this is a recent issue; a bugfix release will be done today.
edit: sorry, it's not the issue I thought it was. you should probably upgrade Elctrum.

Old versions of Electrum (before 2.5.1) produce transactions with high S values. These transactions are now nonstandard. This does not mean they will be rejecteed, they might still be accepted by a miner. However, it is likely that you will not see them in the memory pool of most nodes. So please upgrade Electrum to the latest version.

There is no "electrum recover" command; the relevant command is called "electrum restore".
You probably made a mistake with your seed; The fact that words are in the list is not sufficient to ensure that a seedphrase is valid.

Checked. It was localbitcoins. Was that unadvisable?
I will check. Maybe we should remove them from the list.

which source are you using?

Do you have any charity or cause you'd like me to donate the bounty to? I sincerely appreciate your help! I thought those coins were gonzo. Please let me know if I can donate the coins to a worthy cause.
if you want to donate to the project, I suggest you donate to one of the electrum servers

He's got an old version of Electrum so he needs to update it.
screenshot says 2.5.1 IT WORKED! I feel like there were a number of people who posted comments that may have helped, and may have worked, but this was the simplest and it didn't require me to uninstall or reinstall anything. Should I donate the money to Electrum? Or do you want it personally/ Please advise, and thank you everyone for your help. I don't know the best way to handle this, but your advice was the most simple. If you want to designate someone else to receive it, I'm happy to send it wherever you'd like. I do not accept donations. if by chance you have saved a copy of the wallet while it was not working, and still have it, I would be happy to take a look, in order to find out what the issue was (remove all the bitcoins first, using the working copy, and email the file to me) edit: if you want to donate to the project, I suggest you donate to one of the electrum servers

Okay, going to try to reinstall it after I backup the seeds and password which I definitely have.
that should not be necessary. first try to quit the client and restart it. if that does not fix it, type in the console tab, press return, quit the client and restart

the address that received the coins seems to be starting with 164kT, so why are you posting a screenshot of 16aiUK ?

Thank you for testing. The new binaries are available on electrum.org, with signatures
A 'portable' version is also available, separate from 'standalone'. The portable version stores electrum_data in the local directory.

I am facing another problem with 2.4.4, I hope the newer version solves it, when I am on linux machine and I import a new key, it only remembers as long as it stays on, after the restart the address is missing from the wallet? Any reason why is that happening or how can make it remember??
Update to the latest version, and open an issue if that bug is still there.

Any idea when we will have Trezor support back in Electrum?
soon (tm)

you can keep using your old wallet, but you will need to update your software

I just downloaded 2.5.1 tonight and restored one wallet from a 2of2 pair.
a pair of what? if you entered both seeds, or both xprv, then the wallet has everything it needs to complete the tx

Looks like they solved the issue.
Well, in that case it would be nice if they could say it, and explain what the problem was. Feedback is important.

what is the transaction ID? can you check that the address they were sent to is listed in your wallet's list of addresses?
|
|

this is caused by the malleability issue. you have to upgrade to latest electrum version (2.5) please don't forget to report back if it worked.
