Also I conducted a small experiment.
I have asked 300 people hat they think of when you say fedora, or fedoracoin.
The answer shockingly was "I think of the hat"
I can honestly say only 6 out of 300 people even mentioned the neckbeard nonsense.
So just so everyone knows, the big marketing choice to change it to TIP's clearly had no real world research to it. You guys are just taking the coin and going in the direction YOU all feel is right. I started on this thread with constructive critisism but it was left unheard. Keep up the shit work. I hope when invisibel gets back he demolishes these nonsense plans leading to nowhere for days on end.

I have a plan.
I have thought this through pretty well but I do not have the skills to code a coin.
I do have some developers that I am working with but I would much rather keep things to the people that know them best.
My developers are currently tinkering around with learning the intrcies of crypto-coins, but as for main development off the bat I would like a coin Developer that knows a few things.

I wouldn't care about the price drop if there were concrete decisions being made about the marketing. The logos created by fayens look pretty sweet. Have they been authorized yet? What are we doing to get ourselves attention for the mixing service other than 1 article and discussion within this thread? Doge is a crap coin, but the community and marketing made it a top 5 market cap and it got international press.
The fact that price has declined every day since the release is a terrible sign. We either change course asap, or this coin will be done, and people will move onto one of the other 150 coins out there.
Well ya see there thats the thing. It hasn't only dropped since release. At release it hit coinedup too soon. Many people dumped and it sat at about 10-15 latoshis. Eventually it hit 1-2 latoshis, at which point it began picking up momentum. Over the course of 3 days it went up to 20 latoshis. Then it went up to 40 latoshis, hit cryptsy, peaked at 250 latoshis, and settled for a short while at 100 latoshis, then it began its decline to where it is now. BUT Almost every single altcoin does this because when it hits the market greedy sellers put in a huge price. Poor buyers get sucked in and the dump happens down to a true price that makes sense, and with almost alll alt coins, the price then keeps declining. If the coin is good it then recovers huge and starts the cycle all over again at different platues. Look at the charts for other coins. This is the lifecycle of a coin. 90% of miners are teenagers. They do not care how much they make or investment ops. They want cash now to go buy their booze, fast food, and drugs lol. The fact is there is a lot to this coin, but noone seems to notice it. The people that want a new logo only seem to see the potential for the word TIPS, the Devs only see the features. We need people to look at both, because at the end of the day, if you name something dogshit, but it is totally awsome to use and truly has features and functionality, people will buy it. Everyone remember, the life of this coin was months before it ever saw the light of cryptsy. Coinedup was the exchange that took TIPs to where it needed to go, and coinedup was so slow 9 out of 10 refreshes would give you a server error because the load was too high, and even then people were scrambling to grab as many as they can. Without any idea if their LTC were safe people were willing to risk it. The life of this coin is much more then cryptsy folks. Much more |

At this stage I actually want the price to drop faster so we can get to the next block halving. The sooner the next block halving the better. less miners to dump and less people with big bags of tips if we maintain this price for another month.
in other words id rather have one week of 10ltc then a month at 35ltc
Confused at what price dropping has to do with getting closer to the block halving? And that is what everyone said about the first block halve but still have the multipools on it, and since then price has almost halved. On that note..... Anyone selling any goods or services for TIPS? P.S for my previous post about logo. If this last 2 weeks wasn't spent figuring out how to make a new logo, and instead the chosen logo from the vote was used, the marketing campaign would be 2 weeks deep by now and exponentially more people would know about TIPS..........hmmmmmm |

Just my 2 TIPS. For the thread, keep it to 1 column. It is nice to stand out, but that is something that should be somewhat familiar to make it easy for newcommers to find information. Secondly. Is that actually the logo now or whats happening? If it is someone should make a couple wide banners like we had with the other logos, to be places at top and bottom of post. Thirdly, can someone please tell me why everyone wants the coin to be so dark. There is nothing about the colouring of the logo that is appealing. The design is fine but honestly guys its dark, it doesn't make you feel anything when you see it. It doesn't really stand out in the least. What are the colours that will be used to promote fedoracoin? Well if the dark logo gets chosen, all things TIPS will be dark and dreary to kep the branding across mediums. Wouldn't it make more sense with an orange, blue, red, or something. When you ask a person their favorite colour only douche bags say black, brown, or gray  so common, add some colour. Or Scrap the damn thing, a logo was chosen weeeeeeeeeks ago. Everyone in this thread seems to forget, the price sat at 1 and 2 latoshis for weeks. Without all this new dark logo and shit we went from 2 latoshis, up to peak at around 200 latoshis. The true believers in the coin are not the new people in here trying to change things, they are the people that mined it when it was worth nothing, show them the respect they deserve, without them you have no TIPS. |

We have made headway!!!! First I would like to publicly apologize to Fayens. I made him a mod to the Reddit site so he could spruce up the site. I didn't' discuss this with the dev team and they revoked both of our access and pretty much called him out on it. Fayens, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I hope you can forgive me and the devs and are willing to come back and help.  Your coin is awesome. Please accept my token of gratitude. Thank you to vir6, cryptostoner, and RSPS for their full support in our irc chat "discussion". We spoke to the devs and they are uneasy in the name change, and have taken a stand that the name will not be changed. (Still no word from invisibel, though). HOWEVER.... They have compromised and have agreed to let us take the reins for marketing if and only if we market the coin as TiPS with (a.k.a. FedoraCoin). I think that's fair... and I really don't see an issue with it. We're rebranding but also letting the customer know that the coin is also known as FedoraCoin. That being said, we now have a green light to proceed as TiPS (a.k.a. FedoraCoin). There is another graphic artist nerd_name working on the advertisement of this coin. Here is some of his art work. I think we should bring him into the mix and tweak his vision to fit more in line with TiPS. Looks like a lot of people got in to Fedoracoin TIPS since it got on to cryptsy, but there were people supporting from before that, back when it was worthless. Now that it has a bit of value lets rebrand and here are my logo ideas?
Logo ideas a plenty where submitted long ago, invisible is in charge of that so up to him, but so many supporters from the beginning seem to be getting pushed out, or at least forgotten about.
Well maybe it is up to invisible, has anyone jumped on the IRC to chat and throw the ideas around there, it has more of the people behind the coin more often then these forums.
Either way I think there is way to much focus about how there needs to be rebranding, hate to use examples of other coins but....
Dogecoin......it is a dog..no rebrand was necessary for it.
What is going to make this coin is people standing behind it, doing what they can to use the coin, spend it, play games, sell things, spread word about the coin, explain why it is better....
Coin mixing feature....first ever done and done.
Payment platform.......to simplify paying with crypto coins, lessen server load for transactions, new type of platform
The fact that it is in any way, whether shorthand or longhand, referred to as TIPS.......thats sweet
There are 500 billion total coins..........meant to use, not to hoard
We should focus on the spread and positive features of the coin, not the aspects we dislike. Those things should be stated, don't get me wrong, they can always be helpful and show insight, but then back to the positive and wait to find out what happens on your negative comment. Maybe throw a PM or email to someone that could solve your issue, like the Dev, and if they see it to be in the correct path for the coin im sure they will move forward with the idea, whether new logo, or rebrand, or whatever the case may be.

So a few thoughts. 1. Cannot believe this thread is still talking about price, haha, just forget about it and come back in a month if thats all you care about, for real. 2. Coin mixing feature is fuckin amazing. First coin to have it, makes the currency truly anonomous, fucking sweet. 3. The wallet could look a bit user friendlier - custom change address and stuff like that should be hidden in some option or menu option, as to not scare newbies and non-techies. 4. We need an update as to what games and things are on the correct chain, if anyone is using any that are working please post in the thread. 5. Payment platform is fuckin awsome as well, so close to done it seems too. 6. I am much happier with TIPS holding steady at 41-45 then fluctuating from 185 to 285, like dogecoin has been doing, there is something to be said for stability. (just an example because so many people compare to dogecoin) Long live TIPS |

To all those worried about price.
The price will not move if everyone is sitting with their coins in an exchange waiting for a high price.
Why did doge get so big?
People used the coin. People shared the coin. People didn't give a flying F*** what the coin was worth.
This caused the community to grow very large so by the time there was a high price, there was also a lot of buyers and tons of people holding the coin.
The current TIPS situation.
We have a few games - We need more to grow the community.
We have nowhere to spend our coins - we need the pay with fedoracoin team to finish the payment system/we need people to open small niche shops accepting TIPS as payment.
We need to stop talking about price - how many people are going to buy this coin at a higher price if they read this thread?
Very few in my opinion.
Sure there are a few people talking about holding the coin for long term. But, not that it is this case, many times people see that as a troll. Other than that this thread is filled with price price price price price price, like every single person is waiting for the magic number to sell their stash.
Now I am no tech expert or anything, so no sorry I don't have the skills myself to open up a web shop or build a game. And no I don't mean to single out anyone or be rude.
BUT
If we all start thinking of how many TIPS we have as the number of TIPs we have instead of the number of BTC or LTC we can get for them, than the community can continue to grow solid and a steady price increase can begin.
