Hell yeah!

I'll gamble them all away on PND dice before I feed a whale at 1 satoshi...

Damn right, starve the whales!
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Merge Mining Scrypt Coins - Get 4 times your hash power! DOGE/LTC/DGC/CAT/42 on: March 04, 2014, 12:15:35 AM
How is this possible?

Can anyone explain how this works?

It sounds a little too good to be true and you know what they say about that.

Well if I understand correctly. The hashes that are being created by your miner to solve a block for say the LTC chain, may also solve a block for one of the secondary blockchains because the chains are compatible.

This is my very simple understanding of it.

Maybe I am a little late but could this solve our android woes?
Currently trying the windows qt builder to see how and if it works.

Hi there!

Good to have a link with those irc lurkers Smiley E: If dev team feels that any bounties are needed for development/advertising or whatever, please post here. I am sure few fellas will contribute.

I will definitely contribute. I have at least 10 mill TIPS I would contribute to different causes, and services getting made.

500,000 TIPS for someone to make gift card designs I can hand out to people and use to sell TIPS gift cards.

Quote from: icanprogram
# A message to the FedoraCoin community on Bitcointalk #

FedoraCoin has always been a community-centered project.
Every member of the development team joined from the community at some point, even tipsfedora/invisibel (yes, there was a FedoraCoin community before there was FedoraCoin!).

That's why we, the team, were a bit startled to read some of the recent comments on Bitcointalk.
We've always tried to involve the community, since we've always *been* the community.

I'd like to start with debunking a couple of misconceptions that I've seen mentioned.

The first is that development on FedoraCoin has stagnated.
This is far from true.
FedoraCoin has been a project of firsts in the cryptocurrency world.
We brought you the first wallet with built-in coin mixing, we were the first coin to add support for multiple users in a single wallet (more on why this is useful later!).

Right now we're working on preparing everything for the move to the new FedoraCoin identity.
Our next priority will be to use the new multi-user support in the RPC methods to develop the best web-wallet ever.
For new, curious FedoraCoin users, the web-wallet will work like any other: a fast way to start using our fair coin, albeit a bit less safe.
However, the real magic is in the fact that once users are comfortable with FedoraCoin, they can download the wallet to their PC's *while still using the familiar web interface they've grown accustomed to*.
This would also allow us to push out layout and visual changes in the wallet instantly, since there is no upgrade of system packages required.
Another plus is that we can notify everyone when they need to update the wallet because a hard fork is nearing.

Another is that we can't make up our mind about the branding of FedoraCoin.
We've been working with a professional graphics designer for the last couple of weeks about the new identity.
During this time, we've tried to show drafts and progress to the people in the community and we've never tried to keep all of this a secret.

We think that this chasm that has appeared between this part of the community and the rest is a great pity.
No one on the team has ever tried to silence any ideas from the community, let me make that clear.
Shortly after FedoraCoin emerged on /g/, we moved the discussing to #fedoracoin on Freenode (though we moved to #TIPS a couple of weeks later because we couldn't get #fedoracoin registered) and this has been the main meeting place of the FedoraCoin community ever since.
It seems we underestimated the size of the part of the community that keep up through on Bitcointalk and don't visit the subreddit or the IRC.
That's on us, and we're going to fix that.

That's why, starting this week, the FedoraCoin team includes a community manager.
FWA (/u/FedoraWearingAlien) was there when FedoraCoin was born, but had to leave us because of some personal matters shortly after.
Now he's back and he's going to make sure that the FedoraCoin team stays up to date on what happens on Bitcointalk and vice-versa.

This whole affair has been getting to me personally and I hope that with this step we can all get ready to put this behind us.

For good measure, here's an overview of the team with their main responsibility:

tipsfedora/invisbel - FedoraCoin wallet developer and Windows builder
mxtm - Linux builder
MystPhysX - Domain name management and OSX builder
chisefu - Chickenstrips owner, adviser
Nemons - Server management and hosting
FWA - Community management

And finally, myself,

icanprogram - (Web) development
This is the offical statement released from icanprogram one the fedoracoin team members
Hello!
My name is FedoraWearingAlien or FWA if you prefer, I am fedoracoins communnity manager, I have been
away from the project recently due to personal matters but now I am back, So a little background about
myself, I am a programmer/developer in my spare time but I'm also into sysadmin, I've been following
various cryptocoins for a while and finally decided I liked the idea of fedoracoin, I've been here from
the start and I'm ready to help in whatever way I can, seriously, if you guys need anything add me on xmpp
or pm me on reddit, if you like the project and use it, I'll probably be able t help you with whatever you
guys need (fedoracoin related), in the unlikley event you just want to chat, the same thing applys, add me
and we can chat.
TL;DR
I'm here to stop the drama and keep the peace
So if you need anything, message me.

89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Merge Mining Scrypt Coins - Get 4 times your hash power! DOGE/LTC/DGC/CAT/42 on: March 03, 2014, 06:28:34 PM
Hello I have come across this pool and it seem like it should have far more power considering what it is.

http://manicminer.in

This is a merge mining scrypt pool.

At the moment you can mine 9 different coins at the same time, but here is a little breakdown of how it works.

The pool has 2 types of coins.

Coins they consider main chains, and coins they consider secondary chains.

This is how they explain it on their website.

Real power for 1Mhs
Coin    Power
DOGE    333 Khs
LTC    166 Khs
DGC    166 Khs
42    166 Khs
CAT    166 Khs
HUC    1 Mhs
ORG    1 Mhs
PTC    1 Mhs
USC    1 Mhs

As you can see your hash power will be split up between the main coins, but you will put forth full power at the other chains. BUT what is even better is you do not need to mine every coin.

Say you normally mine Doge coin. You can choose not to mine the other main chain coins if you would like so it would be more like this.

DOGE  1 Mhs
HUC    1 Mhs
ORG    1 Mhs
PTC    1 Mhs
USC    1 Mhs

How to Start.

1. Sign up at manicminer.in
2. Click on "Your Account" in the top left and click your username from the dropdown.
3. Enter your addresses for the coins you would like to mine. I suggest making an address for all the secondary coins. As for main coins I would only put the coins you would like to mine as your hash is split up between the main coins.
4. Add your workers on the same page as you added the coins.
5. Click "Info" on the left side and click "Instructions"
6. This will tell you the URL and credentials to use for your miner.

Main coins
Litecoin
Dogecoin
Digitalcoin
42coin
Catcoin

Secondary Coins - Full power all the time
Huntercoin
United Scrypt Coin
Orgcoin
Pesetacoin

So if you are a person who normally mines litecoin, dogecoin, digitalcoin, catcoin, or 42 coin then this is a no brainer to use this pool.
You basically will get up to 4 times your hash power.

SOOOOOO,

Lets promote this pool guys and gals. Scrypt merge mining is power saving and more profitable than normal mining.

ANNNNND

It uses p2pool for many of the coins so you do not need to worry about giant pool hashrates messing with the network.

Happy mining.

mintpaljay... i i want to create 5000 buy orders in one hour... why cant i? if that the way someone deals with his coins.... who are you to decide that its not allowed... leave the guy alone... unban him.. en let him do his work.... this is absolutely a fuck you to the free world...

Wolong and his shills were behind the crash of this coin. The 1337 buyer was actually reviving pnd i seen some 30 m and 48m buy orders go through at 3-4 sat.

Mintpal sucks wolongs micro penis plain and simple.

Hate manipulation, but maybe if everyone set sell orders for 20 satoshi, it would drive down the sell wall, then keep buying up cheap PND and putting it into the 20 satoshi sell bracket. It will eventually kill their manipulation sell wall.

good thinking!...

We could go one step further. Remove the sells completely. No sell walls means the price can rise nice and freely Smiley. Hold for a week and then see what you want to do.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TiPS ★ Kimotos Gravity Well ★ World first coin anonymizer launched! on: March 03, 2014, 05:20:32 PM
Still talking about rebranding huh?

Seems to be a lot of experts in here.  Go to that IRC and see if they will let you join their team.  If not maybe just start your own coin; even clone this one if you think you know what's best.  Call it "The Internet Payment Solution" or whatever.  Take all the newbs with you.  It'll be the best thing for this coin.

This coin is already a legend and you just gotta be on board or not...  Maybe you missed the boat the first time, but if you are here petitioning, it's probably because you made a decision to buy based on the fact that you thought this was going to sail again.  So when you clicked "buy" it's your vote for the fact that you like where this coin is headed.  Now let them do their work at whichever pace they chose, they probably have jobs during the day and families that mean more than this coin.  They were on the first boat, remember that.

Keep in mind with the first takeover the devs were willing to give it up to the community.  It's not like you are going to successfully hijack this coin and tell all the exchanges and pools that you've decided on a name change lol..

I totally agree.

And for everyone out there saying the Devs are stubborn and won't work with the community. TIPS Fedoracoin was them working with the community to compromise. They could have just as easily said we will solely promote as Fedoracoin and put no focus on TIPS, but they did not.

There were some requests to have TIPS more prominent and that is what is happening. These compromises have been made to keep the community happy on all sides.

Remember, there is still a large part of the community that does not want to drop the Fedoracoin, so is that part of the community supposed to be thrown away?

The compromise was made, live with it, promote TIPS and enjoy the ride Smiley

Additionally: Again anyone willing to make some gift card designs with the shield logo please do, I would love to spread TIPS to the every day community. Please and thanks.

Another addition: I have actually stopped looking at my TIPs collection in terms of how many LTC or BTC they will bring. I want 1 Billion TIPS and that is what I will get Smiley

Currently I am making some good progress, the low prices are helping as well Smiley

A HD wallpaper for you guys. And that tipping at oscars? Wow, this could be huge for TiPS.

I know it's not perfect- hand traced, but I do not have access to vector version, and did not want to wait any longer.

Awsome thanks for your work Smiley

The debate ended long ago, people just keep going on and on.

This is basically what the logo will be.
http://imgur.com/a/mRfFM#JmtfP2h

The Fedoracoin is not being dropped, but as you can see the TIPS is going to be more prominent. This is the plan as far as marketing as well.

Myself, I like the logo. I also liked a few of Fayens logo's but we can't have them all I guess, and no matter what it is hard to keep everyone happy. We should focus on spreading the good about TIPS Fedoracoin and as time goes by maybe some other things that are disliked can be changed but all this focus on anger and not getting the logo we want and stuff is never good. We must focus on the good. Marketing is all subjective anyways. At the end of the day a company named "Google" is turning in to Big brother. Another company called "Apple" is also doing the same, and a website called "Kijiji" changed the game for online classifieds.

"Google" sounds like a term for playing with yourself or being a stalker.
"Apple" is a fruit.
What the hell is a "Kijiji"?

Also,

Is there anyone on this thread that would like to make some designs using this logo for gift cards. I have spoken to some people but they are not the best people for being quick, if anyone has the skills I would love to have something to be able to print out and give to the every day community. Please and thanks.

Google originated from a misspelling of the word googol which is a term for the number one followed by one hundred zeros. This name was picked to denote that this search engine wanted to offer huge quantities of information for people. The name fits.

Apples name when founder Wozniak said to Jobs, if they could not think of a better name by the end of the day, then Apple Computers was to be the name (The forbidden fruit that gave man knowledge ). Its also rumoured that apple doesn't sound computer geeky.  its true and apple brand is still far from geeky. The name fits the product well.

No idea why Kijiji is named that. never heard of it till now. But its generic so it could mean anything. But then again a classifieds does sell anything, so a name that can mean anything fits.

Now this coin is about tipping fiscally right? So a fedora just confuses matters. A fedora is not cool. It may be to geeks, but to the hot barmaid that takes tips, its far from cool.

Just like THE Facebook dropped the THE we should drop the fedora completely. it means nothing regarding tipping fiscally.

http://youtu.be/dU6scly2AFU?t=2m55s

I feel like you may have missed the point I was going for.

Ask every person on the street about Google or Apple. The point is that the normal Joe doesn't know or care what the company is called, they care that they have a product or service that is useful.

The fact is, you are looking way to deep in to it and dropping the from Facebook is very different then changing the entire name.

TIPS Fedoracoin is called what it is called because it is meant o be a TIP of the Fedora, a TIP of the hat, a kind gesture, a sign of appreciation. My point is that if Apple was called banana they would still be huge because they have a product and service that serves a purpose. So does TIPS.

Forget about the name and marketing for a minute and remember the actual development that is happeneing. The team keeps bringing out features that are ne to crypto and you guys in the community get so caught up with an image those breakthrough are getting lost in the dust.

And I would also like to state that ya remember when TIPS Fedoracoin sat at 2 latoshis? That was a real thing. For weeks. Even hit 1 for a little bit. So saying the coin needs to be changed after it has had upwards of a 25 times price increase is just plain crazy.

All that being said, I am still looking for someone to make some giftcards for giving TIPS to the public, anyone in?

GOOOOOOO TIPS

94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PND] The Official PandaCoin thread! [Scrypt][KGW][NO PREMINE] on: March 03, 2014, 04:33:23 AM
In my opinion the peopl that sell low arent so much people using school equipment and such but teenagers living at home. Ever teenager who had a video card is now a potential miner. At the end of the day mom and dad can bitch about a high electricity bill but does a teenager care, no, because they have no expenses at all, don't understand the concept of money yet and have the chance to make a few "free as they see it" dollars.

I know at least a handful of younger people I know that started out with a system very similar to mine in speed, maybe 100khash difference.

At the end of 3 months I had 10 times the profit they had, but they were just as happy as I was.

Then I know a guy who is buying a system right now, because he wants to be a part if crypto. He doesn't even care about profit short term. He wants to plug in a USB and walk away, use a multipool and eventually ave a Bitcoin or 2.

There are many reasons people sell low, for PND I am going to say those selling right now are not new coin holders but people who had large stashes from the start and do not want to risk selling lower.

+1

AGAIN.  THESE ARE THE POWER PLAYERS.  THEY DON'T LIKE BCTALK.  THEY HANG OUT AT IRC.  THESE ARE THE PEOPLE TO DISCUSS NEW OPTIONS WITH.

I have mod status for REddit.  I would be more than happy to work with an artist on a new theme.... especially the light blue background.  But we have to work together with these guys.  I'm not gonna highjack a coin, that just makes us look like jackasses.  The compromise is TiPS (a.k.a. FedoraCoin).

here is the logo and color scheme:
http://imgur.com/a/mRfFM#JmtfP2h

WTF are you talking about? Do you know how MUCH coins I have and how MUCH I lose everyday for not selling them?! Power players who don't like bctalk?! The president may not like ice cream, but he will eat it if that is what the people want. Dev's are creating coins, but the community itself is deciding how much they worth. We are not here to read where they decided to talk. We are talking about FEDORACOIN... not IRCCOIN! Here is the place where you can read and talk about cryptos... not in IRC. I'm tired of bs's....

It is absolutely ridiculous to think the only place to talk about a coin is BCTalk. You say IRCCoin, it isnt BCTalkcoin either. As of next week their will be someone in charge of keeping the community, such as this forum more updated on what is going on. Until then IRC is where you can speak to the people doing the work.

You have purchased a lot of coins? Then you must have seen something in this coin, and these issues you are having are not new. They were here before as well where most the talk happened on IRC.

Guys remember, you purchased or mined a coin with this logo and this name. So if you truly believe that with this logo, name, and having to go on IRC is an issue, you likely should should have waited till things where a bit more figured out.

Like I said though, as of next week there will be a person specifically in charge of cross community talk, hold tight and more information will show up here, until then, I ask that anyone who does use IRC keep the updates rolling on here.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TiPS ★ Kimotos Gravity Well ★ World first coin anonymizer launched! on: March 02, 2014, 08:41:23 PM
Alright guys, here is some official information brought from the Devs on IRC.

I am not a Dev, would like to say before I get any chatter about that Tongue

But I went on IRC and spoke to the people in charge. No Invis is not back yet but the other Devs are hard at work.

1. The logo

The logo has been chosen to be the shield that can be found here. http://imgur.com/a/mRfFM#JmtfP2h
The reason it is not updated on the thread is because the graphic designer that is working on it has been a bit busy as well, it is not 100% but this is the idea.

2. FWA has rejoined the project.

What does this mean? He is going to be the one on the fedoracoin team that is in charge of community management. He will be the one we see on here more often than not and will keep the ideas flowing between the different communities......reddit, IRC, forums, BCTalk.
He will be back in action next week, hold tight folks.

3. The name is staying as Fedoracoin.

The name of the coin is staying as Fedoracoin. The ticker is staying as TIPS. TIPS is planned to be more prominently displayed in the logo and marketing though. This is why it was changed back on coinmarketcap. At the request of the developers.

4. Graphic design

We know the logo is being designed, but so is the wallet. The wallet is being completely overhauled in terms of look and feel. Yes it will be something different then what you know as a wallet today.

5. The wallet itself

There were changes mentioned earlier in the thread about RPC user management. This is in development and when it is completed it will be explained more in detail. The short of it is, it will be possible to set up web wallets that use the local daemon to keep the coins safe.

The names you should know.

Invisibel (BCTalk) / tipsfedora (IRC) -     Lead Coin Developer
icanprogram (IRC) -                                Developer in charge of Sites and Services
mxtm (IRC) -                                           Linux Professional
MystPhysX (IRC/BCTalk) -                       Domain names and OSX wallets
chisefu (IRC) -                                        Confidant and Professional Pool Operations
Nemons -                                                Hosting and Server Management
nerd_name -                                          Graphic designer
FWA -                                                     Community management

***All of this information has come from the development team which I spoke to on IRC only moments ago. ***

A lot of people angry at the people dumping the coin, what did you expect?

Happens to every single coin like this when it hits an exchange.

Think of it this way. If you had a gigantic hashpower, and a coin was making almost double what the rest of coins are, then why wouldn't you take profit?

Do not be angry because you do not see the trends of alt-coins.

When they hit exchanges they get dumped, so join the dumpers and get back in lower, no reason to complain.

To put things in perspective, i mined for 1 day about a week ago. If PND where to hit 50 I would have made around 7 BTC in a single day. That is a huge increase from the 0.05 BTC many other coins give per day at the moment and to be honest, I do not, and none of you deserve to be that wealthy that quickly, sorry.

AND

If you plan on holding for the long term anyways then it doesn't matter what the price is right now does it? Only matters if you plan on dumping soon.
