running a bunch of daemons over time. i've found that different coins have varying stability in their daemons. so i'm wondering about the simplest and stablest examples of different algorhithm coin codes.
it would be handy to know for example which is the best scrypt POW/POS so one could modify the code as necessary to support any coin of that type.
++ example of annoying code.
Banksycoin for example has a couple of really annoying quirks, such as the ever expanding debug.log which finds itself at multiple gigabytes without much fuss. and it also seems to have a very extended startup time, with high load and unavailability to calls.
i've also found some coins tend to freeze and not update the chain more regularly than others.

uploaded some unix fixes. makefile.unix works properly for ECC now
great. i did have to mkdir /src/obj then it worked lovely thank you very much .. curiously i did get Error: An error occurred while setting up the RPC port 19118 for listening on IPv4: bind: Address already in use and netstat did not report anything else using the port, so i finally got around to using port=xxx in the conf file .. and it works great. just syncing now ..

But that isn't our problem...the problem is to whom to pay, using the Blockexplorer addresses doesn't work, simply because we don't see the current exchanges as holders of our coins. Also there are lots of addresses that are not used. So what about registration of an address....we think thats not decentralized, because then we need a central database.
oh that's an oldie but a goodie that problem. but registration of a holding address seems a good idea. as long as interest/change will stay in that address (upon staking and moving coins). it does seem the simplest of possibilities. although for people who dont use the qt this registration will need to be more than doing so through the qt. a central database should be easy then. if you did want to ultimately go decentralised then trusted nodes would seem a route to consider. where those nodes handle multi-sigs to handle the accumulated dividends

this being said the declaration in the header and the function declaration are both static. this is an error although it shouldnt cause a wallet compile failure. neither of them should be static. try removing the static tags from in front of where the function is defined and its definition in the header. i'm just compiling ECC daemon (ubuntu). and i'm surprised to see it looks like its X11 or something. i thought it was scrypt ?? including groestl. blake. bmw. skein keccak shavite jh luffa cubehash echo simd in the compile .. it might even be worth it for the dev to approach comkort (or another exchange) personally. as QUIT seems to have a solid foundation and exchanges may be willing to forego the pointless voting

c-cex are getting a bit exciteable now, requiring .2btc volume/day looks like quit might need a new exchange soonish
i dont really know much about many of the lower echelon exchanges but i think comkort is long lasting and seems reputable. there may be better choices to approach though .. and they do have a way of handling fiat which is obviously handy
