701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Snowballs | ONE MORE HARD FORK to BALLS 2.0.2 | Yes, Another Fork. Enjoy! on: March 18, 2015, 06:20:44 PM
I bought another million at 3 today Smiley
Who want to sell me 1M @ 2?

lol not a chance... my order of 750k at 2 got filled last night while I was sleeping
I was first in the row, the 1M BALLs are alraidy mergerd into my super block of 7.6M and I put it online in 24 hour from now.
I'm very curious what iGot has in mind after 360K?
I repeat my question when is the espected date for block 360K?
We are there are now @ 296441

I would say a few weeks to go Smiley

iGotSpots, what's better not to say that it takes a few weeks?
Now @ block 297335
296441 - 297335 = 894
My post was 38 hour back.
That is 894 blockes in 38 hour so in 40 hour about 1000 blockes.
We need 63000 blackes, and 40 * 63 = 2549 hour = 105 days!
I think we have to large blocks to do it into 3 weeks Smiley

Your first post was 11 hours ago, not 38.  It looks like Balls has a 45 sec block time.  With that,  I calculate about 32.8 days before the fork.  Lines up with you math if you figure 11 hours instead of 38.
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] QIBUCK COIN - X13 - POS/POBH - 1st Proof of Baghold on: March 17, 2015, 03:52:05 AM
Hi can anyone please explain to me the staking process or direct me where I can read about it? I see my stake goes up then goes down in my wallet. Is that normal?
Will it all go to stake by itself because that's what I would like it to do.
Do I just have to wait or do I need to change the reservebalance in my wallet?
So far I've done nothing just left it at default vales.

Tbone, you don't have to do anything.  What your seeing is normal.  You should see you balance slowly increasing, as coins stake.  The stake value is just the coins that are currently being staked and are not available to send.  I haven't really paid much attention to that, but in a well behaved client, the balance, and stake should be your actual total coin balance.

Just sit back and watch your investment grow.  And feel good that your contributing to moving along the QBK blockchain.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A story about Fred, the MMXIV Prospector on: March 12, 2015, 06:41:27 PM
OK, thread abandoned. No more updates.

Next weeks headline, Fred, the beloved investor, was found hanging in his run down apartment after a call from concerned neighbors. It was an apparent
suicide. The whole place was trashed and police are still trying to decipher the many written Roman numerals and mathematical formulas covering the walls and floors.

More updates to follow....

  LOL....

To bad we can't see the bad with the good.  When you make assumptions and things look to good to be true, they usually are.  It would still be nice to follow the numbers even if they are not good news.  We can still learn from our failures...
704  Economy / Gambling / Re: DiceBot (Martingale, Labouchere) for Just-Dice, PRC, 999dice and safedice on: March 12, 2015, 02:07:15 PM

Comments on the new build, b8 is the one I tried.  I just used it on Just-dice.

First the good, I loved being able to chat while the bot was running.  The old version 2.5.5taken back by  took the focus from the chat input each time a bet was made.  I was surprised by the change in the layout.  But was able to figure it out in about 2 minutes..  Took a bit though.

The bad.  Or maybe I just don't know what I'm doing.  Manual bets does not provide the full function of the site.  There is no way to double or half your bet easily.  Also the manual bets are not adjusted as the bot plays.

I play a modified martingale and stop after X loses.  Then I want to manually bet.  Old version worked great for this.  The new one, I have to manually calculate the bet and type it in.

    Thanks for the great bot....

I expect the forks for both BALLS and 10k to hit pretty close to the same time

What fork is this?  Another one or the one that already happened?
Today release of version 2.02 and they start on the same day with a new protocol.

Will this be a hard fork?  Are new clients required?  No mention of this in the OP.  I follow this thread, and this one flew right over my head.  I must have been reading fork and thinking it was the fork that just happened 2-3 weeks ago.

707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Pearl on: March 04, 2015, 02:02:34 PM
Are fees necessary for clam? If staking is same and not ending over the time ?

Staking is 1 coin per block, 1440 coins per day. Forever! No block halvings or other nonsense.

This can change though.

I imagine the block reward will be reduced in the next 2 years or so.

Why's that?

One of the things that sold me on CLAM was the linear distribution curve

I wouldn't get to nervous about this.  That's one Man's opinion, note the use of the word "imagine".

To keep a POS coin network alive you need to have lot's of nodes moving the block chain along.  The people running the nodes need to be compensated for there time and resources.  At present, the transaction fees are increasing, but don't amount to much.  In the last 6 stakes I've made .0014 from the fees.  hardly enough incentive to keep a node running.

BTC generates a 25 coin per block reward for the miners.  They try to average 6 blocks per hour.  So that's 150 BTC per hour Vs. Clams 60 clams per hour.  And the CLAMS block chain is 10X faster then BTC.  When BTC halves the block reward to 12.5 they will still be generating more coins then CLAMS, and the blockchian will still be 10X slower.

There may come a day when the volume of Clam transactions, and thus the transaction fee's, are high enough to sustain a network.  If or when that will happen is anyone's guess...

    That's just my opinion.

I tried to post a comment, but it didn't show up. Maybe it's waiting for moderation, I'm not sure:

Quote
Nice write-up. I have a few comments:

> Meet CLAM, a new cryptocurrency

It's not all that new. It has been around since May 2014.

> which has been steadily rising ever since it was lauched

That's not really true. It only started rising in December. Before that the price was steadily falling, pretty much.

> As we can conclude from the above chart, CLAM’s market cap is displaying uninterruptible

> mere $816,447, today has peaked to over $1 million — in just over a month

Well, again no. That sudden increase from $0 to $816k indicates the day that coinmarketcap started tracking the data. I have been trying to get them to include the historical data in their chart, even providing the data for them to use, but so far I've had no luck:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=199685.msg10379165#msg10379165

> something that reminded us of NXT network

CLAM is actually a distant descendant of Bitcoin (via Litecoin, Peercoin, Blackcoin, and probably more). NXT is its own thing, unrelated to Bitcoin, although it is proof-of-stake which may be why it reminded you of CLAM.

> small exchanges, which include Poloniex, Yacuna and most notable Cryptsy

While Cryptsy is the biggest exchange listing CLAM, almost all the trading happens on Poloniex. Probably because they were the first to add a CLAM/BTC market.

If I may be so rude as to include a little ad, Just-Dice.com started accepting CLAM when the price started shooting upwards in December. CLAM is the only currency Just-Dice accepts. The site stakes the CLAMs it holds on users' behalf and distributes the staking profits between them (after taking a cut, of course!)

All of the above plus,  He didn't really get into the digging aspect of clams either.  The fact that most users already own them,  Etc....

just to clarify the auto anon doged wallet install for linux is as follows:

apt-get install git
git clone https://github.com/doged/autoi2p && cd autoi2p
chmod +x autodogedi2p.sh
./autodogedi2p.sh

its been tested on a fresh ubuntu install, and works perfectly =] excellent thing about this is, as the i2p network grows, i can just modify the git and add nodes, or if the wallet updates, etc.. this install will always remain current.

very excited to release the windows version of the auto-anon wallet install as well.

sorry this took so long to get out guys, but it takes a little troubleshooting sometimes to get things perfect. a big thanks to blackwat3r for the contribution on this one. stay tuned for the windows version, id imagine just a few more days, as i have most of it done, theres just one little part i need to get working, just a matter of proper syntax..

*for advanced users, our windows wallet does work on our i2p anon network currently, if you'd like to follow the instructions on the OP or our website.

** it is insane seeing the nethash lately.. it hit over 300 last night.. pretty wild.. been seeing volume too, which is nice.. and alot of tweets.. as always i appreciate the support from everyone =]

done!! but wallet it use very a lot of upload bandwidthUndecided Undecided

Read back a page or 2.  You can add connect statements to you HyperStake.conf file to force the client to only connect to known good clients.

Also did you have to use the -loadblock=bootstrap.dat option when you reloaded the blockchain?

I forgot to add that when I recovered and I think I ended up pulling everything from the network.
715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | Security Fork 2/13/15 - Most PoS Coins Vulnerable!!!! on: February 13, 2015, 08:47:47 PM
just checked mine, 13 blocks out of sync, setting connect, see what happens.  I cannot tell looking at the peers which ones may be correct protocol or subver?

so connect synced it back up, so i changed connect to addnode, and turned my listen off.  Expected this to connect to your peer and then pickup good clients, but it's showing 84 blocks remaining now, so must be connected to some other clients that are on wrong fork.

Will let it run for a bit, then try something else.

Protocol and sebver are the same right now. Just check to see if your height matches up to the block explorer hyp and you should be good. Eventually these other nodes on their alt fork will slow down and get behind the main chain.

What do you suggest if the height is not correct.  The fork I'm on is almost 100 blocks ahead of the explorer.

I would make sure to have the correct client (v1.1). And restore to a backup of the chain if you have one. If not you might need to bootstrap from scratch.

I have the new client (V1.1).  I got this after I thought I was on the wrong fork.  No back up of the chain.  (Is there an easy way to do this?) and last do you have a new bootstrap.dat?

I'd love to know how to make my own backup.  I have problem with a few different clients, and making my own would be sweet.  It isn't as simple as making a copy and renaming it?
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : now with added CLAMs : Play or Invest on: February 13, 2015, 08:31:12 PM

So you can verify your rolls, it doesn't mean it's 100% safe but at least random.

Safe from whose point of view?  You the user?  Or Doog the site administrator?

For you it's safe.  It's showing that the rolls can not be manipulated in the sites favor.

For Doog, not as safe.  If someone figured out their seed, they could in theory Clean house.

seuntjie,

Super nice bot...  I'll be sending a tip your way, any day now...

Has anyone had a problem using the auto withdrawal from Just-Dice?  I get a windows error panel when the auto withdraw fires.  It's after the withdraw happens, seems like it might have to do with dismissing the withdraw pop-up.  I reply continue and I have to X out of the with draw pop-up.  The auto-invest seems to work flawlessly.

Also I've had the auto withdraw kick off twice, a few times.  IE when I have 110 coins I want to withdraw 4 to my offsite wallet.  So my balance should not go below 106.
I've seen it go to 102.  Only happened 2 times, out of maybe 8-10 trys.

Also the max bet info on the stats tab, seems to be off by 1.  This is just something to look out for.  I was looking at several things, and seemed to come to that conclusion.  I don't remember how I came up with it, but I've been basing my betting on max bet -1.

Edit: I haven't looked at the code, but I'm assuming the calculation for max bets is using the balance and amount wagered, and it should use the balance and Total amount wagered.  Thats based off the labels in the streak table.

Also not sure if it's noted anywhere, but the advanced bet settings do not seem to take effect until you stop and restart betting.  If your already betting and make chances they don't work.  Once you realize this everything seems to make more sense.

Thanks again for all of you hard work.    Bob

Thank you.

I've never seen the withdrawal crash the bot, but I've seen the double withdrawal bug as well. It is definitely fixed in the version I'm working on.

The max bet thing is tricky. Under certain circumstances it's correct, under others it's +1. I'll try and fix it, but the the calculations are hard with all of the settings.

The advanced bet settings should take effect the moment you focus on a new control. Just click a few times on different text boxes and it should take effect while it's running.

For the withdrawal crash.  This is the diag info...

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMS, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Pearl, Recent Mandatory Update on: February 11, 2015, 01:50:57 PM

1) Each minute a new CLAM is created
2)There is only one real use of CLAM : invest in the just-dice bankroll
3)The price is probably pumped on the exchanges to allow unload of CLAMs outside the exchanges
4)Developers have hundreds of thousands of CLAM
5)Millions of CLAM will be digged and sold for valuable BTC

1) True
2) True - But this is 100% more use then most alt coins.
3) False - This is straight up FUD.
4) False - There are only 500K Clams.  Your claiming the developers hold over 40% of the clams.  Another FUD Claim.
5) I think False.
Currently 291K Clams have been dug.  That's 1.9% of the potential available clams.  Clams have been around about 9 months.  We need to dig another 1.7 million clams for your claim to be true.  The dig rate increase as the price increases, so maybe, if 1 Clam = 1 BTC, then we will see over 2 million clams dug.
What was your time frame for this claim? in the next month, year, or infinity...

Bob
