981  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: March 25, 2016, 01:29:43 PM

Do you really think that someone (like Paul Vernon) would waste his sucessful business by stealing? People who say that should really think again. If he wants to cash he could sell his multi million dollar exchange, right?

Ok, please then explain to us WHY he did it then.

If you forget about the hack, and just focus on all the people who lost money AFTER that fact...

Those coins were stolen too... not by the hacker in question but by Paul.

Unless you have some better way to explain it... we will all be listening.

Perfect

Remember that we entrusted our money with a business.  They mismanaged the money and won't return it.  With any business like a bank, it wouldn't matter how they lost the money, they would be responsible for it.  Usually they should have some kind of insurance policy to cover theft and should be able to pay customers back.  It's not our fault that they mismanaged the money.  And of course it's very likely that they stole it themselves.

If that was all they did that wouldn't be that bad But ....
They First lost all the money and then still Took in New money knowing very well they didn't have the money to cover their balance sheets.
Banks can be pretty criminal at times I agree but ive yet to see a bank with the Big Brass Balls to try an pull some shit like this.
There is No doubt at all that Cryptsy Owned PV and his cronies Should go to jail for a long time.

I'm getting a little worried by all the brandnew accounts asking to become active delegates.
There seem to be lots and lots of them all Very experienced in crypto for years only now got around to BCT.

well your only input has been   "shills!, shills, everywhere!"
maybe a little tramatized are we?

sorry you missed the ico....

You clearly lack the ability to read and you are a clear example of what I'm talking about.
I guess my posts are hitting a little to close to home.

Why would I Care about any of this if I missed the ICO.

And your response is very indicative of certain types of BCT users that might feel the need to constantly make new accounts.

If you can't follow instruction to put up a node then you will not know how to maintain it hence not going to get many votes.

Let me just make a few general comments and observations.

Lots of people are talking about becoming delegates.  This is good.

Many of these are saying (in one way or another), "Vote for me and I will give you a cut of the rewards" or "I won't vote for anybody that doesn't give me a cut of forging rewards".  This is bad.

The first job of a Lisk Active Delegate is SECURE THE LISK BLOCKCHAIN.  Not make money for themselves.  Not make money for others.  SECURE THE LISK BLOCKCHAIN.

I'm no different from anybody else.  You offer me money, I'll take it, and I'll take it if I am voted to be an Active Delegate.  But I argued early on with Max that offering forging rewards in Lisk was a mistake.  I finally shut up because Lisk is his coin and not mine, and I have been known to be wrong occasionally.  Smiley

Crypti is a pure non-inflationary Proof of Stake (PoS) coin with Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) voting.

Lisk is an inflationary Proof of Work (PoW) coin with Delegated Proof of Stake With Forging Rewards (DPoSWFR) voting.

DPoSWFR has the single advantage of offering a motivation for somebody to become an Active Delegate and put up a Lisk node.

DPoSWFR has several disadvantages.  DPoSWFR puts additional new votes and voting power directly and solely in the hands of the 101 Delegates who need votes to stay in their position of power (oligarchy).  DPoSWFR motivates the creation by one individual of multiple declared or even covert sock-puppet accounts to receive multiple rewards (monopoly / crime), at the expense of Lisk node decentralization.  DPoSWFR encourages a "miner-get-rich-quick" mentality (greed) that detracts from and even subverts the delegate prime directive of SECURE THE LISK BLOCKCHAIN.  And DPoSWFR creates a motivational gap between Active Delegates running nodes for 150K Crypti in Year One, and Standby Delegates running nodes for no reward at all (income disparity).

People tend to think of Crypti as a "loser".  In fact Crypti had many successes and things to admire.  These include being a non-inflationary coin; the development of sidechains / dapps by Version 0.5.5; and finally, making true strides towards being a DPoS system with altruistic, unpaid delegates who did their job with no forging rewards.  I have a whole side post I believe is worth reading on this topic, "The Truth About Delegates" :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1346646.msg13832600#msg13832600

The cost of running 1 or even 101 DPoS cloud VPS or Raspberry Pi 2 Lisk nodes is negligible overhead in today's world, both for individuals who believe in Lisk enough to run a single node, and for the upcoming Lisk billion-dollar financial / sidechain-dapp ecosystem that could pay for running all 101 of them.

This fact is the key to getting away from Bitcoin and Ethereum mining farms, whether ASIC or GPU based. This fact is the key to the future.

I still think altruistic unpaid delegates would have been the best path for Lisk, however long it would take to find them.   Instead, we have greedy paid delegates.

So be it.  But never forget this system is a choice, and alternatives exist.

And also never forget, the delegate prime directive is SECURE THE LISK BLOCKCHAIN.  Not "make money".

It would be nice if there was a way to "vote" rewards to Nodes after each month or quarter and also options to Remove delegates when the liskers think their not adding enough value.
So a much smaller flat payment for being a delegate and then options to reward delegates that we deem added a lot of value.

Hi guys, congratulations for being part of Lisk.

I bought my ones on day 1.

I follow this talk since day one but this is my first comment in here.

I will write in the Topic of delegates.

Because we need delegates, I will give my vote to the one who share profits with his voters (us) so in that case we also we can give away some to others to integrate them in the community,  also I will give my vote to someone who works for the good name of Lisk and his community (us and future members)

a delegate has to be someone who is not just getting rich by himself, a delegate "I suggest" should be someone with projects in mind to spread Lisk, I will suggest that delegates should consider to donate dapps to the community, for schools, hospitals, we should create dapps to fight world poverty, also providing faucets etc....

opportunities are endless, you guys (community) are some of the most clever people in the world so ideas are unlimited, so delegates I want to encourage you to work along with Max and Oliver and the Lisk community to bring this project to a whole new level, if we work and push this together Lisk, like in the ICO, Lisk will go far an above our imagination and our expectations.

so if you want my vote I'm happy to support you, if you commit yourself for the community, well you have my vote, if any of you are in Melbourne Australia well lets do it. may be we can do this as a team.

have a good day guys!!!!1

There should be only delegates, which are making dapps or running successfull marketing operations.

Blablabla my mommy didn't love me enough

good luck!

Well I have to totally agree with your First point.
"There should be only delegates, which are making dapps or running successfull marketing operations. "

No, I dont like the idea of dev's being the only people who should be a delegate.

I will vote for a delegate who will share his/her forging profits and has a stable node that adds to the network.

But ultimately the holders will decide who will be delegate, with their voting power.

So you don't care about their value add as long as u get paid .. got it .
It doesn't say only Devs read again.

Yes true, but as I said in the end the people will vote and if the majority goes for dev's and marketeers etc then my vote might be worth nothing at all Smiley

So thats the part that I like, the users/holders decide who gets voted and who doesn't.

And yes I like money, and if a delegate shares profit and runs a succesfull node then its a win for me and the network.

That why I listed the Criteria I Personally will be using to choose the people I vote for.
I Hope that other people will use a little more then of I'm getting some money here is my vote like they do in the Us senate.
I wont be running for delegate because I don't think I add enough value to qualify.
Giving your votes away for a little profit might very well hurt Lisk (and the value of the lisk your holding)in the long run by not having the right people running the nodes. If you view Lisk as another quick pump and dump and you plan to exit as soon as it reaches XX value then your way is the best I agree.

Also I don't really understand why one person could have 3 delegate accounts or nodes I know such a thing might not be that easy to enforce but Id like lisk devs to try.

Who will I Not be voting for.
1.
Anyone trying to get more then 1 node I think the influence of every delegate should be limited to one node you could be hit by a bus robbed/hacked whatever.
2.
If you made your BCT account This year. "ive been in crypto since 2013 blabla but only just made my BCT account" you can go F**k yourself ive heard it all before scammer."
3.
Anyone that does not clearly show their value add to the lisk project. sharing the profits with your voters does not qualify you as a good candidate Infact it might take away some of the motivation to work hard for Lisk because your getting less out of it.

Who will get My vote.
1.
People that can prove their value add to Lisk.(past projects future plans skills whatever)  and the banana guy he's funny and active.

Huh Huh My bithire wallet was working well just yesterday, but now it always crashes.

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application'ss support team for more information."

Is this coin really dead?

Where are the devs?

Wow these devs where probably the same Cunts that made Munnecoin that wallet had the exact same problem.
Devs cashed out and are gone.
Be on the lookout for their next project great idea nice looking website and as soon as it comes to implementing all the plans Poof gone again.

Hello all, I'm a bitcoin and cryptocurrency enthusiast from Ukraine. I'm deeply into all that cryptocurrency and decentralisation stuff and I want to support lisk decentralisation.
I want to became a lisk delegate with lisk server in Ukraine.
I have 2 options: home dedicated server (any needed power) or VPS. Which will be better?
How many RAM and CPU power do I need for that?
In this thread I saw information about a low latency requirement, so from the home I have a ping 42 ms to reddit.com, 24 ms to google.de and 155 ms to facebook.com. According to speedtest.net my home connection is 19.1/1.45 and 9 ms. Is that enough?

I'd recommend the VPS.  I have 100/20 mbps connection, but I don't consider it good enough for this.  It is a business thing, and even good home service is not good enough.  Just my opinion

Any good assumption about what CPU power and RAM amount we need for that?

There will be full How to's and guides available when the time arrives.
Don't forget you will need Votes from your fellow liskers to get the delegate position so far you havent impressed me as someone with great knowledge or skills needed to fill such a important position.
The fact that your posting on a 0 posts BCT account also doesn't help your case.
(no offence intended.)

7 million .. still cannot believe it.
I can't believe it's not butter, spray.

Did the devs already told how they are going to use/spend this money?

Yes their going to come to your house with a Big Check and give it all to you.

I saw a picture of them on an airplane going to his place to deliver the check earlier today!

Yes I saw that Picture as wel i think their throwing in all those girls as a bonus because your such a nice guy.

Not to mention their holding critical amounts of several coins hostage for many months now.
I know some coins that had around 10% of total coin stuck in Cryptsy and their devs are getting No response.
Millions of coins that could be Dumped at any time. No chance that anyone in their right mind will put serious money in those coins since those Cryptsy thieves can decide they need some more money and dump them.
They still hold the power to fuck up a lot of altcoin markets.
The wallets have been "in maintenance" since before the official trading shutdown and "support" does fuck all to resolve this.
993  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: March 23, 2016, 10:24:36 PM
Yeah they locked my account too. The excuse somehow is that I haven't signed in for 6 months. I asked them to unlock it and they start asking my "security questions" which of course I don't remember because I probably just made up something random for them and never expected to need them because I don't lose my passwords. I know my account name and password and have access to my email linked with the account. That is, according to them, not enough. They can't be sure I'm the account owner so they rather just steal my coins. What a nice customer protection. Really fishy, but the support "Gretchen" keeps acting as if they're even doing something legit. Why they bother, beyond me. (Just to fuck with people?)

After I did some googling including this topic and accused them of being obviously dishonest as you can read all over the internet, they stopped answering. It's now "Being Processed since 5 days 8 hours".

I'd taken most of my coins off already and I don't think I had much there, but still this makes me angry. Even more it makes me angry they're still somehow pretending to be legit. I really hope no one trades there anymore. Why aren't they already listed here as a scam site?  Angry

Ye had the exact same thing happen , the fact that I had emails with confirmations for withdrawls in my inbox for less then 5 months ago didn't seem to matter.

It is predetermined to rise 1% each week and is in the script, everything updates automatically at the end of each week. The coin everywhere will rise at the end of each week. What am I not answering here. IT IS PROGRAMMED TO RISE 1% EACH WEEK. IT IS CREATED TO DO THIS!!!!

Please tell me if I have missed something because the concept is very simple.

Thanks
you missed the point, that no one will buy your coin at these prices you dream of.
and that's because it has nothing to offer except the hope to sell it for more.
it reminds me of the ROM(rise only market)-Markets on yobit.
their idea is that you can't sell for less than you bought, so the price is always rising.
at the beginning there was some action, but later there's just a little action now and then.
this means people sit on their sell orders for months, years or forever.
I think that's all you have missed Wink

well he clearly knows this he has to.
Its like a pyramid scheme as longs as your the First one to sell all your coins you will make money everyone else will get fucked when they run out of suckers to buy.

i pretty much agree with you...i think this whole tier system was part of a delay tactic.they know how to police others and cant protect shit

I is way more scary then that they where asking all kinds of information from their users to get "upgraded" while they knew this wouldn't help.
A company this shady holding a shitload of records from people.
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 23, 2016, 12:54:26 PM
If someone recommends X provider here and half of the delegates end up using that provider that would make Lisk much more vulnerable than if everyone found their own solution.

More than this: All nodes might be end up in the same country and that's not in our interest, I guess. So everyone should find a professional hoster in his/hers country and run it there. Or just take a look on the Lisk network when it's up and pick a country where a node is needed.

Yes I think the Delegates would be spread as much as possible country/GP wise/ wise language wise and especially Hosting wise.

Same situation on BTER unfortunately. I have raised support ticket with them also.

+1

I wonder if its possible to voluntarily de-list from exchanges which are not reputable?

Offcourse it isn't its their Choice to have the coins on their exchange to attract customers no way they will give the coin devs such a choice.
but I wouldn't list it in the Opp or on the homepage or if u do put a clear warning next to it.

Also I still don't see the Value add of cryptopia they should be happy to have nav to attract customers not make us Pay to get on there.
