81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / This December is a weird one on: December 06, 2021, 10:52:48 AM
Is this December actually playing out like the past December? Cos right now it looks like this December is a black one lol 😂 things are going side ways and all those crypto chillers on YouTube aren't even catching the trend of what's going on, so what's your own opinions?
82  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we in a bear trap? on: December 04, 2021, 10:04:56 AM
At this day, bitcoin is $56k and there is a prediction that it will reach $100k this month of December. If that so, then it is still good to buy at the current price of bitcoin but everything in crypto has no guaranty that it will really happen because it's just a prediction. Despite of that, it's better to hold and wait if what well gonna happen in the future.

This dump is not just bitcoin alone or should I say crypto, it's a general thing across the globe due to Omicron variant type of virus that has been rampant in South Africa and USA.
Corona affect us all and gladly, it was a miracle that changes the live of many who were diamond hands and never sold, if we can sustain that sell pressure and bounce back smoothly, there is no point in been in panick this time around, bitcoin and market will always bounce back.
Is there any proof to show that Omicron already finds it way into USA? Cos all the news I've been hearing about this virus is in Africa, also I don't think this is why the market is down presently, there will be more crypto bans but best advice is to buy the dips, even el Salvador bought 150 BTC in this dip today
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Staking a better option over mining? on: December 04, 2021, 09:48:06 AM
It's better to do both if you have the money, this way you will be able to know which one is better, I've done both and I can say that mining is better option because

1. You are in control of your machine and money
2. You can switch from one coin to another if profitability is lower
3. Profitability wise mining is more profitable
4. To make reasonable money from staking it requires higher amount of money, you can build rig and make money cheaper than staking
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your luck rate with CMC airdrops on: December 04, 2021, 09:32:20 AM
Low allocation max participants, very good coinmarketcap very good, this way the project will have uncountable posts on Twitter and Facebook, oh those poor souls hoping that they will win lol, why can't they just request for limited participants since the allocation is small?
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT is an curiously space on: December 03, 2021, 05:09:03 PM
It's crazy how people are investing money on NFTs and later selling for huge amount of money, I'm starting to think that NFTs can be used by drug lords and criminals just to secure funds, am I the only one thinking this way? Cos honestly not all NFTs are that good, most of them have no good use than been just NFT
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I made the right decision in November on: December 03, 2021, 01:31:44 PM
Early last month I created a topic about me selling some of my GPUs fir altcoins, the link to the old topic is here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5369963.msg58385787#msg58385787
And today I will like to drop an update on what's happening, I made the right decision people, now I can afford more GPUs and Motherboards once this bull season is over, thanks to Gala, Sand, MoBOx, dogedash and few others, I'm not here to confuse miners though but if you are new and looking forward to build mining rigs first invest that money on good coins because

1. We are still in bull market
2. Graphics cards are still too high in price
3. Altcoins brings more profits in short term Vs mining

The choice is still yours though, just make sure you do your own research

so .... the bull season is over or not ?   Grin Grin Grin
Every charts says otherwise, bull market is still present but if things are going to go sideways you will not see it coming, anyways we have web3.0 and metaverse that's still making things worth investing money on, just make sure you take profits here and there
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mininig with Air Conditioner ??? on: December 03, 2021, 09:54:30 AM
I have 4 pcs mining rigs. Each of them has 12 GPUs RX570 4GB.
Total 48 GPU. I want to use air conditioner for cooling.
What should I do ? is it safe to use air conditioner ?

cold air and hot air in the same room is a problem ?
I dont care about the profitibality I just want to know is there any problem if i use air conditioner ?
The cold air dircetly to the rigs or somewhere else direction ?

if there is anyone use air conditioner, please help me. I want to be set up a proffessional system.
7kw air conditioner is enough ?

most of us like to vent the hot air out of the room.

7kw air conditioner is not what I need to know

how many btu does it do?

you have 48 card that can pull 150 watts each that is 7200 watts 1 watt of heat is about 4 btu

so you produce about 28,000 to 30,000 btu.

you ac would need to cool more then 35,000 btu.

I would also like to mention you won't be able to use your 48 cards past nov or dec of this year. They won't work on eth or other algos.

read this thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5265702.0

it will help you to understand all those cards will become useless for mining very soon.
Philipma1957 I believe that more new coins are coming into crypto as we speak so they will have less DAG requirements? What about Ethereum Classic mining algorithm? When it was upgraded even 3gb GPUs can mine them, rx580s are 4gb I'm sure they will have some usefulness
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What promising tokens should you buy in 2022? on: December 02, 2021, 04:49:20 PM
Stay away from NFTs because they are ranking like useless assets presently, the problem is most NFTs have no real use than been an NFT, if NFT is your thing make sure you go for NFTs that can be used as in game utilities, I'm all bullish on metaverse projects instead.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you invest in new projects? on: December 02, 2021, 11:45:30 AM
It depends on the projects utilities and team, first it's true that a new project is way more risky than projects that have been around for 6 months already but the best way of making more money is joining in a week old project, all you have to do is good research and also make sure the team are 100% doxxed, the last is only invest what you can afford to lose
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need info about rtx a4000 on: December 02, 2021, 09:03:47 AM
A4000 and A5000 all the way, they erase the issue of mistakenly buying LHR 3080 and 3090 and of cos the 3060ti too but right now isn't the time to buy new GPUs, this is the time to start rounding up for the next bear market, I'm guessing this will happen in February 2022
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will be the Fate of miners in 2022 on: December 02, 2021, 08:52:27 AM
Bear market is coming that's for sure, my advice is we should stop buying GPUs for now and focus more on altcoins, when bear market comes GPUs will be less costly and that's the perfect time to start buying GPUs again, 2022 will still be a good year to continue mining coins if you already have your GPUs mining, don't buy GPUs at high price right now and you will be fine
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another Ethereum killer? The next Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2021, 10:53:45 AM
Flipping is one thing and taking over is another, solana can flip ETH at some point but won't be the same for long, I've been in this space for years and I've seen some new projects doing so well in few years of launch, they took over top ten altcoins but after a while they lost the position, some even go down to under top 300, solana is good to say the truth but Ethereum will remain the favourite

94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Price increase = scam increase - BE CAREFUL, friends on: October 20, 2021, 05:42:49 PM
Yes we know, now that NFT are trending so hot I've come across many fake NFT projects introducing their airdrops through platform like airdrop ninja, also I've seen some meme coins that are copy cats of shiba and few legit ones, I pity newbies the most cos some of them find it very hard to do research
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Usb sticks don't last long for mining? on: October 20, 2021, 05:36:16 PM
Right, keep killing your usb over and over, those who are complaining about death of usb in a very short time are those that failed to deactivate log, this was supposed to reduce stress on the usb drive that's why hiveOS Dev said users must deactivate log
96  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I grow my Crypto Bag without trading on: October 19, 2021, 07:24:51 PM
Get a job secured and invest 20$ in BTC every day or week depending on your payouts, go for the one that's more convenient for you and see how big your portfolio will become in a year straight
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How good is the pcie extender on: October 19, 2021, 07:12:33 PM
This depends entirely on your motherboard, for some they can only run two GPUs on a single pcie splitter and some can run 4 GPUs on them with no issues at all buh the splitter do works very well
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Solar mining in bear market is breezy on: October 18, 2021, 05:23:48 PM
Lol don't be shocked if this bull market grows beyond your expectation but anyways bear market will happen for sure at one certain point in time, just have patient the time will definitely come
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BSV officially dead? Finally confirmed by the BSV account :) on: October 18, 2021, 04:56:38 PM
Hmm I've seen too many wonders in crypto space already and I don't have the energy to call any coin or token a shitcoin, if Dogecoin hasn't thought anyone a lesson them it's none of my business, a failed project failed it is and a project that still hangs around can end up shinning a bright light in future, bitcoin ABC rebranded to eCash XEC too, just saying anything is possible
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying Mobo with extra slots isn't a waste of money on: October 16, 2021, 09:13:31 PM
Buying 6x pcie slots mobo is like a waste of money to me, I thought I would stop upgrading my rig when I have 6 graphic cards running but now I have enough money to add more cards, what comes to my mind is

1. What have I done? Why buy mobo with 6pcie slots when I can afford 12x pcie slot mobo in the first place?

2. Why buy 750watt power supply when I can afford 1200+ power supply?

Now I have to buy another MOBO which will result in more money and more electricity consumption too, if you are new to mining always go for the best components just in case, there is a chance of upgrading in future
A modern motherboard with a processor consumes 40-60 watts, and you will not save much money if you buy 1 motherboard for 12 video cards instead of 2 motherboards for 6 video cards.
Further, there are many nuances about power supplies. Even on an ATX 1200 watt power supply unit, there may not be enough key connectors to connect 6 powerful video cards, so you have to use 2 850 watt power supplies or a server power supply unit.
It's harder to find a buggy graphics card on a farm of 12 graphics cards instead of 6.
Easy, your power supply doesn't have to get all the pcie 8pin and 6pin out of the box, OP will need to get 6pin to 2x 8pin extension cable on Amazon or other stores for cheap price, this will turn a single 6pin power connector to 2x 8pin power connector and it works well
