2  Other / Meta / Re: post that is considered spam on: December 26, 2018, 07:51:44 AM
Spam is any post which does not add value to the discussion. Either it of itself is low quality, or the post has already been made and it is just a repetition of already discussed topics.

There is spam on most of the forum boards, with some more severe than others, having lots of spam mega threads, where the discussion is already moot but the thread drags on with repetitive replies, and the OP has already abandoned s post.
As has been mentioned, you can always report, spam, plagiarism, malwares to the mods for action.
3  Other / Meta / Re: Ban evasion if a user asks for changing his account in a bounty because of ban? on: December 26, 2018, 06:12:26 AM
Why banned account was not marked or have no any badge if they are not going to be deleted?

I could take a guess that the administrator thinks that since they can not interact in any way, then it is not much of an issue.
The issue is with members who still report posts made by them, and the mods have to look over it again, even though such profiles have been banned.
Before reporting any post for potential ban, try to check k on BPIP if the profile is still active.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ethereum prices start pumping. on: December 26, 2018, 06:06:55 AM
The market gained a few percent after the major drop in value. With ethereum being in of the largest gainers, and at one point surpassed BCH in value for the first time.

The market went down a little, but ethereum held off well and didn't crash as it did during the last dip.
5  Other / Meta / Re: Don't understand a moderation... on: December 25, 2018, 11:59:26 AM
This morning ,  I have just seen that my post was... moderated because i were not in the subject... why, pls ?? Merry xmas  Undecided Smiley

By 'moderated' am guessing you mean, deleted?
If yes, then there are several resona why mods delete posts and thrash threads. It was either not relevant to the discussion, spam or incomprehensible, i.e,  poor grammar.
Its also possible it was reported by other forum members.

A mod could get you a response as they have access to deleted posts.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let me be clear to you, this is not a Bear Martket! on: December 25, 2018, 11:54:13 AM
the bitcoin founders in their unlimited greed tried to push the price as high as possible, but ultimately wasted, aquired all possible support they were able to obtain.

There is only one name associated with the creation of bitcoin and that is, Satoshi Nakamoto. And he has never been identified.
He reputedly own a lot of bitcoins and could manipulate the value, but it is very unlikely that happened.

The bear market is used in relation with previous peak. It may have been unsustainable at that time, but the asset has shown the ability to climb to such highs. And it's now down about 79%
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the Bitcoin's business plan and responsible people behind it ? on: December 25, 2018, 07:32:13 AM
Does bitcoin have a business plan ? and who is responsible to make it work

It has a clear plan which is summarized in the bitcoin whitepaper. The whitepaper is a rough summary, and would require advanced knowledge to understand, hence this forum was created.

The bitcoin community is what makes it work. It is designed to be decentralized and not need an intermediary.
The bitcoin core handles updates and the BIP; Bitcoin Improvement Proposals
8  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: December 25, 2018, 07:10:08 AM
Note: sending Merit doesn't necessarily mean I agree with a post.

On the contrary merits should not be giving out just cause a user agrees with the post, but it's relevance and quality.
This only comes into the context when discussion forum politics.
On the general discussion board. It's not opinions which are posted but relevant, factual discussion about cryptocurrency.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the obstacle of Bitcoin? on: December 25, 2018, 05:22:01 AM
The top obstacle to Bitcoin being mainstream is mass adoption. Bitcoin now is mainly purchased off an exchange.
If there was an option to use bitcoin as a currency for paying salaries, and calculating how many bitcoins is worth an hour's job. This would increase circulation.
As long as BTC is pegged on Fiat currencies, it will keep being used as a speculative tool.
10  Other / Meta / Re: Value Affects Spamming on: December 24, 2018, 08:55:27 PM
Signature is not responsible for spam.
We have very high ranked members who wear signatures of various projects. Spamming is common with low quality users, regardless of forum rank, signature etc.

The drop in value of the cryptocurrency market initially led to a drop in activity in the forum.
Although there's a lot of projects right now which are worth discussing.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does it mean to buy on the Dip? on: December 24, 2018, 08:19:05 PM
Buying the dip as I see it applies mostly to investors and not day traders. And it refers to a drop in the price compared to recent values.
This doesn't mean that is the support level or it could not drop further. It just signifies a drop beyond the value it was at, and the potential worth you place on the currency.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: nice video about "crypto" :) on: December 24, 2018, 03:57:10 PM
If there was no hint of a gamble, and there was a certainty that everyone earns, then it would not be much different to a ponzi scheme, and everyone would try to get in, until it crashes.

You can give someone the basics of bitcoin without considering the financial aspects, besides the value per coin.
Understanding of bitcoin and digital assets would be beneficial as the future of financial technology beckons.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You are buying that bitcointalk account at your own risk on: December 23, 2018, 04:34:10 PM
Well it's obvious that the selling and buying of bct account is still going on and this heinous crime is not looking to end soon.

Account sales is not against the forum rules although it is discouraged. And it is not 'looked into' or regulated by the forum administrators.
Account sales is a risky venture, and has little gains as you do not earn the rank you buy.
It takes a lot of effort to build up an account to a certain rank, this shapes your knowledge on the forum and about cryotocurrency in general, which you would be lacking if you buy such rank.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Slow and steady wins the race on: December 23, 2018, 04:20:07 PM
Patience is key but timing is more important. Opportunity windows open quickly and if you wait too long you could miss out on a profit, just as you could if you are too early. Timing is vital in trading or investing.
Hodl for as long as it is profitable.
15  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system has lead to more quality posts? on: December 23, 2018, 04:13:25 PM
The merits system has encouraged users to make more quality post in order to rank up and get the added perks, but there are ways around the system which are being exploited by spammers, and bots which reduce the quality of content posted on the forum.

I personally do not use the ignore option for boards or members. If I come across an unhelpful post I would rather report it.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Ask "Time To Buy" "HOLD or SELL" "Right time to entry" on: December 23, 2018, 03:45:15 PM
but everyone's opinions will be the material for you refer.

If you indeed consider the opinion of everyone who replies to a post, when making investment decisions, you are very likely to make a wrong decision.

There are decisions that are entirely dependent on you, your knowledge base, your capital, available time; all this factors would shape your early investment stage.
If you have to ask, then you are not ready to invest.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tis the Season for Storytelling on: December 23, 2018, 03:41:08 PM
I was not lucky to be among the early adopters who were abke to mine out bitcoins out of nothing at a low difficulty level amd highest reward range. Or I should say I was not 'aware'. Awareness of is what makes people open to opportunities others would have passed on.

Fast forward to Q4 2017, when the hype sets in, this is the time I got really involved with bitcoins, I didn't see the effect mining had on the market value up until early 2018 through to this point.
It the parameter I study most now when analysing the reason for pumps and dumps.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reversal of Bear Market? on: December 21, 2018, 03:26:46 PM
People too often talk about bull and bear market seasons. There is no clear definition as to where a bear trend ends and when a bull run starts.
This week has seen strong growth from bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market, and it opened a window of profit for traders.
Long term investors and hodlers would be waiting on higher growth in order to profit, depending on what price they bought at.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook to enter crypto market with WhatsApp stablecoin on: December 21, 2018, 03:19:23 PM
Facebook has a wide audience reach already, and billions of users of their platform, this would give such project a boost.
This is about an alternative currency and should be posted in thr altcoin section
You can move it yourself at the bottom left of this post
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Tricks For Newbies on: December 20, 2018, 11:53:07 AM
These "tricks" you've listed really aren't "tricks", they're pretty much just generic trading advice. Not to mention these "tricks" shouldn't apply to every situation. It hugely depends in many factors.

I was going to say exactly that, this are not tricks, rather basic guidelines which are very common, and over emphasized.
A trader has to be flexible, especially when handling different currencies. Tricks oe strategies do not apply for every coin or token as they are all unique.
As a trader look for the strategy that works for you and stick to it.
