521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The best stories about your crypto experience on: April 14, 2020, 11:05:41 AM
I was introduced to cryptocurrencies by a friend and I liked bitcoin. It is the safest, steongest and can not be susceptible to 51% attack because of the high hash rates generated by the miners. I downloaded electrum wallet and very helpful for me.

There was a time I was just scammed when I bought a shit coin, over 90% of the investment capital were gone and I noticed that the lesser a coin is ranked the high its volatility. So, I liked bitcoin more for this because it is not volatile like other coins but that does not mean it is not volatile at all.

I later know about crypto scam and how to avoid it and here I am today. I do not have the mentality that cryptocurrencies are scam again when I know about it very well.
522  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scams revealed on: April 14, 2020, 10:47:53 AM
There are still many ways to scam but all are included here on this thread, nice one. The very one I was scammed with was when I bought a shit coin that made me lose 90% of the initial capital. This type of shit coins are common on exchanges that are not well regulated.
523  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: This seems fake to me- Bitcoin Trader on: April 14, 2020, 10:25:27 AM
The site is legit but if used can lead to loss of the coin you used to trade, they make use of robots to trade for you and you can trade yourself. But I am very sure that the way they posed themselves will want people to use them to trade with the help of their boys and I am sure that if someone knows nothing about trading, he will lose coins to this site.
524  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallets, types, security and safety on: April 14, 2020, 10:17:18 AM
There has been no demonstrated successful physical attack against Ledger products, but that is not to say one doesn't exist. With an electron microscope and enough time and expertise, then it is like that even the secure element will be crackable and the seed able to be extracted, but we are now probably talking about in the order of weeks at a cost of several hundred thousand dollars. This differs obviously from Trezor wallets which can have the seed extracted for less than a hundred dollars in the space of a few minutes. Any hardware wallet shouldn't be viewed as infallible, but rather as a mechanism to buy you (hopefully plenty of) time to move your coins to new addresses.

That is why I prefer the ledger nano products, although I prefer two, he ledger nano x and s. Trezor is good too but I have read about some people saying cloning trezor is more common than cloning ledger nano.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Countdown 2020 live stream on: April 13, 2020, 09:49:07 PM
This is great but my focus is more on how bitcoin will increase price before the halving. I expect whales and investors to have started buying bitcoin now.
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Type of wallets and questions on: April 13, 2020, 12:59:10 PM

Personally, I use paper wallets, hardware wallets (only Ledger devices now since the multiple major flaws reported in Trezor devices

This is right, especially in the Trezor Model T. I have read a lot of articles that depicted the hardware not really secure like the ledger nano x. The cost is too much, about $160, unlike the ledger nano x that is $116 that I can easily use with my mobile phones using bluetooth. It makes hardware wallet simple to use like mobile wallet and support many cryptocurrencies.
527  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchanges. How do they work on: April 13, 2020, 12:34:57 PM
Exchange is a platform to buy or sell crypto. There are many exchange already in the market. But which will be successful no one knows. You should be careful to invest in exchange, trade sites. I don't think we need more exchange. Many are failed project. Many have strict rules and regulations. They charge high fees for withdraw. Many exchange don't support promising cryptocurrencies pairs. Many are working hard to bring mobile app based exchange where people will purchase products and services with exchangeable local currency in a few seconds.

You are right about exchanges, new exchanges are not worth it to trade, olds ones like binance and coknbase are the best. But, that aside, it is also should be known that exchanges are vulnerable to hack than wallets, so, the amount that should be there shiuld not exceed certain little amount.
528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why reward halving instead of doubling? on: April 13, 2020, 12:19:05 PM
I can say Satoshi can not be just only one person, he created bitcoin in a way that it will be limited, scare and reducing in supply. These are what keeps bitcoin growing. Otherwise, bitcoin will be nothing.
529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to secure crypto wallets on: April 02, 2020, 01:31:27 PM
I like this great article, it is really helpful and informative. But about the wallet, I will advise people to only use non-custoduan wallet like trezor, ledger nano, keepkey, electrum, exodus, mycelium and conomi. There are other trust worthy non-custodian wallets. You have your private key and seed phrase. They are the best.
530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you find out about Bitcointalk? on: April 02, 2020, 01:21:52 PM
I was introduced to bitcoin by a scammer. I was using my Facebook messenger one day and I saw a message from unknown person. He posed like a female and we chatted. She asked me to send her money the second day of chatting and I knew she was a scammer. She told me to send her google gift card later or send her bitcoin to an anonumous address when I do not send the money, nut still, I did not. But, during the time, I found out about bitcoin. I love bitcoin and a week after, I found out about bitcointalk on google too. I later joined the forum lately and I have gained knowledge from bitcointalk forum.

First, your OP format is broken, that causes nearly the whole content highlighted in Blue, that is annoying.

Second, if you need a good source (in particular a topic on the forum) on bitcoin forks. Here you go: How Many Bitcoin Forks Are There? You will be surprised!!!
It is available and you can simply find it by using the Search tool of the forum (look at the left corner on the top).

The link you sent was educative but I am still new to this forum. Secondly, newbies are not allowed to post diagrams and this is a restriction. It would have been better to post diagrams and add links to the pictures you post.

Bitcoin forks are changes in a set of rules or protocols in bitcoin blockchain. Originally, bitcoin was created and has the main blockchain but due to certain reasons another blockchain was created. Example of the blockchain created was the bitcoin cash blochain and this led to the creation of bitcoin cash. What cause the creation of bitcoin cash was the argument that occurred to increase bitcoin block size so that transactions can be fast. But later, they came to the conclusion of creating another another cryptocurrency in which transactions speed will be increased.

Bitcoin cash blockchain is the example of the hard fork, in which another cryptocurrency is created to improve scalabily. It was the first most successful bitcoin fork.

Fork of forks
Example of those category is bitcoin sv and bitcoin abc. They were actually created from bitcoin cash. That is why they are regardless as for of forks.

Bitcoin have many other forks which I am not talking about today. Example is the litecoin. It is forked from bitcoin, this is another type of fork that lead to the generation of another cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin coin, this is another type of crypto fork. There are more examples, doge and zCash are a good typical example of cryptocurrencies that was forked from bitcoin blockchain directly.

Why bitcoin hard forks
With bitcoin hard fork, a new protocol or rule is generated. In the past, bitcoin users and investors were increasing even up till to day, the transactions time decreased significantly, in a way that many transactions were trapped in bitcoin mempool. So, this created arguments amoung bitcoin community. Some want the block size to increase which will lead to increase transaction time and reduce mining fee. So mimers can not agree, even this is the way that can solve the scalability issue. So, this lead to the generation of another blockchain which lead to the generation of another cryptocurrencies.]Forks of bitcoin that led to the generation of bitcoin-like cryptocurrencies.

538  Other / Beginners & Help / Don't know what to do on: March 20, 2020, 11:51:59 AM
My regards to admin, staffs, legendaries and other members of this forum.

First, I am so glad to join this forum. I have been hearing about it for weeks, all I heard about it seem to be true. All posts I have read so far are of best quality. So, this is a challenge for me but I will try my best to make the forum have more quality by creating quality posts because quality posts makes the forum quality.

Truth be told, I am here for money but to get money in life is not easy. So, I know already that to get money here is not easy, it requires three things that my parents always told me since I was young. It requires
Diligence
Patience
Opportunity

So, with these, I have to work hard on the forum, later I will graduate to legendary. If legendary is the highest rank as I think.

As you now know, I am new here. Please, I need some clue to what are still not clear to me about the forum.
With what I have noticed, I need merit to rank up on the forum.
Who are merit senders?
How can I get merit?
What to do to make my posts attractive on the forum?
If your post is of high quality but not merited. What should I do?

I am waiting for response, and thank you in advance.
Ones again, I am so glad to be here with you people.
