1201  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners - $174.95 with Free Hosting and Electricity! Double Payout Promo on: March 25, 2014, 11:33:07 PM
Regarding the hosting offers you provide. Is it possible to setup a backup pool?
That's something I'd like to know as well.
And how about if a miner crashes/gets stuck?
What can you do/offer, if a miner goes out of service after the warranty-period?

Thanks for the questions!

We are working on the ability to have a back up url. We should have this ready sometime next week!

The miner controller will reboot if it gets stuck

We have plans to release an extended warranty plane. Stay tuned!
Would be good to know what will be done in such a case (miner broken/kaputt), BEFORE a hosted mining is ordered.  Smiley

let conf file for mining solo, not where I can not find

mooncoin.conf:

rpcuser=someusername
rpcpassword=someverysecretpassword
server=1
daemon=1
listen=1

Check it out, if that works. On Linux (mooncoind of local P2Pool-Server) it does.
But keep in mind, that it can take loooong to find a block as a solo-miner. Most of the time you're better off with a pool.
As always, I'd recommend P2Pool: http://www.reddit.com/r/MoonCoin/comments/1xd1na/moon_p2pools

waiting moon  go to  da moon   Smiley
If you only wait for it, If everybody only waits for it, it will never happen. You could buy some MOON, to support it. And spread the good word about this (perfectly working) coin.

i dont wait any price jump before 80 - 90 bilion coin is mined
No big price jump now, only small steps up. But that is better for everybody anyway.
some big sell wall is go away, maybe that has a big jump in few days
You can go to the moon slowly, too. Big jumps are nearly always followed by strongly falling prices afterwards, and if there is no confidence to catch the coin falling, they are lower than before. Pump and dump most of the time is only good for the pump-and-dumpers. We need to make MOON a solid coin instead. Be patient and: buy Mooncoins, they are cheap now.

buy now! or you lose....

30 litoshi soooooonnnnn
moon traded only in Coinedup right ?
is there other exchanger who support it ?

https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/145

At the moment the price is 24/25 Litoshi at cryptsy, by the way. So if you have some LTC at coinedup (and MOON at cryptsy), you could do some nice arbitrage, since the price there is 19/20 ( https://coinedup.com/OrderBook?market=MOON&base=LTC ), by selling MOON on cryptsy at the high price and at the same time rebuy exactly those Mooncoins at coinedup.

We really need coinex back online  Sad. Or some other exchange adding the btc-moon pair wich I think is unlikely at the moment because of the volume / price.

Maybe we can add some extra functionality or features to the mooncoin in order to revive it?
I am no developer myself, but how about an algorithm, that scans the profitability just like multipool and keeps the difficulty just below the threshold, so that the multipools don't take over and mine it? That way loyal miners can still mine profitably (maybe not squeezing out the very last coin-profit, sure), but the big coin-hopping crowd is left out of it. I think that would be some kind of unique. MOON seems to have something already, if it constantly shows up on multipools/multiports in terms of profitability. But it could be the first coin to really overcome the burden of this latest development, which pulls each and every coin down (see DOGE) and escape the slavery of multipools. We could be at the forefront with this.

Edit: Just wanted to add, that the multipools are not bad from the ground up, but maybe they need to do something, to give back to the communities. Until then, we have to protect ourselves. On Reddit/Mooncoin someone said, coins have to cope with multipools. And when they survive this, they deserve a long life (something like that). That is basically right. So let's develop something to face the big pools.
And of course it needs to be mentioned, that multipool helped MOON out not so long ago, when we were stuck with high difficulty and unorganic pump-and-dump-price-fall (KGW not yet implemented, which now solved that problem) and the pool-operator was so kind to throw in some hashing-power for a short time to find the next blocks quickly. I assume they themselves are mad about the development at the moment, based on the massive hashing-power, bringing a lot of coins to their knees, not really knowing, what to do. So please, multipool-ops, think about some kind of solution as well. It's all some kind of symbiosis.

I like your idea, however letting something as important as difficulty up to a central authority (coinwars or an exchange) is too risky I think.

I rather thought of the coin's algorithm having implemented something to check that and adapt the difficulty accordingly to just keep below the profitability assumed by the mentioned sites. But in a way, you're right, as those sites can be manipulated too, which in turn could influence this and the dev could not react fast enough, because changing the algo and wallets takes too much time in this regard. Maybe assuming something like an average value, taken from the last days/weeks to calculate the profitability could help?
Do you have another idea?

Some big changes for Mooncoin are right around the corner! We'll just say that if you're smart, you'll hold. I can't reveal much right now, but it's coming.

I'm curious. Any timeframe for the news to be published?

Why dev dont think about to get lower   total coin number?
A high number of coins is basically not bad, because they can be spread widely, creating a broad base. That is exactly, what is happening right now. The massive amounts of coins from the first days are newly distributed, which is a little bit painful for many - especially with weak hands, because they sell too early and will bemoan their decision later on. Think of months, not days, if you're not out for a quick profit, but a solid investment. A coin with a broader base has a firmer standing, the more time is getting by. You just need to be patient.
So, keep calm and buy Mooncoins.  Cool

pretty much dev has put up a big crap on this coin and dont even care about it anymore!
1 litoshi here we come.
Just look some entries above, where he posted. Why are you posting such untruthfulness and FUD? Are you a developer or investor of another coin and fear the competition? Read and learn - or simply leave this thread and post your rubbish elsewhere. If you don't care for MOON, why are you still here? Only for trolling?
1218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: March 19, 2014, 06:30:45 PM
Long story short: an insurance company for Bitcoin-based services.

That idea is really good. You never can be 100% safe. And all the banks and other exchanges have similar insurance-institutions.

http://mooncoin.info site down?
mooncoinpool.com working correctly? After 12h mining, 0 coins.

Correct. Site is down. Supposedly it cannot cope with the inrush of download-requests. Which, basically, is a good sign.
So, you just have to wait. Be patient.

As for the pool-question: I'd recommend P2Pool, again: http://www.reddit.com/r/MoonCoin/comments/1xd1na/moon_p2pools
That way, you don't have to rely on the payout-logic of the pool-operators, since everything is handled by the P2Pool-wallet.

For those who want Erundook held accountable for various things like the loss of our coins - stop blaming other people for your own mistakes.

Erundook didn't put a gun to your head telling you to put your coins on his exchange. You did it because you wanted to turn coins in to more coins and the bottom line is that security holes can appear anywhere regardless of how much time and money is invested in it.

Look at the UK banks, in the last 2 or 3 years there have been at least 5 successful attempts and circumventing their security and they're just the ones the FSA have told us about because they affected customers directly.
We have no idea how many more of these 'hacks' have happened in the background.

Now fortunately, the FSA requires banks to reimburse customers who lose money because of something like this.

Don't expect this with Bitcoin and digital currencies.
BTC was designed to be anonymous with all transactions not required to be tied to any person.

If you're not comfortable with this and if you're not prepared to accept that all your coins are at risk at all times then digital currencies are not for you.

So it seems that digital currencies - or at least their exchanges - need to be regulated, too. Thus at least the coins, which are deposited at an exchange, are as safe as those on a conventional bank or exchange.
