It's not that I believe I will rise from the dead if I'm killed, it's that I believe no one can kill me if they tried. Tomarto Tomayto, it's just another version of the same delusional narratives that play out time and time again, particularly amongst users/abusers of stimulant drugs.

I answered human as "I am a cybernetic organism, living tissue over a metal endoskeleton" was not available Trouble is, as amusing as Dank's delusional psychosis appears to be for some people, telling him something that reinforces his delusions, namely, that there exists people walking around who are actually robots underneath their skin, could lead to tragic results. I know you are joking, everyone else reading your post knows you are joking, Dank, however, will interpret it as some sort of truth that will be dismissed by others who are not as 'aware' as he and that you are taunting him, you know, the robot you who knows they can declare themselves to be a robot because nobody will believe you actually are a robot underneath your skin, so you declare it to mock him, according to his psychosis, anyway. Everything he states, including his belief that he is 'God' and will rise again from the dead if he is killed, is actually something he believes. Not all the time 100%, but he will be phasing in and out of particular sets of belief structures according to his changing environment and interactions. It is actually quite tragic to see his various narratives playing out. They're just so typical.

so your saying this coin is only for smart people?
That's not what I said at all. I think you can quite easily ascertain what I was saying, namely, gambling on a mathematical formulae that is guaranteed to ensure the 'House' takes a percentage over time, means that a gambler is probably going to lose in the short term, highly likely to lose in the medium term and guaranteed to lose in the long term.

|
For a community primarily consisting of people who are supposed to have an above-average grasp of technical and mathematical concepts, the enthusiasm for throwing coins at a gaming system guaranteed to lose them money over time, baffles me.

This statement: I'm fairly technologically savvy and it is odd I am unable to figure this out. Is at odds with this one: I have read posts earlier which mention "unlocking wallet". What is this "unlock" feature? Also mine is greyed out (I'm not exactly sure what exactly it does). I'm assuming you haven't actually encrypted your wallet yet (set password for it). I strongly suggest you do. Once you have, the greyed out 'unlock' feature will not be greyed out.

What the FUD? What the. . .SPELLING? Nothing to do with Vericoin.

Any movement on the Whitepaper yet?
Whilst branded product giveaways are fun they don't exactly tackle the criticisms and concerns people are expressing about this coin, namely, that it is lacking substance and is simply an extremely well-marketed series of promises.
Were you to actually have a technically superior implementation of this coin's features, one that was demonstrably so by way of a Whitepaper that describes the back-end processes with the same degree of accomplishment as you market the front-end, this coin would have inherent value that would lift it out of the quagmire it has been sitting in for quite some time now, well, quite some time in cryptocurrency-land anyway.

To be fair to him, I've got the same issue on my three A2's and they are online and have properly failed over to their second pool but are still showing as being rented several hours after the rental period ended.

See this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=644517.msg7243215#msg7243215They gained access to exchange accounts and knew that if they tried to withdraw funds it would likely trigger an email notification to you, so they, instead, sold whatever altcoins were on that account for BTC and then used the BTC to buy their shitcoin at high prices and then sell them low again. Rinse and repeat until the balance is zero. This meant that they could trade whatever Honorcoin they were holding, selling them high and then buying them back low. TBH, it was a pretty clever scam. No hacking involved, just count on a good mix of stupidity and greed. Let me just repeat the concept that acted as the bait, "Free Money". There. That should help you recognise when you should be suspicious. As for the BTT account, well lots of people have interesting information in their PM's stored here. Perhaps information that could be valuable. Plus, as well, in time the account could be used to con people who don't know it is a compromised account and trust what the person is telling them because they see they are a long-time member with history. That is why I wouldn't trust this 'new' Honorcoin group who are trying to relaunch it, it's just as likely that the scammers from the first fraud are part of the new project, if only in a hidden sense.

I've previously had my A2's mining at Nicehash with no problems other than a slightly lower reported hashrate on the pool end. Didn't have any issues with switchovers though.
Where are your A2's from, maybe the firmware needs upgrading?

A discussion group of Scrypt ASIC miners I am in have noticed that the last couple of days have seen massive increases in the number of rig rentals across all service providers. That would explain the slow-down in the website, it's overloaded.
Take a look at leaserig as well as Betarigs, there's hardly any Scrypt miners available at this time. There is something of a goldrush going on right now, which I'm assuming would be associated with Silkcoin, no?

Wow. Normally I detest the type of post I am about to write, but I write it, not as some form of juvenile two-fingered-salute to the defeated but, rather, in astonishment at what I have just witnessed.
What a fucking truly epic smackdown!
Seriously, that was jaw-on-the-floor shock and awe.

That's it, I've had it trading with this coin! . . .I'm moving my stash off the exchanges and into the wallet for staking while I patiently await the natural progression of this project. I refuse to be drawn into further market manipulation, this isn't a day-trading coin, it's value will increase accordingly as the tech and the devs move it forward. I have utmost confidence in them and the coin and, more importantly, every reason to have that confidence.

FFS, noobs, will you please try reading some of the information in this thread, just look a few posts up where I have explained that Honorcoin was exposed as a criminal fraud over the weekend. They compromised forum, email and exchange accounts from people who used the same password on their website as their other accounts and, apart from sock-puppet hyping of the vapourware coin, they stole exchange funds from exchange accounts, not by withdrawing it, but by buying high and selling low into their own shitcoin in order not to trigger withdrawal confirmation emails etc.
It was not just a scamcoin, it was a criminal scheme and is most likely still active to some degree due to the compromised accounts situation.

Whilst I have to confess to loving the name of the 'Pink Entanglement Engine' and being impressed by the use of creative writing to describe it, one does have to ask, is there a technical whitepaper or, at the very least, a technical layout of what this anon system is?
For all the people talking about how they can't understand why the price is so stagnant, I'd like to point out, this was a rescued coin, it is tainted and, while the marketing and graphic-design boys should certainly be proud of the work they have done in making this coin's 'innovations' look stunning, the cryptocurrency scene is littered with coin projects that were all mouth and no trousers. The coin-tech has to survive scrutiny by it's peers and, only once they announce something along the lines of, "Holy shit! That's really clever", will you be able to demonstrate there is value here.
Linking it to a charity was nice, but anyone can do that, many coins already do, to no great avail. What the market is hungry for is technological innovation that sets a coin apart from the others. Personally I don't care about anon right now, although I might do in the future, I'd rather see an innovation that enhances the usability of a coin, something that changes the landscape of the crypto/fiat battleground.
A wallet that incorporates electronic fiat, one where deposits into it can be made by credit or debit card, or online bank transfer. *That* would blow people's socks off.
Just thinking aloud.
Either way, as things currently stand, this coin is lacking evidence of innovation and nobody with any sense is going to invest in it until they can be satisfied that this isn't just really well marketed hype for a clonecoin.

Can I ask if you are going to be employing something called 'Proof of Blockchain' for the anon feature? It was mentioned in the Hirocoin thread by someone who said it eliminated the need for nodes and such. Someone needs to come up with an algo that supports anonymous transactions by design, and not by having cash exchangers (masternodes) and not blowing up the block chain.Get that, and then you become the #2 coin. Maybe eventually #1. and was answered This has been done, BUT it's only at the conceptual stage; it's called Proof of Blockchain. I tried to get my head around how it provides anonymity briefly but it seems incredibly complex. If anyone can get their heads around whatever this concept is, it'll be you guys.

The Honorcoin website required you to enter in your forum name, a password and your email.
They tried accessing forum accounts with the same password as well as email accounts and they also tried many of the big exchanges with the same email and password details too in order to use the funds held on those account to buy their shit coin high and sell back to themselves low. Rinse and repeat. That is why the price kept going up and down even after the fraud was exposed over the weekend.
Make sure none of your accounts have the same password you registered on their website with and do make sure you enable 2FA wherever it is available as part of a login process.

MPESA is already very popular in many African nations, but it is centralized, and governments keep raising the taxes on using it. I believe at some point this cause a huge shift to cryptocurrencies. This is where an innovation such as Vericoin with its newly-developed SMS wallet sending and receiving could be a fantastic facility for people in these nations. No need for 3G phones or Android/IOS tablets. Dan Kaminsky, one of the most globally respected people in computing science has been assisting the lead developer, Patrick Nosker, in creating this system. Albeit with some regret from Patrick that he even mentioned Dan's name following the usual rampage of the great unwashed and unhinged cryptocurrency denizens demanding personal reassurances and no end of invasive interrogations.

Patrick, don't waste your time with trolls. Some of us actually recognise the immense ability being brought to this project, others just want to continually talk about pumps and dumps and play like they're Billy Big-Bollocks of Wall Street.
You don't need to prove anything and you don't need to spend your valuable time defending your, or this coin's, reputation. People who know, know, those who refuse to even try, can be ignored.
