo on a low end digital ocean vps - trying to let it sync - it's current about 200k out and accepting a new block every 30 seconds or so...
(similar daemons run 5 other staking wallets simultaneously fine)

at this rate i will never ever ever ever ever ever be able to sync.....

411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Negativity | HARD FORK | Bonuses for discovering Prime Numbers | on: August 17, 2015, 05:20:51 AM

i didnt really have much opinion about you Smiley
i've just been reading up on BUCKS.. and humorously enough i was on c=cex chat when you discussed the BUCKS exploit.

i'm not really sure what my opinion is of you now. but it certainly isnt the best opinion in the world.

..

i am kind of curious about negative staking though. that would be pretty funny.

I don't care in the slightest. BUCKS showed vulnerabilities in many coins, such as DASH and CRAVE. The codebase is quite fucked up and only after things went down with BUCKS did further examination turn up even more holes. I would suggest being very, very careful with many new coins right now

yes indeedy..i've seen a few masternode coins with exploits.

have you got a copy of negativity source with negative pos?
it's not available through github and i'd like to look at it.

[2015-07-22 06:07:47] iGotSpots: @Crestington, that vulnerability was closed in bucks, but since they found it i assume its usable in other coins such as crave
[2015-07-22 06:08:02] iGotSpots: i did not know about it until they posted it though and it is a big deal, but its fixed for bucks now
[2015-07-22 06:08:40] iGotSpots: it did not require a new client for the fix, either
[2015-07-22 06:08:51] Crestington: @iGotSpots, what was the exact vulnerability?
[2015-07-22 06:09:23] iGotSpots: like im going to say that in a chatbox lol

i remember that.
such gold chat memories.

hahah

How come you said the exploit was fixed when it wasn't?
..

I made no comments about it at all, quit putting words into my mouth. I still don't care what the issue even is/was, I'm writing these coins off as a loss instead of dumping on people
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Negativity | HARD FORK | Bonuses for discovering Prime Numbers | on: August 17, 2015, 04:40:50 AM

lol.
just looking up BUCKS.

is the name NEGATIVITY referring to the likely outcome of yet another new coin??

wxplorer wont let me look at tx.

i look at a block, click on the tx and get..

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/nexusniro/public_html/client/tx.php on line 42
Outputs

--edit
cache refresh fixed that.
but i cant search by address.   "Invalid Input. Try Again..."

---edit2

now it's borked again :p

searching by blockhash works. but search by tx. or clicking on tx gives above above error.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN CryptoPennies X11 PoW ended. on: August 13, 2015, 01:29:28 PM
ha. i made two blocks !!
wiped out a send tx i had lurking unconfirmed and staked them instead :p

no idea if the explorer will catch up or not Cheesy

--
possibly a simpler solution would be to reduce min staking age.
again though yobit would need to get onboard ..

edit.

thought about it.
unless the chain moves regularly it does not seem particularly secure. the word is "trivial" when it comes to someone attempting a longer chain/double spend.

417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN CryptoPennies X11 PoW ended. on: August 13, 2015, 12:14:35 PM
Too bad, I have 100 CRPS stuck in my desktop wallet Tongue
