Economy / Services / Looking for Whatsminer M20S unlocked firmware
|
on: April 23, 2020, 03:41:48 PM
|
I am running a mining farm based on Whatminers M20S. We need a custom firmware for the Whatsminer m20s and possibly a partner that will provide support for further ASIC we will decide to use in our operation.
The features we are looking for currently are the following:
-Fan mangement (change rmp speed) Overclock: -Voltage management -Frequency management - Mining management (start/stop) - Expose values readed by whatsminer tools (power consume, ...) -API to manage all this requirements
If someone is interested could send me a PM

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / BEAM Mining - New Equihash 150/5 Algorithm
|
on: December 30, 2018, 02:33:15 PM
|
BEAM is one of the two main projects (along with GRIN) that are implementing MimbleWimble to obtain a privacy focus scalable blockchain. IMHO both of them are very interesting, even though I personally prefer GRIN, and they are waking up old good miners. I have been able to retrieve some information on the official GitHub page here: https://github.com/BeamMW/beam/wiki/BEAM-MiningThe windows miner which is supposed to do GPU mining seems not to have the GPU mining option. (I didn't spend much time trying) The main net should start in days, so it's time to warm up our mining rigs. What are the mining pools available? Which is the best NVidia miner available to the public? I would like to use this thread to share information related to BEAM mining. Share your thoughts and experience

Hi everyone,
I am interested in buying Bitmain coupons of any size greater or equal to 100$. I can also buy batches of coupons if available. Payment in BTC / ZEC / XMR / ETH or any currency I can shapeshift to.
Please note that I WILL ACCEPT ONLY PAYMENTS WITH ESCROW.
PM me if interested,
Best regards, Ambros

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Mining Historical Charts in USD/Day

Well, with ETH almost breaking yearly lows, profitability with a RX 470 4GB is down to a measly $0.75 before fees and electricity.
Pretty crazy since back in June 2017, I think this GPU was pulling in around $7.50 while dual mining SIA. However since electricity is fixed and not a ratio of profitability it can mean $0.00 daily net profit after electricity cost for some.
What to do with these GPUs? Sell ? Hold ? Start actually using them to play Video games ?
Thanks for the sources of good information. Since the topic is not too crowded it was easy to get read it all and get an overall view about where things are going. Right now ETH profitability is getting lower and lower because all the nvidia cards which used to mine Equihash are turning to Dagger Hashimoto. The situation is still pretty fine for ASICs and FPGA mining farm, but I think that it's deep winter for people that bought GPUs in late 2017 or early 2018. The thing is scaring me most is the absence of a good PoW powered project. Everyone seems to believe that the best way (actually is just the simplest and cheapest) to launch a crypto project is doing an ICO and live in ETH or start with ERC20 and swap for a DPOS coin afterward. Seems that no one is actually interested in decentralization (which is the main reason to stay here). Is anyone aware of a good PoW powered project that is worth supporting?

Those cards were pretty good. I have some rigs based on that architecture in my mining operations and they run just fine for months. Regarding the price, 2400 since a medium-high price if we consider just the hardware, this changes if it is an already built one since it prices also the ability and time to build it.
Right now I would not buy it because: - Next generation of GPUs will come out in a few months (probably we will have it on our farms around September) - FPGA rumors about every GPU algorithm are getting stronger - ASICs for many GPU algorithms are being released faster than ever
I would be happy to read different/opposite opinions and discuss about pro and cons

This is probably April's fool, but I strongly believe that ASIC will come soon to the market.
At the beginning of ETH many people were claiming that the algorithm was not ASIC proof and that building this kind of hardware was affordable and convenient. I am not an hardware expert, but considering those claims and the recent rumors, the change they are real is very high

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System

I noticed that the connections to smOS, both web interface, and os-server, are using an expired SSL certificate. This is a potential security thread and therefore those connections are blocked by many firewalls.
Is anyone having problems lately? My dashboard is stuck since days and it seems that it is not able to update any data. This is the situation for a few days.
The topic seems quiet so I suppose that this is due to my firewall.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think bitmain is secretly mining ETH with ASICs?

You trolls want to create an excuse for everything instead of facing reality. It's amazing how persistent you all trolls are saying that hashrate increase were gpus instead of asics. Get over it and accept it because asic manufactures already unofficially announced eth asics now you trolls need to face reality and I know how hard is to face that gpu mining might die in 2018 cause you trolls know that if ethash is compromised and so equihash and the denial in this thread shows how much you trolls are trying to hide the fact that asics have been for while mining eth and equihash.
That definitely possible. BTW I strongly believe that this huge difficulty increase in the last months is due to alt crash. For quite a while during 2017 ETH was not the best coin to mine, there were plenty of scam coins with much higher profitability. Right now the market seems to get closer to fair value, so all those dummy projects are slowly going down, making ETH the best coin to mine again. Basically everyone is mining ETH right now.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (5) 1050ti rig question
|
on: March 06, 2018, 12:55:02 PM

I'm new to mining, I just put together a 1050ti rig with 5 cards. I'm running simple miner doing a total of around 900 sol/s, around 170 to 190 sol/s per card.
I tried mining zcash for about 10 hours yesterday and then tried zencash for about 10 hours. In that time I made .004 Zcash ($1.50) and 0.009 Zencash ($0.28). Which would be 75 cents per day per card on zcash and 14 cents a day on Zen cash.
That seems pretty low or is that about right?
Hi! I do have plenty of those cards. Right now you will get more mining Ethash based algorithm. You will reach top performances on that algorithm with core -400 and mem +800. I personally set the power limit to 60W With this settings, you will hash around 15Mhash. Also you could mine some medium size coin, with a possible price increase in the future. My advice is to mine ELLA on http://ella.pool.sexy/disclaimer: I am the co-founder of pool.sexy, feel free to drop a message on our telegram or discord if you need further help

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What fan speed is better?
|
on: March 03, 2018, 09:43:56 AM

There is no correct or right way to set the fan speed. I have many cards from 2014 that are still running with an average temperature of 85 degrees. And they never had a problem.
Byt if you wanna be more careful you can trust Nvidia and use the temperature they advise, so 75 degrees. I personally set the minimum fan speed to 50% because I want to avoid driver related problems
