361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dwindling of Ethereum Price and its Effects on ICO Projects on: December 09, 2018, 12:43:57 PM
It is not just ethereum price that really stops the ICO projects. It is the whole market and people having absolutely no promise of profit in the near future causing them not to have any money to invest into new projects.

Back in the days, when ICO projects got funded millions of dollars in an hour or so that was because people invested couple thousand dollars into something and the all time high prices made that into tens of thousands of dollars so they tried to spend some of the profits into ICO so they could make money again. Considering none of us made any money this year it means we are also not really looking into investing into any ICO project neither.

Regardless of the ETH price it is not a good time to start investing into unknown projects and keep our money in safe bets like btc and eth.
362  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will not DIE, People Die; Will you be the Last Man HODLing? on: December 09, 2018, 08:49:58 AM
I don't think it is a far fetched idea that people might commit suicide because of bitcoin, the price dropped THAT much in one year. If someone really put all they had into bitcoin at the height of $20k times and right now checking the bank balance at $3400, that person could be inclined to at least consider it.

I know I have, multiple times, I had days where it was really difficult to find food, not that I invested any money into bitcoin but I work and get paid in bitcoin and sometimes I can't find any job to do which means there is little amount of money for me left and I had some really difficult days because of that.

I am feeling a bit better now, trying to work and go out to find a non-crypto job meanwhile but I can understand other people as well. Just try to think of good things in life when you are down and try to open up to other people, when I was feeling like ending it, I talked with my wife with the intention of letting her know so she could stop me and I wouldn't be capable of doing it just to not ruin her life, I feel better now so maybe anyone considering it should open up to someone they love and hope for a hand that would grab you and pull you up.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth <100 $ on: December 07, 2018, 09:03:31 AM
Friends, the price of ETH continues to fall, what is waiting for the coin? Will its capitalization fall? Will ethereum lose third place?
Although my personal opinion is that since it’s certainly a top coin, we don’t have to talk about sunset in the new year, they promise us to increase its potential with the help of code improvements, not so long ago Buterin even became a professor, what do you think about Ether?
And how do you think the whales have lowered the price and filled their hooks to them to pack it next year? Or is this theory a mistake?
Seriously though Ethereum doesn't deserve all of this. It is such a great coin that has so many utilities so many features, so many usecases and yet just because the market is bad the price is going down with the market as well.

I hope to see the market being independent from each other one day like stock market, I know stock market falls all together as well time to time but that is just a regular day in crypto markets. I want to see all coins go up and down irrelevant of each other, I don't want ethereum to drop just because btc dropped or I don't want dash to go up just because others went up, let the market be free from the collective mind set and let it be irrelevant to each other. Have all coins go up and down because of what people think of them and not because bitcoin is going up or down.
364  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: crypto trading business without a license on: December 05, 2018, 04:43:00 PM
It would be still possible, after all not all business needs to register at all, no business needs to register to be honest.

A license gives you the right to operate with the regulations of the government put on you and you can be relaxed about it since you are not breaking any laws and following all the steps you should as a business. However if you do not get a license the only difference between that and having a license is the risk factor.

If you get caught while operating without a license there will be consequences and there would be penalties in play. There could be even jail time depending on what type of business you are in. Hence the license is not there to run the business, it is there so you could get a "free out of jail" card when things go bad and you just say "I was following regulations".
365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't sell your bitcoin expert warn. on: December 03, 2018, 04:34:26 PM
It would be wise to sell your coins if you got in really early and want to capitalize your earnings. If you bought bitcoin at anything under 1 thousand dollars it wouldn't be silly to sell right now because that is a lot of profit that you can use. However if you purchased bitcoin over $4k, you can still wait for it to go higher up and make you profits.

It is a bit about what you think the price will do, a bit about how much money you need right now (some people have emergency money needs, I once sold all my coins to pay for a surgery and I do not regret that at all) and a bit about when you get into bitcoin (at what price). Hence, if you really want to sell and you think it would be a wise decision at this point of your life nobody should stop you from doing it.
366  Economy / Economics / Re: China is turning against cryptocurrencies?? on: December 02, 2018, 06:40:06 PM
It is actually not the Chinese government that is against cryptocurrency. It is the peoples bank of china which is the biggest bank in china that is against bitcoin and crypto very much. Since it is a communist bank and all those people who work on that bank are basically government employees it becomes the "government" is against it but in reality they are just a branch of it and not all of it.

For example, I am sure there must be some people in the ministry of family and social policies (if they have a ministry like that) probably likes bitcoin as well but we don't make clickbait titles like "government employee promotes bitcoin in china" or something because that's just one person. Hence, same applies here, there is no governmental consensus since all people have their own opinions but the people at the top seems to listen to the bank so far, that can change rather quickly if anyone higher starts to like it one day.
367  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dangers of a HODL’er: on: December 02, 2018, 04:20:16 PM
The trouble with these type of people is that they have been in bitcoin for short amount of time and only saw the direction that it took for 2018 and decide that holding is a bad investment to bitcoin.

However, they are wrong because of two things, first of all if you have been holding for the past 3 years you probably made more money thanks to bitcoin than anything else in your entire life since it was incredibly cheap three years ago. That's the first thing they are wrong, only the people who have been holding for 1 year has "lost" money (not lost if you don't sell) but all others made profits.

Secondly if you ask anyone and I mean ANYONE if they believe bitcoin will be higher in 10 years they will say yes, even the people who hate bitcoin will have to agree bitcoin will be a lot more in 10 years and will bring more profits to you compared to any other investment.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone has to stop this "forks" shit! on: December 02, 2018, 01:31:14 PM
It is all about the money. It can't stop because of two reasons and two key players. First of all people who do the forks are making money because they are making sure they get the most money themselves first and position themselves into a spot where they will be the rich people coming out of it and profit from those forks. Just like bitcoin cash and all that before it happened quickly and made some people rich.

Second reason is that people make money from it, for example bitcoin cash got like %50 price uptick before the fork happened which means not only the owners and creators make money but smaller investors are trying to make money from it too.

Hence, when people are making money and profiting from something at the cost of losing all of this and causing a bear market, you can' tell them "don't do it", they won't listen to you.
369  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we need a global virtual marketplace for cryptocurrencies? on: December 01, 2018, 04:37:27 PM
I think that we should have a global virtual marketplace for cryptocurrencies without any intermediaries. This would lower the costs of transactions and decentralize the market. What do you think? Is that possible? What are the benefits?
There are some places like that, first of all the darknet was all about that. There were places like silkroad that basically created a virtual market place that you can pay with bitcoin.

Since, it was on darknet and it was with bitcoin it all turned into drug dealers paradise but that wasn't the only thing that was sold there. After all of that was over there was a decentralized marketplace (I forgot the name) that you downloaded to your computer and everyone who had that became the marketplace, just like bitcoin network.

You could sell anything there from virtual goods to regular goods, I once saw a very very cheap cigar collection and I was really tempted but couldn't trust neither the seller nor was I sure if it would be a problem at the border. There is also bitify or something which is online and basically ebay for bitcoin, it has everything you ask for as well.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree that crypto news generates fake hype? on: November 30, 2018, 12:47:13 PM
I do not think it generates enough hype at all. Look at all the good news that happened in the past month, there has been news about Bakkt ETF coming up, there has been news of google and samsung investing into a blockchain game, there has been news of Caribbean countries using blockchain technology to keep your identity saved forever, there has been the biggest news of NASDAQ and nyse giving bitcoin ETF options to people.

All of those news combined should have made bitcoin go back to 20 thousand dollars but look at where we are right now, nowhere near that and even going down. Hence, I think crypto news is not generating fake hype at all, hell crypto news is not generating any type of hype. We really need to make sure those news get heard a lot louder in order to fix this market.
371  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will BTC 'Mean Reversion' be in 2019? My prediction is $1400 USD on: November 29, 2018, 04:41:10 PM
If this type of thing happens, it must happen from outside and not because of trading charts looking bad. It is not a regular course of movement for bitcoin to see 1400 thousand dollars nor have a mean reversion. In order for such a thing to happen we need to have another attack on the price just like during the hash wars on bitcoin cash.

If something like that happens and a person like Craig keeps on selling their coins in order to do something or another person like mt.gox trustee (basically anyone with enough bitcoin) sells, there is no bottom for that. The number 1400 would make no sense to stop, it could be 2 thousand, it could be 100 dollars. It all depends on how much that person is willing to sell. Craig sold off enough to drop it under 4 thousand dollars but will he be willing to sell until it drops under 2 thousand ? We will have to see. Otherwise it is impossible for bitcoin to drop that much.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think altcoins will be used for in the future. on: November 29, 2018, 10:15:21 AM
There will be a lot of utility altcoins that will make it worthwhile to invest into them. Some of the most known ones are bnb coin which is binance coin that you can own to pay less trade fee and it at least has a use somewhere that makes it valuable (also they burn their coins time to time which makes it worth more in the future).

Ethereum is the biggest with all the blockchain features it has from ICO to games to companies based on blockchain data storage. There are many coins like these that has something you can use it for, people do not want to invest into a coin just because it is designed well or something, they want to be capable of spending or using that coin in order to make it have a value. Without any use of the coin they do not give it any value. Hence, in the future only the altcoins with utility will prevail.
373  Economy / Economics / Re: why bitcoin price fall down? on: November 28, 2018, 03:03:19 PM
Last four days bitcoin fall drop and lower under $3,900 and many investor feel panic for selling their bitcoin asset, we faced bad moment at the end of this years because bitcoin and altcoin really at lower and drop price.
Investors will always panic as well as traders, and moreover, some of the people you see who are panicking and easily affecting the exchanges are traders who are trying to take the little pieces left and seeing what they can do with it by buying lower, so in a way, even when panicking as a trader, it is always about how faster you are in exiting the market at every point in time as we are all busy trying to make the first quick move and whoever makes it first will always be the one enjoying it later.

Moreover, there are so many other reasons as well, which includes the fact that we see people who do not have a clue or understand the market, but are just busy purchasing quick wealth, which will always be bad for the market.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do start to trade on: November 28, 2018, 12:33:17 PM
Now is not the right time to trade with speculation. Need to be careful and not careless. When the market is red and does not show profit. I chose to stop for a while.
Being careful though will require some knowledge and anyone who wants to trade the market now should not be doing so if they do not have the skills and knowledge to do so. This has been a volatile bear market, so depending on the style of trading, anyone who is trading now, really want to be sure they know what they are doing and not just jumping into the market blindly.

Even for a lot of people, they have decided to stay out of the market for a while, except for long term traders and holders anyway, so in a way, you want to know your strategy and be able to take advantage of the market in your own way, but without knowledge, that would be a hard thing to achieve.
375  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are Close To The Bottom: on: November 27, 2018, 02:46:44 PM
It's not a huge shock to anyone that the bitcoin price goes up and down. All those charts, all those estimates are basically all says "bitcoin sometimes goes up and sometimes goes down and in between it stays about the same without moving" which is really not a big surprise to anyone. It doesn't require a brain to know that price of something sometimes goes up and sometimes goes down.

Yeah, it has similarities to historical bitcoin price data because back in the day bitcoin went up and went down, now it went up last year and it went down now. Hence, what can we expect from bitcoin now? To go up. The point is how much will it drop and how long will it be like this before it starts going back up. We all know that bitcoin will go up eventually, the question is not "will it go up again?", the question is "when will it go up".
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins with potential? on: November 26, 2018, 10:47:16 AM
So I have been out of the loop from cryptocurrencies for a bit now and wanted just a brief introduction about potential altcoins to look at? Thank you!  Smiley

You may want to check on top 20 altcoins. Altcoins have been doing fairly well, we saw significant changes this year especially. Altcoins endured a lot of turbulence and created a trust zone for themselves. We must embrace the potentials as they may come up to BTC's potential in years ahead.
People tend to make that mistake thinking because it is part of the top 20, that makes it a solid coin to be buying but it is not like that. Potential is not about the market capitalization as that can easily be manipulated for most centralized coins anyway, the potential is basically based on the long term opportunities of the coin when it comes to usage.

I would not have loved to pick a name, but BCH is one of the top 20 coins, and unless you feel you want to get into a manipulated market that has no long term hope for the future when it comes to usage, then you can be my guest investing in it.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Beginning and a Bright Future on: November 25, 2018, 06:22:57 PM
I would love to believe this and I have been trying my hardest to keep my coins at any given cost but I started to think maybe we are not going for a bright future, maybe this is really the end like all those people have said over the years, maybe we are really screwed and we have seen that bitcoin is not as decentralized as we imagined and even a single person who has no place in forbes richest people let alone have a decent company could really collapse the market so what if the big financial companies of the world decide to ruin bitcoin one day by spending couple billion and destroying it ?

All those together really make it very scary to look at the future but nevertheless I do not sell my coins, I keep them safe and will wait for a day when crypto rises again.
378  Economy / Economics / Re: IMF chief is in support of crypto. Keep holding on: November 25, 2018, 08:01:13 AM
The IMF chief has released a statement showing her strong support for crypto. If you are in crypto today, count yourself a blessing.

A link to her statement.
https://dailyhodl.com/2018/11/09/imf-chief-crypto-should-not-be-dismissed-can-benefit-the-public-with-fast-and-cheaper-transactions/
This is a good sign that the market is getting a lot of support from the big guys. So we should invest early to get a big advantage before prices start rising in the next few months.
IMF chief is not a big guy, which is just a single person who is entitled to her own opinion about cryptocurrency and does not speak entirely for the whole IMF board.

Yes sometimes, when you know there are some top people in some very solid places showing their great interest for cryptocurrency, it makes you seem a little bit relaxed that this space is going to grow more than this eventually, but it is a decentralized space, and we all particularly have a general part to play when it comes to the adoption in this space. It is not one thing only a single person can achieve, but for awareness purpose though, it is a good start.
379  Economy / Speculation / Re: List of Reasons that Explain the Price on: November 24, 2018, 02:43:14 PM
There is no need for a huge list of reasons. First of all price dropped because there was a hash war going on in bitcoin cash hard fork times and during those times both sides sold their bitcoins and bitcoin cash in order to fuel the fight and become the winner of the war.

Now that is the reason, why the prices of bitcoin dropped significantly since there was a lot of sell orders and not enough buy orders to cover those expenses. Now the reason why it hasn't gone up is more tricky because the volume is incredibly low and anyone who wants to take the price anywhere could do so at any given moment.

We have seen 2 billion in volume type of low amounts which is really low considering only couple months ago someone bought 500 million dollar worth of bitcoin with tether and the price only went up a slight bit. Now if anyone tries that the price would probably double at these volumes. Long story short it went down because a lot of bitcoin was sold and it didn't went up because not enough bitcoins are bought.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The owner of Bet365.com pocketed $1,000,000 every day in 2017 on: November 24, 2018, 06:20:46 AM
Probably this would open the eyes of gamblers to the fact that the only set of people who are really making money here are the owners of the gambling platforms and the casinos. As a gambler, you are only just basically paying your dues and being emotionally self-manipulated to paying more to keep gambling while you keep enriching the pocket of the owners.

For those who keep thinking they will be making shit loads of money from gambling, they really need to think again before approaching gambling or betting with that mentality.
