341  Economy / Marketplace / Re: BitVPS WANTS TO HELP SLUSH -- YOU CAN TOO on: March 02, 2012, 03:31:21 AM
People should be completele aware of what they are dealing with.

BitVPS's WHMCS installation was hacked recently and user data likely compromised.

It is well known that their administrators regularly inspect users hard drives.

Look before you leap.

Are you kidding me phantomcircuit?

Honestly guys, I don't care about Linode. I care about Bitcoin and friends of mine, like slush.

However, it does stand to reason, if this issue happened, who knows whats coming down the line.
I can tell you that you wouldn't be able to do what happened on Linode with our console.

343  Economy / Marketplace / Re: BitVPS WANTS TO HELP SLUSH -- YOU CAN TOO on: March 02, 2012, 12:52:26 AM
Lol.

I'm not going to fight to get them to accept Bitcoin.
That would effectively take business away from us.

rg is really a good guy, forget about the reputation preceding him!
and he sells only the best VPS.

the Bitcoin community rises to the challenge.

What reputation? <g>
345  Economy / Marketplace / BitVPS WANTS TO HELP SLUSH -- YOU CAN TOO on: March 01, 2012, 09:58:12 PM
Hi,

Today, Linode was compromised and a lot of users lost a LOT of Bitcoins. One user in particular, was slush. Slush owns/maintains one of the longest running pools and has been an asset to the community since day 1.

Due to the unsettling news of loss that slush has endured; BitVPS will be donating 40% of new user fees directly to slush to help him recoup losses.

Any ex-customers of Linode are more than welcome. Please use coupon code 'SLUSH' during sign up to get 15% off *any* package and 40% of your fee will be donated right to slush.

[slush(~marekp@unaffiliated/slush)] I cannot express how I appreciate this kind of support

Let's show slush how appreciative we can really be.

If you dont want a VPS, donations can be sent directly to us at 1BTL7H2nfBMaKmShK4exL74CaLGvXJjAzZ
I will post a donation address for slush as soon as he works out whats safe/what isn't.

347  Economy / Services / Re: BitVPS! Premium KVM VPS / Virtual Dedicated / Dedicated Servers for Bitcoins! on: February 29, 2012, 07:50:16 PM
It is with heavy heart I announce that BitVPS now accepts PayPal. We've had several customers who've asked for it.

Nothing changes with BitVPS as far as service. We just needed to reach a wider market than Bitcoin only. It's the only way we can stay in business.

However! Paying with Bitcoin is still *cheaper*. People paying with PayPal will incur extra fees.

We love you all.

Hi boys,

BitVPS (BitVPS.COM) is currently seeking a $2100 loan to buy:

2 x 1u Intel Dual Quad cores
2 x HP Raid cards
2 x Set of rails for the servers

We've been in business a few months now and are looking to cut costs by switching to co location instead of renting hardware from our hosts. We are profitable and operate with 0 debt. We can get into company financials for *serious* and interested lenders.

The company is owned and operated by 'rg' and 'grubles'.

Feedback & ratings:
http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=grubles
http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=rg

Terms of the loan are available by message or email. I prefer not to discuss it out in the open. But basically, it will work out to you making $300 for lending us the money for 6 months.

You can contact me here or at james@bitvps.com

Thanks for looking!

even if its not a conventional scam. this offer reaks to high hell.

maybe your solution should be NOT getting more loans as you've clearly fucked up the first one you got.
