101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] >> Mandatory Wallet Update - The first POS ANON on: May 30, 2014, 01:20:39 PM
Apart from a simple denial, there hasn't been any explanation as to what what was the payment to loljosh was for. His business is providing coins on spec, and the trust review came exactly one day after the coin launch.

I'm not trying to fud, but some more transparency here would be good to clarify the nature of the transaction that took place and to reassure the market. What was the nature of the dealings with loljosh?

I seriously do not understand why you must scrutinize actsecure so.. I am not saying it is bad, just that this must be the first time in history that a dev has been subjected to so much; usually people just throw their BTC at a coin, sometimes left crying that it was a scam.

To be honest, you've had an answer; it's none of your business to be honest. If you want to know more, perhaps ask the people involved directly rather than in public forum.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PURE][X11] PURECOIN - NETHASH 89.5 GH/s | New CONF!! on: May 30, 2014, 11:23:55 AM
This way the premine would have its purpose fulfilled... and all should be good again..

Only appealing thing was the 'altcoin btc visa card' jobby, so not much left to be good beside another x111 pow clone?
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PURE][X11] PURECOIN - NETHASH 89.5 GH/s | New CONF!! on: May 30, 2014, 11:16:09 AM
hit any exchange yet?

It's on CryptoALTeX as  mentioned in quite a few places.  I have been easily a top poster in this thread trying to help/figure out whats going on and why the developer dropped almost the entire premine immediately.

Trade here https://www.cryptoaltex.com/index.php?page=trade&coin=PURE&market=BTC

So just like I said, and you said, and everyone else who understands crypto has explained - Dedicated didn't jack and dump the premine, it was the dev.

Yup this was determined last night.  Waiting to see the developers response for the reason for dumping.  My concern is that he is seeing interest in the coin now and just wants to wait to dump.  Maybe however, he really needs to the money to get rolling with some things.  Just seems a little sketchy to push the entire premine onto an exchange within minutes and dump it as soon as their is any type of buy support...

So this 'Pure Visa Card' thing is a lie/con/scam?

Without that it's just another X11 POW, yeh?
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRT] Particle | CPU/GPU, Fast, Easy Mine, * NO PREMINE * | Official Thread on: May 30, 2014, 11:07:42 AM
everyone is dump their PRT

Yup, PRT has been awful fishy for a long time. No trust any more. It was fun riding moonmoon's PR bandwagon for a while, I expect we will see news on PRTX, etc once he has had enough time to chew up some cheap PRT.

Teka, I'm afraid to say it, but you are behaving just as badly as the rest of these folks. The DRK discussion thread is over here --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.0

This discussion thread is for XC  Undecided I thought you were going to be moderating the discussion, so that it stayed on topic.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRT] Particle | CPU/GPU, Fast, Easy Mine, * NO PREMINE * | Official Thread on: May 29, 2014, 09:48:00 PM
Alright guys, I have to apologize for going "dark" again for the last week or two.  I had a problem with the provider for the pool server, I secured the server and in the process their monitoring tools can't connect - so what did it do?  It rebooted the server repeatedly.  So I have been working on repairing it and will get it up and going again shortly.  I have done some payouts over the past week but there are still a lot in the backlog, those will go out tonight.  Thank you for your exceptional patience! (and remember, I do these entirely manually by cutting and pasting from a bunch of Excel spreadsheets!)

In bigger news... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

We are going to reinvent Particle as a Proof-of-Stake coin called Particle X.  This time I want to have the background and supporting materials ready to go before we pull the trigger, but here are some details:

Particle X will be a Proof of Stake coin with X11.  There will be a 2 week period of PoW mining before it becomes pure PoS.

I am leaning towards 250M total coins.  The coins will be split.  175M of Particle X coins will be mined and reserved for a coin swap for PRT (just like Saturncoin did, with an Exodus address that we can track and a script to automatically do the swap), at a 4:1 ratio.  The remainder will be PoW mined on the pool.    We could also consider doing half and half, with 350M total coins.

I think having another PoW phase is important to generate some publicity and community interest again and get the miner's more active.

Particle X will have a 5 minute PoS modifier interval and the same fast transaction processing that we enjoy with PRT today.

I am leaning towards 3%/year proof of stake but I am open to suggestions from you.

I'm working on a lot of stuff and it is a little overwhelming for one person, I will give it a few days before I finalize the code for PRTX and am happy to consider suggestions for the parameters.  What we want is a coin that is fast, attractive, with a good long term economic model, that builds value for the investors and doesn't erode it, and that I can use as a platform to build all of these great things on top of it like Particle Shares (yes, that site is complete and will go live with PRTX).

What does PRTX mean for the android wallet?  Proof of stake coins are hard to make android wallets for, I don't know of anyone who has completed one yet.  For mobile payments and integration with the payment service/Proof-of-Sale system I think we will have to go the online wallet route.  This is something we can leverage the exchange infrastructure, payment site, and PRT .Net code altogether to accelerate building it.  There are a couple of sites out there that provide this service as well that we can look into getting added to.

For the PRTX Qt wallet I have taken Snotty's design from the .Net wallet and tried to implement that look and feel as best as I could.  It will be very nice.

There is something else out of left field I think we should look into - a high end casino for PRTX.  Not a rinky dink script, but a really nice one with international translations.  If anyone knows of any resources for this please pass the info along.

So let me get the pool server sorted out and the payouts out.  Mine as many PRT as you can, you're going to want to be holding onto them to swap out.  And then I will get all of the materials together and published for PRTX.

I am open to any suggestions on the PRTX parameters.  China is our biggest market and userbase, so any feedback on what configuration would be most attractive would be very helpful.

Not good news for investors that stayed true to "Hold your particles"  Tongue

4:1 = 4 PRT exchanged to 1 PRTX?

New influx of mined PRTX from PoW will be sold quickly by miners, further harming original PRT investors.

Why the need to change to X11? Because it's easier to implement PoS? Why can't PoS just be added to PRT as is?

The app-in-wallet functionality will remain?

In other news, is BTER down?

Well, doesn't sound good, seen quite a few buy ups recently, not sure who it is or why  Tongue
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: May 29, 2014, 05:25:12 PM
poloniex need more server/bandwidth?
yes.

"Poloniex Exchange @Poloniex
Poloniex will see some massive hardware upgrades soon. Expect a little bit of downtime in the next day or two, then blazing fast speeds." - twitter

Yeh, I'll believe it when I see it, has been a total piece of crap recently. I do not understand why this hasn't been dealt with a lot earlier on.

Thank you! Might have been an idea to wait for the dev to do it though and at the next progress update, etc.. I know you are the Community man, but you know.. OP needs some fixes anyway  Kiss

Can't somebody find the phone of Dan and call him to verify if he is or he isn't the Dan (or "Dan") posting in here? How hard can it be?

Links are good, but first person communication is better for these matters.

Jesus Christ, what's your telephone number? Just trying to bully the poor guy, you should be ashamed.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS - no IPO| Anonymous POS in development on: May 29, 2014, 03:05:46 PM
You definitely have earned that "Ingnored". Hope we get a second moderated thread soon. Can t take it anymore. To much bs and not enough serious xc stuff.

It's al-right, no need for any moderation! You can stop feeding them now Tongue

@altsecure, really good job so far, just like eduff did for dark, thoughts are with you and don't let the haters get you down  Kiss
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS - no IPO| Anonymous POS in development on: May 29, 2014, 02:49:54 PM
Please correct this from OP, its 5.5 blah blah mil coins and not:

Total # of Coins reduced to about 6~7.5Million with POW

This is the most beautiful scam ever. First dozens of mil, then 6 to 7.5 mil, than back to 5.5 mil. And hardly we can find people aware of this.

Are people really blind? I guess the dev and his friends have (or had) at least 50% of all coins easily. This thing will collapse like nothing else yet... I hardly feel sorry for illusional people, but this is too crazy.

To be fair the decision was made very public and heavily supported. There was a 51% risk on the hash and we were near the end of mining. For distribution and safety it was reduced. Pretty much everyone supported the decision at the time.

Ok, show me the actual first post. It should be not after 21-22 may...

It was after. It was near the end of mining, the hashrate went insane. I mean utterly insane, I've never seen so many SCRYPT hashes in one place and there was a genuine cause for concern at the time. It was at around 4.5mil I think.

Bullshit. What is the problem then? Those miners would dump, keep the market in balance (force up, force down) and eventually the distribution would be much fairer. A much bigger concern is people had a few percent based on the total amount stated before, had multiple percent after.

Here is the first post made _here_ about it  Roll Eyes Can you quit it

So you guys think it will be 10k tommrow??

It would be like liberty all over, went to bed at 6 K woke up at 10k ++

I hope not so fast... gradual rise is way better than shooting up so people can dump to take a quick profit.   This coin definitely is for the long term with a strong dev that's not here to pump and dump.   XLB like rise over such short time actually is bad for the coin ultimately I think.

Oh ya, just looked at the website and Saw POW last 100 days only 13% through the blocks so I guess it wont get to high or the multipools will smash the price down as it becomes to profitable.  Holding a little bit and can't wait to see the anon features!

I wish we can cut POW down to 10 days... for sure the multipool will smash it if they get a hold of the profitability...

Potentially it could be reduced... but thats a huge decision

Whether or not its original is kind of irrelevant, as both are centralized.

Yes, we all know this.. Did you read the thread? That's what the next stage is..
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] >> Mandatory Update to new Wallet - The first POS X11 anonymous wallet on: May 29, 2014, 01:52:14 PM
Well never a dull moment..... It is amazing the lengths will people will attack something they either fear or don't understand.  and for those that are in the know - FedoraCoin and its mixer technology is closed source - DRK knows this as that is the source they are using - so this attack is nothing but BS.

I never said XC was a direct copy of Fedoracoin, just that both use a very similar mixing service.
This isn't true at all... XC code for the mixer was written from the ground up

Cool, Thank you for clearing that up  Tongue
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 29, 2014, 07:35:43 AM
Why are we now on the level of the trolls? Pretty sad

Jealousy and greed. I agree  Undecided

Dont sully your creation by bashing competitors. DRK will recover, each project has merit. Now kiss and make up and help crypto adoption.

Well said.

Hello, I would like to ask you what are the future projects with this coin and what makes it better than others coin also about the distribution and the dev.

I have recently lost a lot of money with Libertycoin and so now i'm looking for a real coin with serious dev (not only speech to pump the price) but real stuffs, I'm ready to invest 20 btc.

Thank you.

Read the thread, all the information is already here. Do not expect people to do your work for you.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: May 26, 2014, 07:19:48 PM

I hate that I agree with much of what you say.

Your argument reminds me of arguments against capitalism (which I tend to agree with).

The idea was not to grant any existing PMC holders any NEW PMC, just exchanging their current PMC1 for PMC2 so they could continue on.

I think I will like debating you  Grin

I think we may be on a similar wave-length  Smiley
