41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin - Fast. Simple. Secure. Now on CoinMarketCap and CoinWarz on: February 25, 2014, 12:40:52 PM
I'm curious as to how else you will combat issues of dead weight investors, i.e. investors who claim to be enthusiastic and dedicated, up until the point that they vanish with their stake and let everyone else do the leg work while they sit and watch.

The main problem that was discussed a lot pages ago was captainhook and the premine, up until this point the iCoin team has been very honest and delivered on everything. No one has complained that they
haven't received a giveaway, bounty, promotion that was owing to them.

Quite a lot of exchanges being started up, you never know which ones are going to be a success, same with the currencies themselves.

I like what I am seeing on facebook, a good mix between male and female interest! Most coins are 99% male dominated...
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin launches geticoin.com - KGW and new Wallet update! on: February 22, 2014, 09:06:24 AM
I started mining iCoin now, I am praying the network hash doesn't climb higher!
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin will skyrocket? on: February 22, 2014, 09:02:43 AM
Whatever you do don't buy iCoin it's about to fail. Worst currency in the world!

just hope they believe me.

NXT and NEM are awesome just stick with that!
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / iCoin - The only coin going up in price on coinmarket.io on: February 18, 2014, 01:30:15 AM
Do you guys think this is a pump or does this baby have a lot more legs to fly, price is up a lot since it launched on the exchanges?

The coin is continually getting better as the devs keep adding more, it's doing a slow build up instead of a flashy entrance that a lot of coins had. I think the name
will also have a lot to do with it's success esp in the mainstream.

I Could be wrong though, only time will tell.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin launches geticoin.com - Kimoto Gravity Update Next week. on: February 17, 2014, 11:39:23 AM
Good news.

It seems that iCoin will be added to CoinMarketCap in 48 hours.
It was added to "Coming soon" section today.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=199685.0

Aren't the Devs meant to be changing to the new system before it goes live here or was that just coinwarz?
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin launches geticoin.com - Kimoto Gravity Update Next week. on: February 16, 2014, 09:32:37 PM
why did u get rid of original logo/graphic ? they were awesome

I also thought the same thing, they were awesome, but this new simplistic design has really grown on me lately and even now I don't feel it would be a good thing
going back to the old design. This design will work much better in the real world if that is the plan for the coin.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin launches geticoin.com - Kimoto Gravity Update Next week. on: February 16, 2014, 05:41:59 AM
Someone big is dumping  at 0.00002201 Shocked

It might be due to our btc/ICN market that that went down on Cryptorush, this will return soon as they update the bitcoin wallet.

Also even with our current Network hashrate and price we are very profitable to mine at those prices and a few miners have caught onto that.

Our plan is to make everyone who sells at these prices regret it in a couple months from now. Smiley

RDP/BTC was trading at well over 10000 on coinmarket.io, it has fallen under 2000 now and has less volume then us.

I don't regret buying, I've been thinking to buy more... Smiley Somebody sold me 30000 iCoins at 3000 sat. It's very cheap. All week I wanted to buy at this price and now... I'll take a seat in this airplane, fasten seat belts, order champagne and will start to watch. Those who sell now just don't have exp. to analyze, what happened with VertCoin and MaxCoin, for example... It was community driven to the moon and now I'm on this iCoin airplane.

If iCoin will cost just as now, 0.02$, it's market cap will be $150k. It's closely the bottom of the of list. I'll wait cap of $10M and growth 30-50x price. Smiley Or maybe I'll sell some at $1M... I'll think later.

All these coins that get all the attention on bitcointalk always fall down, doge being the exception. Like litesire said bitcointalk is not a reflection on how well a coin will do in the future.

People will be cutting themselves that they didn't get in at these prices, all it takes is one big announcement for iCoin and this current price will double in a heartbeat.

I have to admit the new logo is really growing on me, I really like it now!  Good job to your designer! At first I was like why did they do that but I see now and damn I love it!
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin launches geticoin.com on: February 15, 2014, 05:13:19 AM
This coin has AMAZING potential but like I have said before you will have to go outside of the crypto community and straight into mainstream. Merchants will be more then willing to take 10 000 iCoin even if
there is no buyers on the exchanges for a chance that this coin could excel, look at the 10 000 bitcoin for a pizza example.

The one potential problem is your developer, he updated us more when he was in the hospital... the digibyte developers are constantly updating the community.

I know the rest of the team is communicating and maybe the dev is using TeamICoin to update us, but captainhook account has been extremely quiet since he got back and
we were told he would be more active on the forums.

With that being said it's really good that a android application is being developed for iCoin .

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin launches geticoin.com on: February 14, 2014, 07:28:03 AM
The buy orders are drying up on coinmarket.io
Price decline imminent.

Albeit correct, it's only temporary. Just starting to get our name out in the community and the slight dip will be an opportune time to buy. We have major plans in the works to increase community awareness in other facets besides the forums. Looking forward to what will happen these next couple weeks - Ridg
Whole market is down not only ICN. Other coins dropped 50-70%.

ps: Time to buy, just choose the right coin  Wink

Steven is right, a lot of coins have taken a dive in price, the only 2 I can see that have maintained is Dogecoin and iCoin, iCoin is a little hidden gem.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin on Coinmarket.io and SwissCEX on: February 13, 2014, 10:22:20 AM
Are there any plans to change to KGW?

Yes symbiont, this has been on the minds of the iCoin team and there's been discussion between @Viperbass and the head developer in regards to this. Perhaps he can hop on and give you a more concise update / timeline shortly Smiley

Ok. Thx.

I would like to invest more in this coin. I like it very much. But without KGW there is no way to survive. As soon as icoin will hit coinwarz or a bigger exchange some mining farms and/or multipools will jump in and let the coin die on a high diff. I have seen it many times in the past.

By he way nice new logo and website!

The dev in charge of the coin is captainhook, just PM him if you need confirmation. I would recommend this gets implemented before the coin gets listed on coinwarz.

Let's make a poll for KGW or current PPC algo.

Poll: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=463225

I have voted for KGW based on what I read on Megacoin thread.

Well, as Megacoin follower I can say, do it. It's a damn good improvement for the regular hashers and it ensures the network just keeps on going. Back when it was implemented in Megacoin I, as a smalltime gpu miner, noticed a huge difference. Before the Gravitiy Well, multi pools and alike would come, skyrocket difficulty, and then go away again, leaving the difficulty to be resolved by the regular hashers. That would take a while, meaning that people like me with a simple gpu would barely make a difference anymore and see very little return. Also, such high difficulty means it takes more time for the network to toss about confirmations on transactions, right?! After the implementation of Kimoto's Gravity Well the difficulty would spike just the same as soon as multi pools come rape harvesting, but as soon as they move one, the difficulty would adjust about instantly. It made mining worth while again.

With scrypt asics around the corner, will such code make a difference? I think it will. Hugely. In general, the more asics are hashing, the more the difficulty rises. The Gravity Well won't make that go away. But what you do have to fear are the asics that will join multi pools, and perhaps even more such pools then there are now. Okay, it may be the same as now, except that the difficulty spikes would become two or three times more powerful. How much time will it take to solve that and bring the network back to a workable level with the current amount of regular miners?! It will take hours and hours to recover while the network struggles. It might even take days to recover. While that's not likely since Feathercoin and Megacoin have strong networks, it will have a noticeable impact nonetheless. Coins with lesser networks should be very worried. In the past I've seen coins struggle for weeks even. In the long run that is lethal obviously.

So, yeah...

59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin on Coinmarket.io and SwissCEX on: February 12, 2014, 09:11:55 PM
We will start by executing social media and PR/article release campaigns to websites and publications that may have mentioned Bitcoin/Litecoin in the past but don't neccessarily have a devoted interest to cryptocurrencies. (Banking/Finance/Business/Popular Trends niches) and upon gathering widespread attention, we will have a seamless process of educating those who are new to digital currency on our new website, as they download their wallets. Furthermore, we will have a video series focused on tutorials and support for the general consumers / merchants as well Smiley That's our strategy in a nutshell. There's obviously other moving pieces involved and it gets a bit more granular, but I hope that gives you a general idea.

Ok. But what about the other new coins - as DigiByte and Redd - that have the same target, the same ideas of strategy and both seem to be more convincing for the people ( at least judging by the number of posts on this forum)? How do you think you could overcome them and become the real... facebook coin?
I hope you understand that I'm asking all these because there is something that attracts me to this coin and I plan to invest in it, but I want to clarify if you really have a good strategy to promote it.

Terrible coin names made for geeks like us, won't ever get into the real world. Digibyte sounds like a tech company, not a currency... it definitely won't get any panties wet. Sorry to be rude Wink
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICN] iCoin on Coinmarket.io and SwissCEX on: February 12, 2014, 04:58:14 AM
Really shocked the price has stayed above 4000 on coinmarket.io with the extra flood of coins from the mining promotion.

This while bitcoin price has dropped along with every other currency besides Dogecoin.
