301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Eth->Pascal->Eth AMD driver KO on: January 29, 2017, 09:48:52 AM
I have no idea why it does this, but I got an easier solution, just reset settings from wattman tool. It worked for me

I will try it ASAP.
If it works for me too you have saved me hours!

303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Eth->Pascal->Eth AMD driver KO on: January 28, 2017, 10:58:08 AM
Hi Everyone!
As many of you I was mining ETH with claymore miner 9.4, then I switched to the new most profit coin Pascal.
Since this night it's quite unprofitable, so I would like go back to ETH, but I can't.

As happened to a lot of people during ZEC/ETH period, when I switched back to ETH claymore miner get's stuck almost immediately.

I managed to solve the problem with a DDU driver uninstall and re-install, but that's damn boring since I have to do it manually.

Someone has a deep insight about what's happening?
Why the driver should be modified after mining?
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Lbry mining? on: January 28, 2017, 10:45:56 AM
You can mine LBRY with amd happily. You haven't done something wrong with drivers or config. I had a few 470 mining LBRY for weeks
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Most profit coins today on: January 28, 2017, 09:26:05 AM
Today

1070:
LBRY - $2.29 (290 mh)

Fury Х:
LBRY privat miner - $1.98 (252 mh)

390:
LBRY privat miner - $1.49 (190 mh)

480 or 470 8gb (BIOS tweak need):
LBRY privat miner - $1.49 (190 mh)

470 4gb (BIOS tweak need):
LBRY privat miner - $1.26 (160 mh)

Second hand cards:

295x2:
LBRY privat miner:  $2.91 (360 mh)

6930:
LBRY 60 mh: $0.48

Where can i buy this LBRY private miner?
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: moded card problem (mod = good but changing clocks is fucking up my hash rates) on: January 28, 2017, 09:21:48 AM
please help guys

my main problem is that individually when i change mem clock the cards increase but as soon as i try to alter more than one cards memory clock on trixx then my hash rates for every card after the first card dont work properly

I empirically discovered that multiple cards modded with exactly same GPU and MEMORY clock work better when put together.
I would suggest to set the lower supported GPU and memory clock and try if something improves
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XFX RX 480 4gb on: January 27, 2017, 10:55:07 PM
I have a non reference XFX RX 480 and I see other 4gb cards that people have modded the bios to achieve 26mh/s.
Any idea for premade modded bios's?
Edits memory strap timings on your GPU and edits in BIOS or MSI AfterBurner "Powerlimit", do it +25-50. After that 29-30Mhs on ETH.

What timings should I change? Can you send me a configuration?r

For heriox or elpida copy from 1500 to all above
For samsung use 1750 strap

308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buyer Beware - MSI RX 470 Quality on: January 27, 2017, 12:07:27 PM
Guess what , not only MSI rx series dies for no obvious reason, one of my MSI 1070 gaming X just blew on me , nothing extraordinary OC wise , +100 core , +250 mem , temps kept not higher than 70c at all times. Was running for around 3 months.

If you haven't done anything strange simply bring it back to the seller
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problem 3 graphic card Rx 470 nitro + Samsung and 1 rx470 nitro+ Hynix on: January 27, 2017, 08:47:28 AM
after testing the card alone and with a samsung the hynix seem continually send invalid share.
may the driver of card are not compatible with two different kind of memory.
I use Di( disable card in claymore as test)

I have a rig with 5 samsung memory and one with 4Heriox+1Elpida and they work just with with every driver. So this is not the problem
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XFX RX 480 4gb on: January 26, 2017, 12:21:12 PM
Download polarisbioseditor and edit bios in timings, remember that new drivers does no longer accept modded bios.
You should go for 16.9.10 or 16.10.3.

After that you should try to increase memory clock and maybe do some undervolting
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why use ATI cards for GPU mining? on: January 26, 2017, 08:26:08 AM
Well, it seems it's still popular question. As it was said and as I know, AMD’s better performance is due to having far more shader cores than the equivalent Nvidia cards. If we would say it in more easier way, Nvidia GPUs are more like CPUs, in that they have only a few processors that do work, but faster. ATI GPUs have slower processors, but a lot more of them. So that's why amd is better for mining but not in gaming.
Are you sure about that?
IMHO the main difference is not about hardware, but about software!
Historically mining software have been developed for AMD cards, things are now slowly changing.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Minergate vs Nicehash on: January 25, 2017, 07:33:03 PM
In nicehash I do not understand how to be paid in altcoins and not Bitcoin directly

I haven't used nice hash in months, but since i remember you cannot
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining completely dead to noobs on: January 25, 2017, 07:27:49 AM
Is there anything its viable to mine with an average PC at this point? Any half decent returns?

Thanks

Having an average PC, let's say with GTX 970 can mine you it's cost in 6-12 months. If your expectations are realistic you should feel nice having a possibility to earn by using the videocard itself.
In 6-12 months you will be able to sell 970 and the mined coins and buy 1070 easily. This was my idea until I sold my 970 and bought 2 RX 480  Roll Eyes

There are many variables in mining: electricity cost, hardware cost, price fluctuations, difficulty rise, possibility of coin attack, newer hardware releases, plus a lot to learn, watch, follow and try.

Crypto is here and it will only grow in years to come.
But to have a decent and good income one needs investments. Use online calculators and educate yourself to get started.  Cool

That's a very useful point of view. If you have a pretty decent gaming pc you can mine with you GPU and maybe even CPU, you will get some money (let's say 1.5$/day) and in a few months you will be able to get sell your current GPU and buy new gear.
Take take about your hardware, remove dust and don't let it overheat! Otherwise not only you will not gain money, but you will lost your nice gaming pc
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Would now still be a good time to get into Altcoin GPU mining? on: January 24, 2017, 07:30:12 PM
It really depends on what you are looking for and how you are into IT.

If you are looking for a GPU rig, that mines ETH/ZEC/XMR you have a chance to ROI in about 7months, but you will not get rich.

Otherwise you should spend your time looking for a coin that will pump, in that case you can really ROI in days. This takes time and also luck
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Abstract Concept? on: January 24, 2017, 07:25:42 PM
Yes it's related to cryptocurrency. And it's about mining altcoin on older GPUs with no OpenCL Support

You reason can be considered pretty noble, but cards without openCL support are too weak to be used these days
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why use ATI cards for GPU mining? on: January 24, 2017, 02:14:13 PM
I'm extremely curious about how things will turn in a one year, in last months we have seen many developers joining the nvidia community.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help with GPU mining RIG on: January 24, 2017, 01:33:13 PM
Also I have a question, wouldn't be 6 GPU's too much on 1 motherboard, so instead I can get like 8 GPU's and split them up on 2 motherboards by 4? So it will be easier to see if there's any problem?

If you have 2Mobos. You power draw will go up. As you need 2Cpu's and 2 HDD and etc. That is unwanted. Better get good mobo which can handle 6 GPU's and mine on that. It also depends on your elect price. If it's low then older 280/280x 290/290x and 3xx series cards are better buy. They draw a bit more elect. But can be had for chepo in eBay or local ad sites. It also matters where you live, those link that collegues provided where from USA. If you live in europe you might need to check for diff. equipment.

Also buying 2 700-800 PSu's might be cheaper.

Yeah, I was thinking of getting like 8 GPU's and make 2 rigs so I can use like 2 PSU's but I haven't decided 100% yet.

I want to advise you to use the server power supplies 2.500 watt, that's enough for two rigs. They are much safer ATX PSU.

Aren't like EVGA Supernova 1000W G2 Gold okay for this type of job? Or you are saying if I wanna get 6 GPU's on a rig and run that PSU?
EVGA Supernova 1000W G2 is completely fine. Advantage of server PSUs is that they are MUCH cheaper and much more efficient. Minimum efficiency of server power supply is 92%+ which is like gold for PC PSUs. So why don't save yourself some money and get product that is actually made to be ran 24/7 at high load ?

Which server power supply would you recommend, I mean I have seen people using EVGA supernova 1000W G2 and they run 24/7 without problems.

Yeah, they are excellent but expensive.
You can get a nice server PSU with half money!
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problem 3 graphic card Rx 470 nitro + Samsung and 1 rx470 nitro+ Hynix on: January 24, 2017, 11:39:46 AM
I run Claymore 9.3 then i try 9.6 and 9.7
its seems for me its the hynix graphic card? (same card rx 470 nitro + ) cause invalid share in several pool or some error in the miner claymore)

or may its too much card 4 but the supernova 750 w Gold have 4 slot for Graphic card

i know how to use other miner

Yeah, a 750W PSU should be used at 650W or less to be stable.
If you remove a samsung and plug the heriox instead everything works properly?
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problem 3 graphic card Rx 470 nitro + Samsung and 1 rx470 nitro+ Hynix on: January 24, 2017, 11:04:10 AM
Hello i really need help if someone know

i try to mine with 3 rx470 nitro + sapphire and was good it some samsung memory,

then i have add another rx470 nitro + sapphire (so the 4th and some problems arrive

like :

Error in server response
"id":1,"jsonrpc":"2.0","error":{"code":-1,"message":"Lowdifficultyshare"}}

or (( some invalid share on minergate) -0.1xmr balance and -0.1xmr two consecutives days )

when i disable this card hynix it was mining good in one pool (monero.miningpoolhub.com)
no json error low difficulty share

i have use gpuz to watch the card the 4th and i noticed it was Hynix and not Samsung

is it a problem of compatibily mining?

should i put this on in another computer for mining with her? or give back( but i will have to pay a bit the return and catch a good one samsung?)

Best regard hoping in the answer  Roll Eyes

Can you run a reliable miner? Wolf0 or claymore
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining completely dead to noobs on: January 23, 2017, 07:26:57 PM
Mining here in the PH, is not gonna get you close to even. Electricity is gold, $.3-$.4/kwh , although we have here 'jumpers' though its really illegal and can make you lose your electric line for good.

Mining has never been for noobs, neither before nor now. GPUs and cheap electricity have always been requirements, the difference is that some people may have been able to mine something easy with simple equipment and then have gained in appreciation.

how could they have mined something easy?

Right now you can mine in 30 sec downloading claymore miner and running an example too from the README. With the difference that right now it's not so profitable, but a few months ago even a guy with a couple GPU would have earn something on ETH, just as an example
