501  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning on phishing] Hackers are too active in these lockdown times on: May 19, 2020, 07:54:10 PM
According to report I read, tat scam even reduced in this time of pandemic, but that does not mean they have extinct, many people have even been scammed using pandemic scam methods, even, hospitals are not left out. But, just to let people know that scammers are working every time not this time alone.
502  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying btc from a forum member on: May 19, 2020, 07:50:06 PM
My best advise is that because you want to try a huge amount, you need escrow, I think there are ways you can use escrow on this forum too. Do not trust anyone, it is very good to make use of what could not make anyone go with your money. Even if the transactions is successful, just know that you as a person is not getting things in the right way and you can fall for scam even on this forum or outside. You have to follow they ways you will not be scammed, make use of escrow.
503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning] New Bluetooth Vulnerability Exposes Billions of Devices to Hackers on: May 19, 2020, 07:44:41 PM
I have never heard about this kind of attack before but if to think of it very well, bluetooth can vmbe use to connect like WiFi, so far WiFi can be insecure or compromised, bluetooth could too. We need to make sure we protect our devices that have our wallets. As for me, I will not even use the bluetooth on it to connect.
504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Bitcointalk.org on: May 19, 2020, 07:40:36 PM
Hey everyone
I'm new here, i wanna know what is Bitcointalk, how to work here, how to earn and how to withdraw our balance.
Please guide me
Thank you.

You need merits to rank up, you need to post useful contents before others give you merit. If you have 2 merit, 1 smerit will be given you which you can send to another member. And if you rank up and be a full member, you can join a signature campaign that pays you in bitcoin but there are some bounties that pay you altcoins if you are off lower rank but most are not profitable.
And, this forum is good for contributing expereince and knowledge because if you are just here for me, you will be frustrated.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to improve the usability of bitcoin? on: May 19, 2020, 07:33:13 PM
We do not have to bother about how to improve bitcoin usability, and bitcoin is the universal currency already because cryptocurrencies are easy to use and bitcoin is the first of all cryptocurrencies with 67% dominace. Even, many leaders that even some which to remain anonymous are now holding bitcoin, while some are trading it. So far bit in has grown so fast, it will still grow more even before 2030
And as now, there are more than 7000 bitcoin ATMs in the world which is increase year after year.
506  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Malware that can steal bitcoin from wallet devices and their preventions. on: May 19, 2020, 07:26:07 PM
This article is so helpful and gives more little details about malware and how dangerous they can be. There are many wallets that hackers have stolen from all because of ignorance or negligence of the people using the wallet, also do many exchenges. To broswe in a safe way and run anti malware on the devices are better. Also, cold storage wallets are very good but be it online or offline wallets someone is using, it is necessary to avoid these malware.
507  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin price history and the expected events in the coming halving on: May 19, 2020, 07:17:01 PM

Interesting perspectives and insights you guys are providing. Shocked

I am hopeful that it does happen after the halving. I am not in a rush to sell and I'm planning to buy some just before the halving. Grin

I really appreciate this.

It is good not to sell for now but as well have all seen now, it is very possible that bitcoin may fall in price but its price increasing is very certain but we need to make sure we are not affected during the price fall if possible it will occur.
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New Airdrop scam detected on: May 19, 2020, 07:10:37 PM
This is a stale scam for professionals but novice with little or no knowledge about airdrop scam can fall for this, the email could contain malware and can be used to collect personal details which can lead to other scam attacks like impersonations. We should always avoid such email scam and it is getting common in today's world.
509  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to store money in regular currency when not trading? on: May 03, 2020, 08:46:40 PM
Your choices are probably down to:

2. If you're solely planning on day trading for profit and to not hold BTC in the long term, I'd probably go with trading platforms like eToro. Unfortunately, as far as I know you can't deposit BTC. You're pretty much going to start out with your local currency, and it will be converted into USD after you deposit.

I like eToro but there are other good exchanges you can use that are more convenient, you can try Hitbtc, they have been operating since 2013, they are good exchange, binance is young but also good.
510  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: In your opinion, which coins should still exist and be in the top 10 in 3 year? on: May 03, 2020, 08:39:02 PM
You said coins that should be in the first ten in the next three years, that means we still have to name bitcoinnand ethereum.
1. The first is bitcoin because it isore adopted than others, it takes over 65% of the makketcap.
2  The second is ethereum because the implementation of the proof of stake with faster transactions will help its adoption.
3. The third will be tether because people are moving towards stable coin and tether is the most adopted.
4. The four will be ripped or litecoin. In the next bull run, if ripple really increased, it will maintain the third position. But if not there is probability that tether will overtake it including litecoin.
5. Litecoin, because of ease of transaction and faster transactions time.
511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: From year 2099 till 2140 only one bitcoin will be mined... on: May 03, 2020, 08:29:51 PM

With most transactions (and most tx fees) being forced onto second layers, it will be interesting to see how this impacts miner incentive and their desire to secure the blockchain.

My best guess is that by that time, Bitcoin will have become a minority player in the space due to its inability to evolve.

This depends on the future price of bitcoin, if the price increase and even if 100 satoshi worth a dollar, there will be nothing that will happen. Bitcoin will remain at the peak.
512  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Halvings impact on Bitcoins price e on: May 03, 2020, 08:24:48 PM
Bitcoin price can not stay at the same point, it is not possible, this time, the supply will reduce, people will still buy more bitcoin because cryptocurrencies adoption is not yet at its peak, so, over time the price will increase, miners will gain if they can hodl and wait until the price increase. But that does not mean bitcoin price will not fluctuate but miners need to be a good trader to so they will not mine bitcoin at loss.

Later, in 2013, the price futher increased to over $200 in Novermeber but fortunately bitcoin rallied to $1200 before the end of November.

What I noticed is that halving can just ba a hype, if you check the price of bitcoin very well, it did not skyrocket immediately after halving, it only increasely just little. The first halving was in November 2012 but the price increased significantly in 2013 in November. It is good to wait for the appropriate time before investing. It is good to just be an experienced trader so that you can profit from the whole price volatility.

In 2016, there is no much price trending up after halving also, I checked the coinmarketcap and I realized that the price started to increase in 2017 January till December. What you are trying to say there is that the increase can not just start like some people that do not know how this work will think, you are right.

Lastly, irrespective of bitcoin halving this time or not, the price of bitcoin will still increase and decrease, but we need the price to over long time increase so that miners are favored, if they are encouraged, they will buy more miners, the more mining hashes miners generate, the more secure bitcoin blockchain will be and not prone to 51% attack.

miners will be paid by transactions fees right?

Yes, miners will be paid only transactions fees, but at the time, bitcoin price would have increased due to no supply, this will make mining profitable.
515  Other / Meta / Re: Message for merit system on: April 24, 2020, 02:15:27 PM
You can use this [TelegramBot] Merit watcher and Mention Notification Bot
Even it's not a notified in our personal messages, but this can be used to notified if someone merited our post

This will be great.

And thank you all for reponding to my request fast, I will prefer the telegram bots.
516  Other / Meta / Message for merit system on: April 24, 2020, 02:03:22 PM
I like this forum very well, so helpful. Good to be among the members, I have experience more than before because of you people.
I just want to make a suggestion, it will make good sense if we are notified through personal messages when our posts are merited. Even, if our posts are deleted, we are notified. Notifying us about merit will be good too.
517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reasons I prefer non-custodian wallets on: April 24, 2020, 01:56:01 PM
About the anonymity, I will still agree to an extent, no verification needed for non custodian wallets unlike custodian that demand for it. But that does not mean that bitcoin transaction can not still be compromised, example is the dust attack, this can reveal a lot about bitcoin addresses or the use of malware that can hack bitcoin wallets and many more. But it is true that non custodian wallets maintain anonymity to certain level unlike custodian wallets which requires 'know your customer'.
518  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cold Storage scam on: April 21, 2020, 02:37:36 PM

Or, if you guys already ordered one of these make sure that you factory reset it first before using. I wish this reminder of mine can help  Wink

This can just be an option but not wise, there are some that can be cloned in a way that even reseting will not work. Better buy directly from the company is the best.
519  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Covid-19 a cause for BTC price drops? on: April 21, 2020, 02:27:55 PM
During the virus, bitcoin has also risen in price, so I do not see any effect again. What you are saying now is what we do not want to hear. I will advise you to buy bitcoin now, the price will increase over a long period of timw after halving.
520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question about bitcoin core fee on: April 17, 2020, 06:46:03 PM
In bitcoin core the default transaction fee is 0.0002 BTC/kB

I see that I can change that number. What stops me from doing it 0.00000001? Does it affect my transaction? Beginner here.

You transaction will be trapped in the mempool. All transactions will first queue in the mempool where miners will first pick out the the ones with high fee. So, the higher the fee the faster the clearance or transactions time, so, the fee recommended is good for faster transactions. But, if you do not want the bitcoin in short time, you can reduce the fee but reducing it to 0.00000001 btc is too far low, the btc sent will be trapped in the mempool in which no miner will clear your transaction.
