Hi there, that does not mean proof of stake, it means some of the useful security features of proof of stake. Please be advised that my objective is pragmatic reduction of electricity wastage without compromising security. The Bitcointalk presence will be updated before long, I have been focusing on driving strategic alliances and real world activities. In the meantime if you would like to talk on skype feel free to send me a private massage.

Nice one sputters! Never gets old, even at all. Maybe type more? Always so entertaining. Hahahaha kidiot! Genius. You do always make yourself look so fantastic.

The real community is alive and well, and winding down use of this forum as previously stated several times. Great things are happening. Progress made, doing what I said we would, like I said we would. It's going to keep on going and you get to watch it all from your beloved soapbox! Lucky you!

carboncointalk.org you know you want to

Dev thinks his coin is too good for bitcoin talk, more like too scammy for bitcoin talk.

Too good for you Dim. How many real scams have you actually called? Strikes me that real scams are still happening, all of which have online presences which look fantastic, and totally up to date announcements on this forum.

Your foul language and abuse has gone unmoderated continually as has your refusal to listen to reason. The move away from this forum is completely justifiable on that basis alone. Have you thought about what you are going to do with this subaccount of yours when this stops being updated?
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: September 18, 2014, 10:11:05 AM
You might want to add Swisscex to the OP and remove Coined-up.

This will be updated soon there are many more pressing things at the moment. There are several exchanges to be added here including coins-e and crypto-trade. See carboncoin.cc for an up to date list.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: September 18, 2014, 10:02:07 AM
It's crap because talk is cheap, and OP has lots of it.

Oh honestly not another one.

Thanks for the bump Sputters. http://www.carboncointalk.org - where we actually bother to moderate abusive behavior, and this factually incorrect nonsense would result in a permanent ban
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GRE] GreenCoin | Merged Mining Soon! on: September 11, 2014, 07:33:52 PM
Hey there,

I'm the lead developer of GreenCoin. The investors backing GRE are interested in purchasing your coin so that we can change our name to Carbon Coin.

Please contact me regarding the matter.

Thank you.

Ncsupanda,

With the greatest respect I had already been active on the Carboncoin for about 4 months when Biodieselchris decided to get you to throw up Greencoin in July, very largely using the same rhetoric I originally posted on the thread I started, which he actually posted on calling us worthless, before you come back to me with anything about the originality of your idea...

wow - MC of $12k. Totally worthless.

@Chris that's about where you are now isn't it?

Carboncoin is still very much a going concern with an active community, as it was long before your project started. I am actually trying to help the environment with what we are doing here - we have had only very modest backing at this stage, and have achieved what we have as me working full time for 6 months on no income with a lot of help from the community, because we believe in what we are doing and believe we might be able to have a positive impact on the problem of soaring carbon emissions.

Anyone wishing to support us or invest should send me a personal message and I will initiate direct contact with them. Alternatively you can visit our website carboncoin.cc and forum carboncointalk.org to find out more about joining the movement.

The existence of Greencoin does absolutely nothing to help me, my project/community or, to my mind, the environment (if you would like me to highlight some of the flaws in your model from an environmental perspective then please let me know) ; the fact that you would send me a personal message to ask to purchase the name of our active cryptocurrency and environmental project, Carboncoin, is frankly outrageous (if not somewhat delusional) and irritating to the point where it has actually caused me to venture onto your thread for the first time, in spite of having been well aware of what you've been doing since your and Chris' launch 2 months ago.

If your investors wish to have some exposure to Carboncoin without helping with infrastructure you might refer them to our online media presence or any of the several exchanges we are listed on.

You are welcome to come and help with what we are trying to do here at any point. It strikes me that having someone with your energy active over here would be of great value to our environmental objectives. I am totally open to a collaboration, but it is Carboncoin as it is now and shall continue, and the structure that I have designed and implemented personally, which will have the impact needed by everyone on the environment.

Certainly, lots has been going on. Waiting on final stage web development for several services providing an interface between Carboncoin and online retail/the conventional financial system.

Considerable effort has been made bringing our online presence up to a position where we can get our message across as efficiently as possible.  Animations are still underway but subject to delays, due to the digital media guru we have helping us also having a full time job at a prestigious agency.

Instructional videos are on their way too which I am going to do myself, this delay due to a member of the community saying he was going to do them and then failing to come through for the team.

We have made good progress on our social media campaigns which are to go live imminently and there has been good activity on twitter which can be thought of as our news feed, if you like.

I am presenting a talk about the project in London towards the end of October.

Our android wallet is in final stage development and I will be getting an update and an expected release date over the next couple of days.

I have engaged the first business who will publicly accept the coin and this will be released in due course (within the month).

I am winding down my use of this forum because it does nothing for us. The trolling eats everyone's time and positivity, so I would urge you to keep abreast of announcements on Carboncointalk which is active and where news will feature sooner than here.

Several announcements are to be released within the week on there and I will also endeavour to update reddit.

Come and join us at carboncointalk.org, timewasters get banned for trolling, and spamming. Carboncoin is all about fresh air after all.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: August 27, 2014, 05:43:59 PM
Looking for some Moderators for /r/CARBCoin. Only requirements are a decent knowledge of CarbonCoin and Reddit itself. I'd like to get some activity into the Subreddit but I'm also more focused on my Minecraft server which takes up a lot of my free time, which is why I'd like to draft in some mods. I'll mainly just be managing the CSS.

@axismundi, you alright with that?

EDIT: axismundi approved this in PM, so if you are interested please post on this thread. Preferably you'll be able to speak in clear English.

Absolutely, no problem with me Smiley
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: August 21, 2014, 01:02:00 AM
Hey guys, has the block reward on CARB reduced recently? Reason I ask is it seems the CARB mined daily per MH/s has dropped on the pool even though the difficulty is only 4 Huh

The halving interval for Carboncoin is 50,112 blocks. So there was a reward reduction at block 150,336.

https://github.com/carboncointrust/CarboncoinCore/blob/master/src/chainparams.cpp#L40

Thanks for this

Took the words right out of my mouth Titan Smiley Carboncoin.cc now updated with current pools and exchanges. Carbon.basshash.com has been back working for some time and is currently active w/ about 80MH.

Also had a very good meeting this evening with the first business who is going to officially accept Carboncoin, so it's all happening. Coinedup will be winding up shortly now we are established on a few other exchanges, worth picking up the coins below 2s there in the next few days, as they're the cheapest available. Think the community should be looking at doing something nice for coinedup dev (Pete, I believe) in the future, will start a threat over on CCT.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: August 19, 2014, 01:17:27 AM
It's inconvenient and very central bankesque.

It's a good security feature. 20M is a lot of coins in percentage terms, 0.125% in one shot is quite enough. It is also a function of memory in new client and unavoidable
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: August 19, 2014, 12:22:03 AM
There appears to be a approx 21000000 withdrawal limit set in the wallet.

yes it's 20M as a guide. Was introduced in 0.9.1
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: August 16, 2014, 11:35:50 AM
i'd sooner store my NXT at BTER then support CarbonCoin  Grin

Well dont forget to ask your parents first Sputters, you know what happened last time
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: August 06, 2014, 12:13:58 PM
Nobody is claiming that this will "save the world" nor "end global warming"

Just one quick comment re the above: I'm certainly going to do my best to that end, whether or not it is possible.

Scrypt is bad for the environment, but ASIC's are very energy efficient, and Carboncoin's rapid halflife means that speculative, competitive mining is disincentivised on a long term basis, unlike BTC which has been shown to use more electricity the higher the price goes due to the increased profitabilty of mining (I should say compared to fiat currency and conventional banking it is still MUCH more efficient, and in no way do I mean to do it down - I just wish to use the value generation mechanism of this technology as a force for good, without using energy unnecessarily). I also would like to see wealth generated in people with an environmental conscience - this is far better than it being in the hands of bankers, oil speculators etc in my opinion.

What we will achieve with the adoption of this coin in terms of the environment is a viable, workable, non-legislative, non-punitive alternative to carbon credits as one way to tackle the problem of soaring emissions.  It's a bit bigger than a few trees in a field. That said the 2300 native British hardwoods in Hampshire are doing very well. We will be visiting with a few members of the community in mid September to see how they are coming along.

Due to the way the Carboncoin has developed - partly in relation to it's acceptance (or lack thereof) by many of the bitcoin community initially, coins will be released from the environmental wallet (effectively an early adopter currently holding about 4.5% of all the coins ever http://carbonchain.info/address/LFsTe6yRk1TXuGGW6kKwG8L3N4pkx5b6Do - not premined but donated by the community out of pure altruism) at a point when we are in the mainstream, because it is only then that The Carboncoin Trust will be able to achieve what we need to for the environment.

Due to the timing of the seasons, saplings to be planted this winter actually need to be seeded this or early next month so it is unlikely that we will be able to plant any this year, however with things happening the way they are we should be able to more than compensate for it next year. The fact remains that between here and Wyoming we have space and planning for over a million trees, this is arranged and it is just a case of producing and planting saplings, but I don't want to stop there. I want to fill that up then find more land and keep on going. It wont just be forests either - we will plant natural carbon sink ecosystems which we will construct having sponsored research in the academic community on exactly the best way to do so.

If anyone wants to talk about a fiat/btc donation in the next fortnight so we can plant a notional amount of saplings this year then as ever get in touch but as I said by next year we should be well on our way to making a real difference and a genuine positive impact with Carboncoin on its own.

Onwards and upwards!
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: August 02, 2014, 10:20:44 AM
Have been in touch with the op at coinedup he's focussing on other projects but keeping our Carbon market open which is great for us.

Re giveaways: If the amount is low I am all for it as it is good to get new users on board, but will be starting a thread on CCTalk for people to claim coins based on things they have done to measurably benefit Carboncoin (getting a friend to download a wallet and sign up to the forum, telling an influential friend about what we are doing etc), think this is more useful than making it easy for free coins to be claimed. 250k is very generous indeed for a tweet Smiley (but for only 4 more days it's a nice positive start to getting it out there). I think the focus should really be on earning coins in order to build value.

I will be formalising the list of bounties/outstanding tasks on CCTalk in the next few days. For those interested I am thinking of creating a few temporary carbon-paid roles to free me up for getting the development/admin tasks done. Anyone with time interested in getting involved at that level send me a pm and we can have a conversation about structuring roles to best take advantage of individual's skill sets - can be anything from programming to copywriting.

We have been working extensively on getting the forum tied in with social media recently with good progress being made, and I am currently tendering for the best android/mac-os mobile wallet solution - to include paper wallet scraping feature now we have our paper wallet service up thanks to Oldminer Cool
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: August 01, 2014, 10:40:19 PM
Looks like CARB is still going strong! I'm extremely sorry that I've forgotten about /r/CARBCoin - I will make sure to try and improve it over the coming days Smiley

Don't worry have not forgotten your bounty! Has been an epic few months

http://www.cryptocoinrank.com/Carboncoin

Looks like the API link is down.  Anyone know whats up?  Huh

The site admin hasn't been active for 4 days - have messaged. Nothing wrong that I can see, possibly due to issues with the mLTC to mBTC switch at coinedup, that's all I can think it might be. Will update when I hear anything Smiley
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN: The Completely Carbon Neutral Cryptocurrency on: July 21, 2014, 09:43:08 PM
Paper wallet is now live!

Generate: http://carbonaddress.tk/

Please post here should you have any issues with it.

Brilliant!!!
error i think, its saying go to Blockchain.info or Blockexplorer.com to check your balance or spend CARB, should be changed??

Working fine here. You should be seeing a random mouse generator

@oldminer: you see it after you've done the mouse bit, some text to change Smiley

@zeb Yep needs changing - the "blockchain" mobile client has an excellent feature of loading coins onto the wallet by scanning the QR code of a paper one, but obviously requires the mobile functionality, which you'll be pleased to hear we are working on. Right now our current wallet can import from the console in the debug window. See https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/How_to_import_private_keys_v7+ for details.

There is so much going on! Will release an update on the stakeholder only section of carboncointalk a week before I put it out on general including the reddit and twitter feed so you can all tell your friends and get them involved - have been having to do a little work for my rent of late so haven't been able to go as full power as I'd like - all that is to change within the month however. If you want to help me get things done sooner please message, it will happen regardless though I assure you. Our price has some real support on exchange so it's already started
