So we can declare this coin death ?? 1 mining month wasted

Well hopefully, the CEO has something up his sleeve.

Not only that, this coin is the same as any other if you take away the store, are all of them dead?
What is up with all of the gloom and doom talk? It's like everyone is upset that they can't stop going to work because they are running a couple 7950's at the house or something.

waltsmith

People need to learn to accept that they cant get things overnight. Unfortunately thats life. I am fortunate that i don't have to work with or without the miner, its more of a hobby now. I am always active in seeking my next investments or business ventures, regardless of my financial position. I am planning my coin and working on putting my coin together, but it would be good to see cryptos start to move up the ladder again.. waiting on my alpha technologies Asic miner to be delivered, then i will pump and dump some of my coins to buy GPUcoin. So it doesn't matter to me how long this takes i am still going to be here.. unless things change in the mean time..

Facebook IPO investors recently won in court a refund for their IPO investment because Facebook refused to disclose financial information proving they were using the money like they promised they would.

Real IPOs are regulated to protect investors.  Unfortunately GPUCoin held a fake IPO so they think they should not be held accountable to the investors.

I am curious as to the legality of coins these days holding fake IPOs.  IPOs are regulated.  My friend tells me that coin IPOs may be illegal, and we have been arguing about it.

Regardless of legalities, GPUCoin would do a lot better if it was ran by someone more competent in running a business.

I think.. just having more frequent updates would be beneficial, and if more people used the store. GPUC would do really well then.

While I understand your frustrations, hindsight is always 20/20, and if you'd researched Virginia LLC's like many folks did, you'd know it's just a company without investors and can't issues shares or IPO's. Demanding he act like he's a corporation when he's not just because you lacked the competency to research an investment.. is not his fault.

Hey, I am just using the words he used.  I know that legally he cannot hold an IPO,  but since he used the word "IPO" and continues to call us 'investors' I am expecting him to follow the rules set in place that regulate IPOs and protect 'investors'.

This is my opinion, and I do have the right to complain as an 'investor'.

Even if this is not a legal IPO he still has to follow some laws pertaining to the selling of products.  He sold coins us coins based on a number of promises such as spending 100% of the investor's money to purchase a batch of GPUs.  They so far have failed to show this is true.

Maybe give them some time? For all you know, they already ordered the GPUs and are just waiting for them to arrive.

I think you may find that anyone can offer an IPO(initial public offering), but you may need to be registered as an PLC or corporation in the USA, unless the IPO can be regarded as a Private investment. , they as owners(Directors) can offer shares in their company for exchange of capital. Saying that, the legalities regarding crypto's are vague. Bitcoin is regarded as property and not currency, so you have just given the director some of your property and not cash effectively for exchange of more property on a like for like basis. with a similar value at the time of issue. I myself, would have probably worded the initial sale of coins as a private investment and nothing more.

Anyway, its only property.. And if the coin was doing really well on the exchanges, i doubt any one of you would have a single complaint. Anyway, why didnt you do your research first. As every investment requires some degree of research and carries a risk, a risk that you might not get back your initial investment and could end up losing some or all of your initial investment.

Now, none of us want that! Give them time, lets see if they have anything to offer to the development of GPUC.. I would have never gone with LLC myself, but it was not mine or our choice to make. A plc has so many complications for tax purposes. I would have chosen a LTD instead personally.

Think it may be different in the USA as these rules apply for UK residents. I just read that the LLC is the most flexible it seems, maybe equivalent to the LTD standard from the UK. In fact, the LLC maybe a perfect solution. As there is less paperwork compared to UK similar version. that requires all taxes to be reportable to company house and also HMRC. Looks like LLC sits in between sole trader(UK) and LTD company structures.

I am currently going through an investment i purchased some years ago, and waiting on the company to offer shares. As i own private equity in a company in Sweden. Who have just recently become a PLC and will be offering us our shares to trade on the stock market, hopefully before the end of this month. So i have had quite a bit of experience with shares/stock as a private investor.

GPUC gaining on FlappyCoin on Mintpal. Less than 800 votes between them.

You see thats the problem here, If you people think just being on an exchange will change anything your our of your minds.

my suggesting on making Gpuc rise ...

1-reduce block reward

2-Change the fucking N-scrypt algo .... everyone hate that .... so buggy so hot ....and by changing i mean going to HVC-Qbit-X11  ... things that run cool .... HVC best choice since its nvida friendly ... also Gpu friendly which is the whole thing about this coin

3-people stop bitching about price

4-making more people know that they can buy cheaper rigs for gpuc .. through forum twitter ads

Cant agree more..

Sad

I am getting tired of losing money on GPUCoin.

I was picking up coins throughout the week because I wanted enough to buy a toxic, and now it looks like the day of the sale the price has shot down.

I am very upset.  I have been an investor with GPUCoin since the beginning, and am getting screwed over again and again.

I lost a lot of money with the IPO, and now am losing money with the store.

I don't see how people are supposed to buy enough coins on the market, with the lack of liquidity, to buy one of the cards from the store.  Obviously buying throughout the week is not going to work.  I paid over 8 satoshi for my GPUCoins.

Sad

What sucks is GPUCoin and Jaymes will make money regardless, and they apparently do not care at all for investors.  This is why they take absolutely no action to fix the problems.

Quit your god damn whining and man up!  Investing in anything is a gamble, sometimes you win and sometimes you don't.  I bought into the IPO and you don't see me complaining about the price.  There's an expression that says, "shit or get off the pot".  Either sell your coins at a low rate and be done with GPUC or wait, yes WAIT, for the price to go up and cash out; just stop whining here in the thread about how you're supposedly being screwed.

I think the way Jaymes is running this business constitutes disregard for the investors to the point of "screwing us" over.
For example we have not heard back from Jaymes about doing anything about the excessive inflation going on.  The market is getting flooded with coins, devaluing the investors share, but nothing is done because the store can still make money.

The investors funded the store.  Jaymes and the store are making money using those funds, while the investors are losing money.  If the people running GPUCoin do not take action to help the investors make back their money then they are screwing the investors over.
And on top of that Jaymes and the GPUCoin store refuse to release information about what is happening to the money.  They refuse to disclose how much of the profit they are going to keep and how much will be used to help grow the store.  They refuse to disclose what happened to the funds in the first place, which is odd.

If this was a real IPO then GPUCoin would be held accountable.  Courts have ruled that investors were entitled to a refund for their IPO investment if the company did not practice full disclosure to prove where the funds were being spent.
I think that most coins are doing something essentially illegal by selling "investment into an IPO" in the form of a coin payout.  Legally companies holding IPOs have to follow a number of rules, as IPOs are regulated.  Most coins are selling investment into 'fake IPOs' and I am curious to see if there are any legal problems because of this.  Personally I think it is misleading.

This is my opinion.
Guys, just hang in there, even if Jaymes has deserted you all, I am sure the Devs havent. Give them one more chance to sort this out at least. Wait for the coin to reach mintpal. As soon as the coin gets on that exchange, it should rise. Cant say how much , but if they can time some good news into the exchange launch, then i am sure this will work ot ok. Also coins have no regulation, so not sure they wold qualify, You are just passing your money to someone in the trust that they are honest, so far they have been, so lets see what happens. If all fails, i am going to work on a coin and i would like the dev to help. I have a very good idea. Not only with a coin of my own, but will work for future coins also.

for a gamer who is not interested in destroying their GPU's have rebelled against the miners mainly due to the huge price increases they have received when trying to purchase a new GPU model.

Not everyone wants to mine coins. They are gamers, and true to gaming and thats it.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | GPU sale Friday~ Get a TOXIC R9 280X for $300 on: April 01, 2014, 09:55:00 PM
I'm still mining GPUC because investment, support, and daily mining profits aren't worth it to me enough to worry about (yay new high paying job Cheesy).

We're not completely dead in the water, still top 100ish on coinmarketcap, and there's plenty of coins below us still being mined...

GPUs are still going to be purchased, even just for gaming. If there could be a way for non mining persons (PC Gamers) to buy GPUC and go through the store, it would be real helpful. Perhaps a service where someone requests the purchase and the coin is auto purchased from exchange and provided to them with a temporarily wallet, at a fee a couple percent greater than the exchange and transfer costs. The viability of this would still depend on much greater marketing and public awareness.

Your kidding right, gamers hate miners..

The best people right now GPUc needs to attract are the buyers on the exchange
Why?? I'm a PC gamer, I actually use a GTX680 for gaming and mining simultaneously, while in the same PC using a 5970 for mining.

Gamers like mining because it gives them free $ for the expensive cards they're already buying/using for gaming. Makes no sense that they'd hate mining.
Oh ok maybe your the only one.. Cheesy
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Launch 02MAR14 | IPO Available on: April 01, 2014, 09:52:35 PM
I wouldn't relaunch either. Choose the right fork and implement it in a new wallet. Everyone has to update. Some will lose their coins, some not.

I would definitely relaunch.  It looks like too many coins where being issued, and only to a few miners.

This guy spotted issues with coin distribution on time, check the date of the quote.. if only someone listened to him, but he was ignored..

This was from the first coin launch, the figures were fixed, i mentioned having the n-scrypt But no one listened..

Ill give you an idea, why doesn't the CEO and team offer people gpucoins for any ideas that you use, then we might be more prepared to offer our services. As right now, there are other coins that also have potential.

This is my suggestion and i wait to tell you a couple of ideas, but only a couple.

We had competitions for this already, that gave coins out. If the community and people really cares, why would you need to get paid to give out ideas that might save the coin?

If you have ideas, talk about it, get it used.
Im not saying competitions, they are ok, but suggestions that will help the coin. Remember we are not the main beneficiaries of the coin the CEO and DEVs are.. So why not pay for our ideas.

Wow, the sale is really good news for the coin. The OP must be taking a huge hickey to get this thing rolling again at this price. Oh, and BTW, we get on another exchange and BAM, DDOS attack. Is this common at all sites and I am just noticing it more were GPUC is listed? Or do I smell a fish?

waltsmith

What site has had a ddos attack, are you referring to mintcoin now?

Its a good idea as all the other coins are falling in price, it will attract the attention of more people who will see the prices rise. But i would have waited or coincide the launch on mintpal with the offer, unless this is planned.

On Friday the 4th of April GPU Coin is having a massive sale starting between the hours of 1700~2000 EST and going until stock is sold out.  The rest of the Sapphire Toxic R9 280X cards will be sold for $300 USD equivalant of GPUC at the market value and any person who orders a Sapphire R7 240 card at our already low price of $27 USD equivalant of GPUC will be entered in a drawing for another free R7 240, with a total of 5 winners.  Due to stock limits, we will be limiting purchases to one card per customer.

https://gpucoinstore.com
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=469887.0

This is to make ready for some more cards that are arriving.

Nice, what are the new cards and why new??
