421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Too many exchange apps on: October 09, 2019, 01:33:18 PM
There are plenty of exchange apps, both for Android and iOS.
At the moment I've tested 3 most common apps:
- Binance - sometimes ok, but not for the first time I somehow can't go through KYC via this app. Notifications don't work correctly, etc.
- Coinbase - was ok even with slow support, but after they increased their fees to 0.5%... Well, sorry, not going to use it.
- Changelly - it's new, I don't know if it's stable and well-working, and there are not enough reviews, but I was satisfied with the web version though

My question is: does anyone use exchange apps? If so, which ones? If not - why not? Share your experience, please.

423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on with BTC? on: October 08, 2019, 01:03:51 PM
BTC shows very strange results. Day after day i see +3 -3 rates. +300 USD then -300 USD.

What is going on? And when we will see good news?
I can only assume, but maybe this volatility's due to the fact that there are too many 'extra' people as someone noticed.
Nobody can predict the future of BTC price with enough accuracy - there are only assumptions like in that article, (or attempts to analyze which strategy of buying/selling is better - like in here) but maybe learning more theory about BTC by its past will fill some gaps.

I personally would be fine if there were a scientific point of view prevailing, but I don't think that'll happen. So my guessing is - Muslim, Catholic.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did fixed rate system ever saved your money? on: October 04, 2019, 12:20:35 PM
Here's to discuss fixed-rate and its benefits. Besides the deterring speculation, preventing depreciation of the currency and so on - did fixed exchange rate ever help you to avoid losing coins? I mean I saw an announcement about 15 mins fixed rate on changellys app, but how useful this time is? Do you pay attention to such benefits?
Interested to hear your own stories.

This feature is really only useful if you need a specific amount of coins in the first place.

For example, if you have to pay an invoice in BTC and all you've got on you is LTC which you want to exchange, and you don't want the exchange rate to be floating because you may overpay/underpay as a result.

Essentially, it's a temporary hedged position. That's all that it is.

For those who are saying that it's only useful for large transactions, I'd beg to differ. a) large traders wouldn't use Changelly or any other instant exchangers  anyhow and b) this fixed rate system benefits small scale users the same way.

Could you please explain why instant exchanges won't fit?
Other points - I see, ok.

427  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another Private Message in Telegram! on: September 30, 2019, 04:25:16 PM
Hello guys, I would like to show something that I am not sure about it. So, what I did is I take a screenshot right away to post it here and I never click anything that is shown in there. This is all about telegram, A message from someone that I don't know. Is anyone here also received this kind of message in telegram?.

Unfortunately, i'm receiving the same kind of spam every day. Though accounts are getting banned fast, I'm not really satisfied that I get these messages first.

429  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fiat-to-crypto: is it safe? on: September 28, 2019, 05:24:18 PM
Hey everyone. I'm new to crypto and I wanted to ask if there's a point of buying crypto with a credit card.
I found a lot of exchanges where users can easily (as they say) buy cryptocurrencies with their bank card. I mean, at binance they request like a lot of data about me, including my phone number or date of birth.
Aren't they selling my private info (that would explain 0,25$ fee on changelly for example), and doesn't that conflicts with the statement about my anonymity?

That would be fair for every fiat-to-crypto exchange, so my question is: do you use it and is it really safe?

There's a point if you're ok with the KYC procedure.
I'm using exchanges, but now too many of them requiring verification and tbh that annoys me.

Of course not. Imagine the size of the Universe (if possible) and ask again.
In my opinion, it's too selfish to think that the humanity is the only intelligent species.

432  Other / Off-topic / Pros and cons of KYC and the alternative logic on: September 25, 2019, 03:08:16 PM
I see a lot of negative posts about KYC procedure and how the exchanges are losing their reputation when requiring user to go through KYC (even if only suspicious transactions are obliged, like it works with coinbase, changelly or binance).
I think people are overreacting. Sorry for being Captain Obvious, but at least, you should know how the internet works before you might actually start to worry about your anonymity during the exchange procedure.
I may not understand something, but what's the difference between sending your passport photo and being registered on facebook or instagram? You'll be surprised to know how much info they have on you even if you didn't name it.
In a world of big data people are afraid of KYC, but at the same time they aren't afraid to be registered in social media or using google. I mean... Could you explain, how this logic works?
433  Other / Beginners & Help / Where were you learned about crypto? on: September 19, 2019, 11:58:14 AM
When I started my way to crypto I looked up for info by myself. It took like months, before I began to understand something more than basics. Now I'm a bit jealous for the beginners who doesn't have to look up for information in different sources - there are like dozens of blogs, videos and courses. And most of them are free.
Though, the number of them made the quality of information lower (in my opinion), and you have to filter the info you get.

Can you recommend something like coursera's or changelly's courses?
Lots of newbies will be grateful, I think.
