It would help if you guys could do promotions or something. I have just came accross here and this is the only pvp game I came accross that pas bitcoin. This is an awesome project and if it will gain more supporters then this could really be a fun place for people who enjoys pvp gambling.

thanks, I think we have a good offer for advertisers,
http://battlecoin.org/referus

you get 100 satoshi per person (but this is just a way to get some dust to play with if you are missing some)
more importantly, you get 10% of our earnings from each user you bring for forever.

but as the site didn't take off and has earned like 50$ total since the launch haha, this is not profitable, we'd need a 1000 active users for it to be sustaining I think.

for some reason most people don't stick around
2  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: May 16, 2016, 08:04:24 AM
I contacted the dev before my event in April to see if I could show this game at my event as I haven't seen such a well design / planned Bitcoin game before like this.

I've had no reply either from the PM or email sent. Hope we can keep this project alive.

oh shit I might have missed this or thought it might have been a mass email, sorry! if this is still an option, I'm around.

--

to reply to other stuff.

Yeah, like people have been saying, this was a looooot of work, everything is custom made as what was available from technology wasn't good enough.
I actually started working on 3D & mobile http://battlecoin.org/webgl

but it never got popular enough to sustain the development, on the contrary. and after a year of part time work and a year of full time work I ended up too poor to continue and got a full time job. I think this needed a year more of work/research/advertising/changing stuff, to figure out how to get players interested but I was in an annoying place and needed a change. Tried to get a silicon valley investment (Boost VC) but didn't manage to. https://www.leet.gg/ got serious money so I was hoping they'd be keen. this also needed some more work, but didn't have time.

People that do come and stay are really really enthusiastic (like you people, thanks!) but for some reason most people don't stick around Sad couldn't figure it out.
Hoped tournaments/3d/lag fixes would help. I don't know.

Pools would actually be way easier to implement!

I won't turn this site off, it will keep running as that's cheap.

But will the site at least remain active? I enjoy playing some games. Btw I tested in Google Chrome and it was smoother, definitely playable and I don't get the glitches mentioned before on Firefox.

I hope you can get the ball running in the future once Bitcoin is more mainstream, im sure this type of skill based game will be a massive hit eventually.

yeah I feel like it should be popular too, yeah the site will keep running, and I hope to get back to it when I have some cash to spare

Hey ppl, a sad anouncement today, I decided to halt the development of battlecoin and get a dayjob, I'm too poor and website is not earning enough yet, and searching for investors seems like a very slow route. (will keep looking so something might change in the following months, we'll see)

will get back to it, and work on it when I catch time, but won't have the time to work on it full time even though I really love this project.
5  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: January 14, 2016, 03:11:32 PM
Sometimes the game becomes so laggy that I am unable to move my character in time resulting in either dying from opponent's bomb or getting smashed by the sudden approaching of boundary wall. Undecided

Can you explain the reason behind such lagging behavior?

Also it will be great if you implement a bonus feature like for example, collecting some bitcoins by bursting some hidden walls. Wink

when did you play last time?
there was a lag update yesterday, player movement should be totally smooth and instantaneous now, is it still happening?
6  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: January 14, 2016, 02:58:38 PM
I just played a game and lag glitches are still there, when I try to be snappy on the edges of the walls to turn in another direction my character appears in another place all of a sudden in the next place, I also died when I was still playing (I touched a frame of fire from an enemy bomb and nothing happened, then like 2 seconds later it said "you lost"). My ping was a decent 50ms.
 Looking forward to further updates.

very strange, didn't see anything like this and no one reported anything similar, maybe try again and see if its still there, let us know on the site (refering to the exact game so I can check it out)

in any case, tnx for the info, and working on it Smiley

I played again and it isn't any better. I think it's in fact worse than the last time I played (before the update you are talking about). There is something wrong going on. When I approach a wall, the sprite of the character appears 1 block away when I stop moving. Like I get right next to a wall, then I stop pressing the walking button and I go back 1 square. Im using Firefox. I could somehow record this in a .gif image to see what's exactly going on or something.

incredibly weird Cheesy this is definetely not normal behaviour. I think it might be a cache issue (even though the site reports the files changed to browsers and your browser should get the new version automatically) maybe your browser is using old code to interact with the new changed game. try clearing the cache? try changing browsers?

- edit

just tested it on ff, works ok on my side

9  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: January 08, 2016, 10:58:07 AM
Could bigger matches happen? Like with more people. Imagine an huge map with 16 players playing last man standing, it would be pretty fun and the winner would win a lot more money than when you have 4 people involved, with less risk as you would still not need to bet more, but win more as you take 15 people's BTC's.

Yes, that's one of the plans, I'd also love to see 10 vs 10 battles on larger maps and such. this is what we are working towards.
10  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: January 05, 2016, 01:07:10 PM
Well its good to see new games based into bitcoins, but why dont you offer a faucet game?I mean let players join and win some free satoshis, make a round of 10 minutes or even 5 minutes where the last players alive would win something, otherwise i guess you will not have a big ammount of players having fun inloved for bomberman returns.

yes, tournaments will be something like that, they are under development, and rewards will be much much bigger then on the faucet websites.

I offered 100 satoshi for each free game win for a month but people started exploiting it and starting many games against themselves, so I turned it off for now, until I implement some checks against this.
11  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: January 05, 2016, 12:11:07 PM
Looks nice. Smiley but it for only small bets. there is no big bets. not big... normal bets. like 0.005 - 0.01.

so. thisis for "funny spending time"  Grin

some people earned around 100$
http://battlecoin.org/leaderboards

yup, not that many players yet so not so easy to find higher bets quickly, but there are often people around that will take you on a 10-20$ bet easily. we had offers for 1BTC bets but no one wanted to accept them at the time.

In the future I'd like to make an unusual bet offer/reply system with which you can say something like "I offer a 100BTC match @ EU" and someone can accept the offer, and you an arrange the time. something like that.
12  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: January 03, 2016, 11:14:08 PM
Still loving this game but I see the lag hasn't been fixed yet. I would like to know when a proper update for lag will happen. Only then we can expect more people to start playing imo. When i've logged in I always see around 10-15 people but back in the day I saw like 70.

70 was peak, but it lasted almost the whole 24 hours.

yup, I absolutely agree with you, working hard, the service is complex, we had a lot of things to sort out in the backend and a lot of small stability fixes / bugs. But now that's done, and my next task is to solve the lag. Its also not a very large task, will be fixed soon. but I hate to promise dates.

after the lag fix I will feel like we have a minimal viable service. will work on webgl then as that wil make the graphics run way smoother and will be able to make mobile clients and such.
13  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: December 20, 2015, 03:47:01 AM
I would love to see this implemented in a fighting arcade game like street fighter, that would be rad, 1v1 and people can spect the fight. And some other 4 player based arcade games like the micro-machine games were great fun as a kid, it would be nice to play online betting real money.

me too Smiley for now, I want to do a lot with bomberman still.

like, 3d, level editor, 10vs10 team games on large fields, tons of stuff Smiley

but if this succeeds, we'll implement more games, and let people vote for the ones they'd like to see

update

big update got pushed in today

games will properly run and finish even if the main server is restarted while they are running. - this was a feature I really wanted to have, should help with reliability a lot.

a few small ui fixes are in
a fix for powerups from dead players not showing up
a fix for invisible walls

I messed up shadows though Smiley this got in the update by accident, will be reverted

Do you guys have a ref banner I can steal? Tongue
If not I still got a bannersnack account. You want me to make one for you?  Bomberman/bitcoin theme of some kind.

we are out of a designer for a moment and this is the only thing we have (a part of the logo)

http://imgur.com/2BucXJB

728x90 and 468x60 are the sizes I've often seen requested

if you feel like making a banner that's awesome, do you mind if I put it on the website in the refer us window as something people can use?

we've made a landing page too that quickly explains what the site is about (you have to be logged out to see it) and it opens the site in new tab if its opened from within an iframe.

http://battlecoin.org/landing

this thing
http://battlecoin.org/landing#YOUR_REFERAL_ID
doesn't work yet, but will soon.

I think the banner could also say something like
"Kill players
Take their bitcoin"

so people get the idea before they click..

sorry, there was a bug with this, fixed now, pls contact me via support form so I can pay you out Smiley
16  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: December 14, 2015, 04:22:03 PM
You don't get 100 free sat anymore when creating an account? I tried to play a game at work (using a different computer, username and other connection) but my randomly new generated character didn't have the free 100 sat so I wasn't able to play for money (I don't want to have access to my BTC at work to be honest)

you should have gotten it, if this work IP hasn't been seen before by the server. will verify that everything is ok.
btw you can also ask anyone on the server for some satoshi to play with Smiley
17  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: December 13, 2015, 05:45:20 PM

19  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: December 11, 2015, 04:27:40 PM
a lot of bugfixes are up, some of you have been made moderators! you can kick people. it doesn't do much for now, just redirects them to a random funny website.

please use this only for kicking spammers/ultra annoying rude people/people blocking games from starting

lag has been fixed, but the code is not up yet, will be soon.
20  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: December 10, 2015, 01:54:34 AM
Is the source code somewhere? I would like to make a game like this but i have no idea how to code, I would like to learn to implement bitcoin gaming in a multiplayer simple game like this.

this would be very hard for you to use.

multiplayer games and games in general are not an easy software to write, check out https://unity3d.com/ framework, should make it much simpler
