so, having selected the inputs from a particular address, which box (as shown in the screenshot below) do you use to input that address

After selecting the inputs and clicking 'Ok', the send screen will detail the number of inputs and amount that you have selected. You then enter in the destination address in the 'Pay to' field, which can be the same address as they come from. Whatever amount you select which is equal or less than the total amount shown for the number of inputs you have selected, will be drawn from that total. So if you send the exact same amount (less some minor variant usually in the transaction fee), it will send every single input back to the same address as a single input for that amount.

Once you get the number of inputs for that entire address down to a number you can send all at once, your last housekeeping transaction will see you able to consolidate everything down to a single input.

As a matter of interest, what's the significance of these (change) addresses? Why are they there?

To simplify things, let's imagine you have one wallet with two addresses, but only one of them has a single input for, say 1000BITS. If you perform a basic send, without doing it through coin control, for 900BITS to somebody else's wallet address, it will take the 1000BITS input, deduct the 900BITS and output it to the destination address, while returning the 100BITS change as a new input to the original address.

You could, instead, do a send through coin control from that address and specify that the 100BITS change be sent as an input, not to the originating address, but to your second address. Or anywhere else for that matter, but hopefully it clarifies the function for you.

Quote from: Not Josh
Andrew,

Before I address the substance of your response – and yes, we will have this debate – I want to thank you for your admonition to readers about, one, respecting my family's privacy; and secondly, I appreciate your request (again, to readers) about maintaining a civil dialogue throughout this process.

That civility, as you justly remind readers, also extends to the Miami conference: I welcome an exchange of ideas – I have no doubt we may agree to disagree about some subjects, including our respective interpretations of those issues – but I value a conversation, not a monologue.

As a matter of professionalism, and as a personal rule I vigorously defend, I do not use – and I will not accept – ad hominem as a substitute for opinionated discussion or lively debate.

In terms of the eight points listed in your post, and I have no qualms about having a moderator field questions and publish our responses, I propose that this debate transpire through an exchange of letters.

These emails can then be released to the public, so, much like a serialized book or collection of news stories, people can read my answers, your rebuttals, my counterarguments and vice versa.

Notwithstanding any scheduling conflicts, as I am in the midst on finalizing my remarks (to be delivered at the Miami conference), and time permitting in general (because my chief responsibility is to perform my duties as a CEO), I look forward to our debate.

Feel free to post and share this post.

Josh

LMAO. This is *so* not Josh's writing. Anybody familiar with his, ahem, rather unique prose, is more than aware of his non-existent use of spell-check or, for that matter, ability to construct complete sentences.

No wonder 'he' is calling for the debate to be in written correspondence.

Makes it even more important it be done live, otherwise all that'll happen is his answers will be ghost-written evasive dodges.

I just wanted to take the time to comment on this service for anyone doing a quick search after considering using it due to their acceptance of bitcoin payments.

It saved my procrastinating ass over Xmas when I realised I had run out of time and needed to get hold of a number of games my kids had asked for.

I wasn't overly convinced it was a genuine vendor site, what with an entirely non-memorable name and cookie-cutter "John.S . . .Sam.W . . ." scrolling lists of people who had apparently just purchased game keys. But as they accepted bitcoin I took the chance and initially purchased games to a value it wouldn't have ruined my holiday to lose.

One of the benefits of placing an order for an online product being paid for in bitcoin is you don't have to fill in your personal details, I chose to simply type "not needed" for the name and address lines it wanted me to enter. At checkout I selected bitcoin payment and was taken to a Bitpay page with a big-ass QR-code for me to capture on my mobile bitcoin wallet and literally half a second after pressing 'send' on the wallet, the screen changed status to 'paid'. Cool as.

Now, the only fly in the ointment is that, while Bitpay see the transaction on the blockchain in double-quick time, they obviously wait for the full six confirmations before registering the payment as cleared with the vendor. This left me with about an hour of fretting as to why the CJS website order status kept saying that it hadn't been paid yet.

In the end there was nothing to worry about, the order status eventually changed to paid and I clicked through to the links for the relevant game key. Once I was happy that everything was in order, the key was genuine and worked, I went a bought a bunch of other stuff from them from 'Origin' game keys to 'Steam' keys, all in good order.

The only thing I'd suggest is that CJS-CDKEYS try getting themselves a better domain name because it unfortunately sounds somewhat scammy or suggests the website deals with pirate cdkeys.

I hear it was postponed until after the NXT hardfork had passed and proven the network to be stable.

Came true? You mean all the people that wanted a scam created one by selling something intended for trade, they are the scammers.

Wait . . . so you're saying that something 'intended for trade' (trade: the action of buying and selling) was sold by people who, because they sold to people who bought are, therefore, scammers?

I'm getting the sense that you don't actually see the absurdity of your own assertion.

2946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SIM] Simcoin - A Simple Coin on: January 08, 2015, 09:24:48 AM
Is any of this of relevance to Simcoin's future in terms of Quantum computing being a potential future threat to crypto?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supersingular_Isogeny_Key_Exchange
Quote
The Supersingular Isogeny Diffie–Hellman Key Exchange (SIDH) is a post-quantum public key cryptographic algorithm used to establish a secret key between two parties over an otherwise insecure communications channel. It was designed to resist cryptanalytic attack by an adversary in possession of a quantum computer. Because the SIDH has key sizes and computations similar to the widely supported Diffie–Hellman key exchange it is a natural candidate to replace Diffie-Hellman in the face of a growing quantum computer threat.

Absolutely there is. You can email Magnus Daar (magnus.daar at nova.se) who is involved in both Class Action against KnC as well as individual litigation for some clients.

One thing to be aware of is the sneaky way in which KnC sold you the product under one company name "KnCMiner AB" but had you pay the invoice to "KnC 20nm Sweden AB", two different companies. Legal action must be directed towards both companies.

If repairwallet doesn't help, perhaps try a different version and just copy your wallet.dat to it.

You should definitely be getting at least 500 inputs at a time to send.

That's odd, my wallet was happy to do 500 at a time (<>75,000 bytes) when I realised I needed to consolidate all those inputs.

Maybe go into console and do a 'repairwallet' to see if that helps raise up the input limit. What version of the wallet are you using?

Also if it is a scam, how do you guys expect Josh to get away with the stolen money when all his details and company details are known?

It is not illegal to be utterly incompetent at business. It is not illegal to 'shoot for the moon' and fail. It is not illegal to 'try your very best to make this business work' but fail.

On the one hand you have the run-up period to today whereby *every* single product/service/changeofToS kept morphing into something else, something new to keep customers interested, exactly how Ponzi/Boiler-room scams are perpetrated.

On the other, you need to prove intent, you need to prove decisions were taken in order to mislead people to buy in or continue being in. There needs to be a trail of transactions that are generally evidence of intended fraudulent activity.

So, yeah, it's perfectly possible for someone to operate something that looks, walks and quacks like a scam, but for them to fold under the guise of it being a failed legitimate business.

All GAW has to do is mix up some of that massive crypto wealth they have in their own wallets and direct a bunch of it outside the company and off the books. Something I imagine, given the complex structures and changes in effect over at GAW Mansions, is not entirely outside the realms of possibility.

You don't need to send them anywhere, just back to the same address as a single transaction.

Doing batches at a time, select up to 500 inputs from one address by drumming out a spacebar/down arrow combo down the list of inputs for a particular address, click send and do it to the address they come from, this will consolidate all inputs selected into a single one.

Once done for all the excess inputs, your wallet will perform much better and you can do housekeeping now and then by a simple send of an address balance back to itself without needing to manually select batches of inputs as long as there are less than 500 of them.

Pro-tip, wallet should be locked while you prepare the batch to send otherwise it might fail because some of the inputs are included in an amount that is staking.

Heavy drop!  Huh P&D??

Because there's nothing suspicious about a new account registered today that makes a quick few meaningless posts in unimportant threads in order to pretend you're interested in something other than the the baseless FUD you intended to post here.

Just to update those of you who asked for my friend to pass on the email he has of KnC admitting their Titan product wasn't fully functional on 30th October, he tells me he has today emailed your legal counsel accordingly.

setting>options>display Check display coin control

Then go to send>inputs and look at the number in brackets next to each address you have. That is the number of individual payments in (inputs) registered on that address in the blockchain. Anything higher than a few hundred in total for all the addresses and your wallet will be grindingly slow. Its the same issue for all PoS-based wallets and one being discussed currently in relation to the project's development.

How many inputs do your wallet addresses contain?

That is usually the reason for wallet slowdown on PoS-based coins, too many payments from the staking process.

ATM project is still proceeding as planned from what I hear. This is all tied in to the work being done over on SuperNET.

Just to give the community an overview of the situation, Bitstar dev is doing some fantastic work over in the SuperNET project, which will translate into progression of this coin project as well.

There are some other changes to be made to certain aspects of Bitstar but these will be worked on after the SuperNET elements are complete.

So remember, while you were enjoying your holiday break, some people have been busting their crypto asses developing tech and making things happen for hours on end!

That is part of the whole scam process, to keep introducing 'justified and explained/excused' delays.

Has anyone checked to see if the final PoW block was the, supposed, megablock payout? It might not have been correct but I've gone through way too much popcorn on this topic to rule out GAW pulling such a stunt after saying they were going to keep mining for zero rewards to secure the network.

Just to give you an update on my friend's company and their case against KnC.

He says that KnC's lawyer kept doing the "I don't understand the case you are making as my client admits nothing" dance, until his very expensive (worth every penny in this case) Swedish lawyer sent a simple three-point contractual-law-based assertion which, while I don't know the specifics, referenced the email he received from KnC at the end of October which absolutely proves they did not ship a completed product in September and knew it, as they explicitly stated that their firmware didn't fit p2pool 'yet', which means, even as we reached the middle of Q4 the product was not the Titan that had been promised at the time of sale.

They haven't responded to this and he says his lawyer is astonished at how unprofessional they are being.

My friend says his company is going to sue KnC's ass off in the New Year, because their failure to settle this matter promptly is just going to rack up more financial damages with every day that passes, and asked me to say that if anyone wants a copy of the damning email for their own legal counsel to include as evidence of KnC admitting their own failure to deliver the promised product within the promised timeframe, contact me with your lawyers email address and he will send them a copy.

Merry Xmas one and all !

Did someone mention a while back that they believed, according to their calculations, there was going to be a massive payout of XPY in the last PoW block?

Anything come of that?
