Bob - I am more concerned with real economics, my background. I'm not saying we are actively discouraging miners but only for the mining phase. The energy wasteage has got to stop, as does the climate change denial. Right now humans choosing to take on an opinion purely because it is convenient for them to do so is completely normal, not long ago this was called schizophrenia.
This project is as much about raising awareness and fighting these battles as it is anything else. Those buying in will see phenomenal returns - if that is what they are interested in. We want everyone to make money but for a percentage of that to do some good.

Carboncoin started life as a scrypt clone but if you had actually bothered to read this thread you would see that the mining phase is going to come to an end with the advent of new technology. However as usual it is convenient for you in your pig-ignorance to ignore that fact.


We do not covet mining growth, mining is the fairest distribution mechanism for the currency - but as a method of network operation it is apallingly wasteful as, to give you what miniscule credit you deserve, it appears you understand.

There's not been much news of late but that's about to change. We just found the problem which was stopping the compilation (compiler related not code related) so there's about to be lots more going on, in addition to all the trollfeeding...

Anyone got any experience fixing errors seemingly caused by the minGW cross compiler? That's what is behind the delay to the update. It's no doubt one very small thing. Mac Wallet working like a charm.

Dimmy will you please work on your content, you are the least amusing troll I have ever encountered. We all know you are running on a less powerful system than most but maybe you could read some books or watch some instructional videos on your joke making to make up for it? At least put some effort in.

Hi Oldminer I had a look thanks, they are definitely launching into our target audience so maybe there is something we can do. Schedule is pretty rammed for the two weeks after the client update is finally finished (having windows compilation trouble now). It is being done very thoroughly. There is a section devoted to this on the new forum which is also very nearly ready!

Thanks for your attention, forum went up yesterday, so empty and newborn would be more accurate - planning to make a few tweaks to it today before announcing. We have a new site in production to be finished over the next few days.

We have a mac wallet in test running the 0.9.1 protocol carrying our new branding (the expired link above was carrying a wallet with the old branding) and we are in final stages of getting the windows wallet up and running - it has not been straight forward switching over but we are getting there and the result will be more robust than most of the other implementations out there.

We're testing our mac wallet on the 0.9.1 protocol. It's looking great. Looking for bugs for the next day or so before general release

New client changes ticker from CARB to CARBON so we get to shake our slightly boring carbohydrate association! Doesn't need to affect the reddit though - Will be issuing an update there later with new clients/ website etc

The next-but-one update (2 months), our Carbon implementation, will be a system completely unique to carboncoin, enabling us to run with greater energy efficiency than any other currency.

This current update brings us in line with the latest version of the bitcoin protocol

We are exploring new technology as it comes out such as anonymity features, as well as on board chat functionality, which may be included after the Carbon implementation, subject to their security

The new build is working - we have sent coins back and forth from the first 0.9.1 client. Windows compilation ahead - mac gui wallet is under test.
