121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Old GPU the best for free electricity? on: October 02, 2021, 07:11:34 AM
Free electricity? Get used GPUs instead as there is no reason to buy brand new GPU for mining, go for 1060 and Rx Vega 56/64 GPUs there are many for sales of them on Craigslist and from Alibaba website, you can even buy few old ASIC miners like T2
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Finally starting my IDO journey on: October 01, 2021, 11:33:25 AM
Polkastarter is a reliable platform for raising funds for new projects just like ICO back in the days but polkastarter has a better and strict rules for the projects, if a new project have to use this platform to raise money they have to fully agree with polkastarter rules and regulations, so far I haven't seen a bad comments about this one, go for it.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How I almost died building crypto mines. on: October 01, 2021, 08:21:26 AM
Warning, the video includes some pretty gnarly images of burns I received in an accident with my Crypto mine. If you are squeamish, please don't watch.

Building a mining rig and killing a GPU in the process is different from toying ( thinking you know) with electricity where a simple mistake can cost you your life, don't take such risks it's not worth it

125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any good bang for your buck cards for ether mining? on: September 19, 2021, 06:30:51 AM
Hey guys!

Im looking for suggestions for cards that are good for their price for mining ETH. Im looking for good price to output efficiency so that I can invest some of my money into a rig and crank some coins while im at school, suggestions?

rtx 3060 ti for sure, if you can find one on this very moment  Grin, or buying defect rtx 3060 laptop, is good deal

or used gpus when you can get cheap anyway, rx vega 56 maybe cheap at some point, that gpu bad on gaming and cannot use ray tracing feature on newer game

How is Vega 56 bad for gaming? Yes it doesn't support ray tracing but it's damn good for gaming than rx580, I have these cards and I've used them to run few new and old games on PC
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wich ASIC did you choose to mine NOW? on: September 19, 2021, 06:23:20 AM
thank you for your help

Do not buy ASICs for Ethereum mining, because Ethereum mining will end soon.

some people says ethereum always says the same. A promise that next ethereum be 99% less expensive in electricity. Did you think is true?
I think Ethereum will switch to the PIC algorithm in the next 6 months.
Therefore, I suggested that you consider a universal option - a video card. Video cards will still be valid for many years, and in 1 year you can recoup about 50% of the investment or more.
Despite the fact that the ASIC is easier to maintain, but the video cards have a 3-year warranty.

PIC algo? Is that a typo? Haven't heard of it. Did you mean POS. Because a few years back they were suppose to switch to ProgPOW and basically after months and months of debate and going back and forth. And after hundreds of thousands of dollars wasted on coding, developement, testing and audits. They didn't go along with it.

I dont' think they will switch to any algo. They were going to switch and many of the ETH maxis got upset that they devoted time and money on switching the algo when they should of just moved to POS. Their reasoning was that ASICs weren't a threat for a 51% attack and they left it at that. SO unless there is some fast ASIC that comes out, they wont switch the algos.
Thank you, I fixed the error.
I think that buying a newbie Bitmain Antminer L7 9500 MH / s is not worth it. The breakdown of such an ASIC will lead to large losses.
Therefore, I prefer video cards for $ 500-1500.

Well i have around 100 gpus and consider them to be,something a miner should have.

as to L7 it has a big upside and a big down side.

so taking a flyer on one is not that bad.

a few good sha units like the s19pro

seems okay.
If one have to buy ASIC miners for mining it should be the cheap ones not the latest ASIC like a10pro innosilicon, you have to think about it's advantages and it's disadvantages as well, I can buy used S19 and feel relaxed simply because of its price but not a10pro that costs thousands of dollars but still GPUs wins cos they are easier to replace or fix
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Modified GPU BIOS for Mining on: September 18, 2021, 06:52:44 AM
There is no use modding bios for few hashrates more because using HiveOS will give you the best settings for the card no matter how stubborn it may seems, I used to have a Micron memory Rx 580 GPU that always gives me 27Mh per second no matter what I tried but on hiveOS using lowest mV as possible I achieved achieved 32MH with ease
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GeForce GT 1030 OC Edition 2 GB questions on: September 18, 2021, 06:45:56 AM
Mine Firo coin this will net you 23$ per month and you don't have to worry about low DAG size, the DAG is still very low too, 2GB mem GPUs are good for new altcoins, you can also try Ergo (Autolykos2)
129  Economy / Exchanges / Re: He who have ears let him hear on: September 16, 2021, 08:39:45 AM
Ideally, transactions should be P2P to avoid third parties.
Peer to peer marketplaces are third parties that provide Escrow services for safety of both buyers and sellers.
You are right that Dex are the perfect place to trade coins without leaving behind any trace but not all fraudsters knew this, if one has nothing to hide anyways there isn't any reason to hide how you transact crypto
130  Economy / Exchanges / Re: He who have ears let him hear on: September 16, 2021, 05:56:18 AM
Well, this is risky as hell to get yourself in trouble but when you don’t have a lot of ways, what can you do? Maybe the buyer didn’t want to go through the hassle it had to take for depositing money into the exchange and avoid withdrawal fee. Or what about the buyer wanted to buy BTC without any info shared with CEX? There can be a lot of alternatives why anyone would avoid buying BTC from exchanges.
This is exactly the reason we should be more cautious; ensure more privacy. You have coin mixer for that to leave trace. Wondering why didn’t the scammer do that LOL.
This is not a good excuse for the seller, how much can an exchange charge for withdrawal? Roughly 1$ to 5$ for converting to Fiat, I think the seller knew that he can be caught if he used exchange because of KYC verification, he intentionally sell it locally
131  Economy / Exchanges / He who have ears let him hear on: September 15, 2021, 05:16:55 PM
Stop buying BTC from random people, we got centralised and decentralized exchanges for this, the reason why I'm saying this is because someone bought BTC from a scammer in my country and the scammer was apprehended somehow and the BTC he sold to this person was scammed from one Jonathan in the U.S, the buyer was arrested as well thinking they are in this together, it takes weeks before more proves where gathered to prove that the buyer don't know anything about it.

Instead direct your friends to binance or other exchanges to buy coins cos you don't know what your friends are doing behind the close door.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Background GPU minig system on: September 15, 2021, 03:12:19 PM
Stealth miners are for fraudsters honestly, if you are a real person you will build a rig for mining and buy a laptop for gaming only or even build a gaming desktop, why would you want to run miners in background? They can even be malicious to your PC health, meaning doing some disastrous things behind without you knowing
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Masternode and PoW mining on: September 14, 2021, 05:45:18 PM
If masternode are better than mining many would have build rigs for masternode purposes only, masternode is not ROI friendly and its more risky because you need a certain amount to run them and also volatility affects them much more
134  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs. Bitcoin on: September 14, 2021, 11:06:34 AM
Real estate returns is like that of stock market, it's slow and it takes time probably years that's why crypto stands out among the rest, crypto investment brings the fastest ROI and also it's the most risky I believe but people don't care much about the risk side cos crypto have favoured too many, real estate and stock are good places to invest your money but crypto is undeniable
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie miner needs help on: September 12, 2021, 07:38:26 AM
I prefer open case for mining because they gets enough air flow more than closed cases, the only thing that makes closed cases works is the fans that send out the heats from the case, also open cases are more cheaper than closed cases, pretty good for newbies like you
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are these 120v rigs? on: September 12, 2021, 07:34:01 AM
Honestly few ASIC miners are better than GPUs but the problem is if a ASIC miner gets ruined by high current or faulty it's over, even right now in China you can't send back faulty GPUs to the country, it will be seized by their customs
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sorting for GPUs on: September 11, 2021, 03:05:34 PM
We grabbed 17 of these

 https://www.cdw.com/product/NVIDIA-RTX-A4000-graphics-card-RTX-A4000-16-GB/6505103?

they had 65 in stock and next day gone.

these are like the 3070ti except they are not nerfed

63-65 mh at 120 watts.

here is a youtube on it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCBKau5xK00

This was the first stock price we found in months.

the

rtx a2000 $500-550.     does  38
rtx a4000 $1050-1100. does  63
rtx a5000 $2300-2450. does 106
rtx a6000 $ 4500-5000 does 150 not sure if true

are all good for mining but they sold out like boom.
Damn I don't know about these cards until now, I was finding ways to buy gtx1660 super under 500$ but no luck, if this a2000 can do 38MH for 500$ well it's definitely a good buy honestly, hope the card doesn't cheat on memory type, like some performs well on Samsung memory while some performs worse on hynix? It's such fate when buying Rx Vega 56 hynix card you will definitely be disappointed
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What do you guys think on: September 11, 2021, 09:34:31 AM
I fellas I have two questions to ask crypto experts and investors in this forum today

1. Is this a good time to build crypto portfolio?
2. Do you really think that bear market will be a dipping as 2018?

Now that crypto is gaining more investors day by day and crypto adoption is increasing massively I don't think that the next bear market will be crazily low like 2018/2019, what do you think?
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Chia farming and renting servers on: September 10, 2021, 07:14:58 AM
If I have to rent any server power or hash power it will be on ETH or BTC mining probably through Nicehash platforms not for chia because chia is less profitable for some weeks now, a 100TB will give you 120-125$ per month, do the math
140  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [List] Some ways to identify scam projects on: September 10, 2021, 06:27:53 AM
I've seen few projects became successful with anonymous teams and they are mostly privacy coins but yes OP is right that it can be a signal for scam projects, the most effective trick for scammers is luring people with attractive offers, when an offer is too good to be true don't think twice about it
