321  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How are you guys representing 256-bit ints in C/C++? on: November 18, 2022, 11:21:05 AM
Guys from bitcoin are moving (slowly) into 64bit implementation and it requires existence of uint128_t. At the end it seems they decided not to rely on native solution but to implement it manually: https://github.com/bitcoin-core/secp256k1/commit/2914bccbc0913806ee64425a27d38cdc27b288e8 (+next)

Maybe it would be the way or you may reuse it to write your own type.

Ciekawy opis bałaganu z FTX na bankierze:
https://www.bankier.pl/wiadomosc/Upadek-kryptogieldy-Nigdy-nie-widzialem-takiej-porazki-mowi-nowy-szef-FTX-Wczesniej-kontrolowal-upadek-Enronu-8441603.html

323  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poker tournaments why tournaments in other games on: November 18, 2022, 09:47:02 AM
Apart from Betplay which has some freeroll if we gamble $30 before the tournament, I'll try this on Sunday, if I don't forget about it. Last Sunday I forgot about it and I missed a game.

Could you write more about that? Is it like $30 every week before Sunday's tournament? Or you just need to spend $30 once and it gives you access to freerolls?
What is the table size, 6?

When did that happen ? I never knew about it actually. Can you pass the info where its mentioned about decreasing the bonus.
I generally spin my WoF spins collectively at the weekend. So have to see what difference it makes when compared to spinning WoF daily.

Bonus (%) is decreased after each roll, I do not think it depends on time/number of executed rolls, so even if you launch one roll you will see the difference. Easy to check if you did not execute your daily email roll or if you have some premium WOFs pending.

Personally I would prefer to bet on final winner, I hope they will add it soon.
Is it possible for Freebitcoin to hold this bet? I also think about choosing this instead of betting on every match, maybe in addition to betting on every match, Freebitcoin can also provide this, and because the journey for this event is still long, maybe we will see it in the middle tournament.

So there are two of us. Maybe they will see demand and add that option. The only chance is TheQuin will take it into account Wink I think they may add option to bet on every team and close it just before -let's say- semifinals.
Even if we want to bet on single match, we have limited options.

While France is the big favorite in its game vs Australia, there is no such thing as free money and thinking that is a 100% winning bet. Surprises always happen at world cups and not saying that Australia will win, but always be cautious also.
this is the world cup which is held 4 years so it's not as easy as how to play in the league, everyone will work hard for that struggle because it brings the name of the country too, look at the previous lesson where south korea beat germany, so nothing is impossible in this world cup because all deserves to win, so of course betting on the world cup is very difficult to guess

I think group phase (at least the first 2 games) are quite predictable, maybe the last round may be surprising - there will be teams for which tournament is over etc, so we may expect that some teams will not play at 100%. But then yes, we may have some surprising results.
I only do not know why we cannot have all the games and only a selection - 9 games only? As I see most of them has a clear favorite, only USA-Wales has almost equal 1/3 odds for each option.

How Did George Soros Break the Bank of England?

A drugie, to cytat z filmu VaBank: https://youtu.be/ieOH0FA1eow?t=6002

Yes, the problem is to find the balance between "sure bet" and "high odds". Similar situation we had many times with F1.
Now, we may take for example England (1.26) - Iran (12.04). And 4.55 for draw. I do not think 1.2 is worth risk.

as usual I always use the results of free rolls every hour and WOF by multiplying into sports betting, so I can withdraw BTC every week and even then if there is a match that is easy to play, especially soon the world cup match will start, it will be easy to win in bets

Like France-Australia?  Cheesy

Any bets you want to recommend? I am surprised (not much, just a little) that there are already quite big amounts wagered; and we are still some days to the games.

Personally I would prefer to bet on final winner, I hope they will add it soon.

premium users might get more than 1 WOF every day, but free users only get 1x WOF rounds every day so it's free and it won't take time to claim it for free spins, whatever you get as long as it's free just enjoy it, there's a time when people people will get big rewards as long as they are active users of freebitcoin

Do not forget that collecting and executing a big amount of WOFs decreases your bonus, so sometimes it may make sense to balance it - have time for wagering (and increasing bonus) and then execute collected WOFs at once. Of course daily single WOF decrease bonus as well...

Bet on FIFA World Cup Matches!

We're covering the FIFA World Cup at FreeBitco.in, and you can WIN BIG with your predictions!

Now we are talking!
Not many games are available so far (9) but it is better than nothing.

Why not to add additional option to bet on final winner?
334  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: November 15, 2022, 10:26:16 AM
It's been 2 days I claim daily WOF in email and I try to claim but the captcha image doesn't appear just loading, why not use captcha from google.com and why use captcha from hcaptcha.com, because of that I have to use a private browser to claim

Does this problem occur when you are logged in to freebitco in that browser? Could be something related to that, as captcha is not displayed (required) when your session is active. In private window you are for sure not logged in, that's why it works.
335  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Kangaroo vs. keyhunt BSGS on: November 15, 2022, 10:23:50 AM
However, the main difference is that if the BSGS did not find the key and finished work, then you can be sure that the key is not in the given interval. Kangaroo is a probabilistic algorithm, and you cannot be sure that there is no key in interval, even if the kangaroo has completed the estimated number of operations.

That's true, but:
1) I would rather say the biggest difference is in resources needed, as BSGS requires much more memory
2) Kangaroo is "probabilistic", but with a big enough amount of work done, the chances for a final result are very close to 100%. That's well described on JLP program's page.
336  Economy / Gambling / Re: Black Friday fever: do you wait for extra bonuses from casinos? on: November 14, 2022, 05:37:28 PM
Black Friday is observed worldwide and hence we cannot say that discounts are only available in US-based casinos. I think that casinos may offer discounts or may not offer discounts but this decision is not dependent upon the location. Some casinos may not leave any opportunity to give their customers bonuses & benefits and therefore they will give a lot of bonuses on this black Friday. If any casino is giving a huge bonus and is a trusted casino, only then you may try it.

I do not expect casinos to give any discounts, at the end all is just a business and any reason would be good to attract more players to spend their money Wink
I think what we may expect are promotions where you must wager some amount to get bonus or anything like that - for sure player's input is the most important. Nothing is for free.
337  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Possible seeds for Bitcoin Core on: November 13, 2022, 04:46:04 PM
No, the seed is not a public key. It is 32 bytes of random data. Bitcoin Core's (legacy) wallet stores this as a private key because it is convenient. Neither the compressedness nor the public key are used when computing the master private key, only the 32 bytes of random "private key" data is used.

How then you explain to me that new seed (line 518 https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/7921026a24594765f603d14ef87ff4e4541d2b76/src/wallet/rpc/wallet.cpp)
Code:
 master_pub_key = spk_man.DeriveNewSeed(key);

is generated as:
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/ae6bb6e71e3082dd783e78c52b3af649fd5256cc/src/wallet/scriptpubkeyman.cpp

Quote
CPubKey LegacyScriptPubKeyMan::DeriveNewSeed(const CKey& key)
{
    int64_t nCreationTime = GetTime();
    CKeyMetadata metadata(nCreationTime);

    // calculate the seed
    CPubKey seed = key.GetPubKey();
    assert(key.VerifyPubKey(seed));

    // set the hd keypath to "s" -> Seed, refers the seed to itself
    metadata.hdKeypath     = "s";
    metadata.has_key_origin = false;
    metadata.hd_seed_id = seed.GetID();

    {
        LOCK(cs_KeyStore);

        // mem store the metadata
        mapKeyMetadata[seed.GetID()] = metadata;

        // write the key&metadata to the database
        if (!AddKeyPubKey(key, seed))
            throw std::runtime_error(std::string(__func__) + ": AddKeyPubKey failed");
    }

    return seed;
}
338  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Possible seeds for Bitcoin Core on: November 13, 2022, 10:12:29 AM
Hello

Recently I wanted to check how Bitcoin Core derivation path (BIP32) is different from other wallets (BIP39). I was also interested how to generate master private key. Reading bip32 specification (https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0032.mediawiki#Specification_Key_derivation) we may find that master private key is clearly dependent on seed only, but the question is - what is seed?
Then I found the operations performed by method "sethdseed" (seed for HD wallet may be generated by program or may be 'injected' by user). (https://github.com/bitcoin-dot-org/developer.bitcoin.org/blob/master/reference/rpc/sethdseed.rst)
 And in fact I was very surprised to see that seed is nothing else that public key of (random/specified) private key:
Code:
CPubKey LegacyScriptPubKeyMan::GenerateNewSeed()
{
    assert(!m_storage.IsWalletFlagSet(WALLET_FLAG_DISABLE_PRIVATE_KEYS));
    CKey key;
    key.MakeNewKey(true);
    return DeriveNewSeed(key);
}
Code:
CPubKey LegacyScriptPubKeyMan::DeriveNewSeed(const CKey& key)
{
    int64_t nCreationTime = GetTime();
    CKeyMetadata metadata(nCreationTime);

    // calculate the seed
    CPubKey seed = key.GetPubKey();
    assert(key.VerifyPubKey(seed));
....

As we see, when seed is generated by program, a random private key (compressed) is created, so I assume public key used as a seed has form "02/03 + X". I do not know how it is when user provide uncompressed WIF to sethdseed command, but then HD seed would be "04 + X + Y".

My concern is: let's say seed is generated by program based on compressed key - does it mean that each Bitcoin Core HD wallet could be derived from a ECDSA256K1 public keys?

In other words, may we say that each seed has form 02/03+X? There is no HD wallet which seed is "12345abcabc"?

340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / James Zhong pled guilty to unlawfully obtaining Bitcoin from the Silk Road on: November 12, 2022, 05:38:44 PM
On November 9, 2021, pursuant to a judicially authorized premises search warrant of Zhong’s Gainesville, Georgia, house, law enforcement seized approximately 50,676.17851897 Bitcoin, then valued at over $3.36 billion.
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said: “James Zhong committed wire fraud over a decade ago when he stole approximately 50,000 Bitcoin from Silk Road.  For almost ten years, the whereabouts of this massive chunk of missing Bitcoin had ballooned into an over $3.3 billion mystery.  Thanks to state-of-the-art cryptocurrency tracing and good old-fashioned police work, law enforcement located and recovered this impressive cache of crime proceeds.  This case shows that we won’t stop following the money, no matter how expertly hidden, even to a circuit board in the bottom of a popcorn tin.”
In September 2012, ZHONG executed a scheme to defraud Silk Road of its money and property by (a) creating a string of approximately nine Silk Road accounts (the “Fraud Accounts”) in a manner designed to conceal his identity; (b) triggering over 140 transactions in rapid succession in order to trick Silk Road’s withdrawal-processing system into releasing approximately 50,000 Bitcoin from its Bitcoin-based payment system into ZHONG’s accounts; and (c) transferring this Bitcoin into a variety of separate addresses also under ZHONG’s control, all in a manner designed to prevent detection, conceal his identity and ownership, and obfuscate the Bitcoin’s source.
While executing the September 2012 fraud, ZHONG did not list any item or service for sale on Silk Road, nor did he buy any item or service on Silk Road.  ZHONG registered the accounts by providing the bare minimum of information required by Silk Road to create the account; the Fraud Accounts were merely a conduit for ZHONG to defraud Silk Road of Bitcoin.
