822  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTC POOL MINING - 0% Fees - Launching This Week!!!!!! on: July 29, 2011, 07:48:38 PM
It seems the moat around pool biz is growing. It's rather difficult to start a new one these days.

No kidding.  The big boys just continue to get bigger.  Doesn't help that there is an unfair sticky policy in this sub forum either.

If you pay out 20 decimal places per share, how does your accounting work if you can only get paid 8 decimal places of BTC?  Are you rounding up or down?

Sapphire Trixx blew away MSI Afterburner once they released the version that could overvolt multiple cards.

I'm excited about this, I just want to see someone turn even a 1-2% profit and prove it first.

828  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [20 BTC] Multithreaded Keep-alive Implementation in Bitcoind on: July 28, 2011, 03:54:54 PM
Been running it for a week strong now.  I don't know if I would consider it a memory leak, but ours is at just under 700m used.  Running in -hub level 1 with built in LP.

Decided to turn on SSL (HTTPS://) redirection today for the main website.  This forces you to use SSL on any method of accessing the website.  Let me know if this causes problems for anybody.  bitHoppers, please make sure you are using the JSON feed instead of regex scraping the HTML on port 80.  Updated bitHopper config are available in their main thread on the forum.  I have unbanned all IP's, so if you have problems it's not due to our firewall!

Hehe, no I paid $20 in BTC for block #1.  I guess you could call it block #0?  Bitcoinaddict put up bounties for the blocks after that.

no bonus for 2nd block that was found?
Yeah there was.  It was paid out already.

Alright, I removed the <pre> tag.

Phorensic. You are a scholar and a gentleman. Thanks for your cooperation.
Thanks.  This was actually a good little stress test for my code and database.  Identified a big bottleneck in two queries that I fixed today.  Just about done unbanning IP's that are still using the old HTML method on our site.  Use the new config if you are reading this!

@hawks5999 nice... my imagination just got loose

just managed to conf. bitcoinmonkey (thanks phorensic)

Code:
[btcmonkey]
name: bitcoinmonkey.com
mine_address: bitcoinmonkey.com:8332
api_address: https://bitcoinmonkey.com/json/api.php
api_method:json
api_key:shares_this_round
role: info
#CHANGE THIS
#http://bitcoinmonkey.com/
user: x
pass: x

(i get an api error though, shit)

You get an error because there's html in the json response (view source).
Here's a working one:
Code:
[btcmonkey]
name: bitcoinmonkey.com
mine_address: bitcoinmonkey.com:8332
api_address: https://bitcoinmonkey.com/json/api.php
api_method:re
api_key:"shares_this_round":"(\d+)
role: mine
#CHANGE THIS
#http://bitcoinmonkey.com/
user: username
pass: password
I tried to include no HTML besides a <pre> tag that other pools are using in their JSON output.  What is the most compatible way to output my JSON?
836  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 25, 2011, 06:44:22 PM
OK bitHoppers, I have created a simple JSON api that will feed your script without destroying our server.  Please use https://bitcoinmonkey.com/json/api.php .  Also, please note that we have full SSL support.  The config in bitHopper was using the non-SSL port of our Apache.

I will slowly start unblocking IP's so those of you using bitHopper will regain access.
837  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 25, 2011, 03:37:26 PM
anyone having trouble getting to bitcoinmonkey? are they banning IPs?

I noticed I couldnt get to the site earlier, and down for everyone or just me said it was just me.

called a bud, he could get on. He hadnt updated his hopper, so he signed up.. updated his hopper and now calls me saying he cant get on anymore.

I can get to the site through a proxy but cant login.

Yes I started banning IP's because I couldn't figure out why all of a sudden I had 2 new unique IP's an hour refreshing our main page every 2 seconds.  I mean really, does the client need to hammer our site that hard?  Thanks to one of our users he pointed me to this project.  I can unblock you guys if you stop pointing bithopper at the main page.  I understand if I publish a JSON feed for the main pool stats I won't have this problem.  I am long overdue for developing that feed, looks like it is time to get it going.
838  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~10GH] Bitcoinmonkey.com (BTC BOUNTY!,LP,PROP,HTTPS,NO FEES!,LOW STALES) on: July 22, 2011, 04:39:17 PM
Amazing what 8 hours of tuning a mysql database can get you, lol.

Mr. 80.243.158.233, your hacking attempts at my Apache install are hilarious.  I do not run phpmyadmin and your message you leaving in my logs is interesting "w00tw00t.at.blackhats.romanian.anti-sec".

Update 7/23/2011 @ 8:36PM PST:  Woohoo! Our first DDoS attack!  Pretty weak attack on Apache port 80 only, but fun to watch nonetheless.  Only 10 unique IP's so far.  Is that all you got?   Cool

Update 7/25/2011 @ 8:40AM PST:  Source of "DDos" identified as BitHopper project hammering the main page for stats.  Working on JSON feed to solve the problem.  If you are a BitHopper user, please stop pointing your software at our main page for stats refreshes every 2 seconds.  I will unblock IP's as soon as this is all sorted out.

Update 7/25/2011 @ 12:41PM PST:  Created JSON api for pool stats at https://bitcoinmonkey.com/json/api.php.  Please point your bitHopper script at this URL instead of the main page.  I will start to slowly unblock IP's that were hammering our main page.
839  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The definitive answer to how much bandwidth does bitcoin use. on: July 22, 2011, 04:35:03 AM
Even if you have "only" bitcoin on the Ubuntu box, you cannot be certain that traffic you measured is *only* bitcoin.  Just to muddy the waters -- 10GH/s on our pool consumes 56kbps on average  Grin
