Fine, show us the kosher feast then!

Everyone is looking forward to the fruit of their labour, even when it doesnīt turn out to be as good as planned (or bacon for that matter).

Letīs see the bacon!

I have a feeling you don't see a lot of that coming from Israel Wink
It is obviously a metaphor.

As a non-swiss resident, you need a lawyer for almost anything. Lawyers arenīt cheap.

I also donīt think it is likely you will be able to prove any criminal charges against them.

You might be able to accelerate getting your money back, but it will still take months. (and bitmine might have payed until then, so the legal costs werenīt neccesarry in the first place)

Also, have fun arguing your case in Italian.

I guess they have Zvisha locked up in the basement as he works the firmware to achieve the highest possible stable hashrate on the units.
828  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 29, 2014, 11:14:53 AM
S3 batch 4 order shipped.

Order marked as collected.

To get rid of any doubts:

The Swiss legal system doesnīt typically award lawyer cost and other expenses to the winning party.

Swiss lawyers arenīt cheap at all.

You will be looking at major legal costs if you want to sue them, and I do not think they would be found guilty of any criminal charges.

Bitmine seems to have shipped most of the orders now, and apparently have the capabilities to deliver a large amount of hashpower in shorter times.

It might be best if you just come to a conclusion aka 200% hashpower delivered now... etc

No, because the average miner isnīt a thick (American) person unable to read a manual and / or search this forum to find the atleast two detailed setup guides.

learning on the internet is only partial learning, its not complete. that is only the reading/video part of training.
There has to be hands on training, with guidance from someone who is more experienced, else the training is lacking

Are you being deliberately stupid?

You donīt need hands on training to setting up a PC, do you?
Did you take a course on how to connect your router to the internet?

Hands on training to use a washing machine? (Hint, most ppl are okay with a manual).

Setting up an Antminer is actually much easier, so quit your whining.
831  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 29, 2014, 05:14:14 AM

Have any of you ever considered teaching a course about 'how to mine bitcoins with such and such hardware' ?
not on the internet, I mean, in person teaching, and making sure that the student can actually do it, and
has replicated classroom work at home.

No, because the average miner isnīt a thick (American) person unable to read a manual and / or search this forum to find the atleast two detailed setup guides.

@bitbets
The S3 is one of the easiest to use products.

You can complain when you need to build cgminer from source and patch it in order for your stuff to work, but not about going into a webinterface and changing the ip of the unit.

This has to be done for any networked miner, so I am not sure why you think it is especially difficult.
833  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 29, 2014, 04:50:03 AM
Any power supply will be less efficient at 120V vs 230V, therefore the maximum supplied power is lower.

Specifically, both the Murata and Emerson are only rated as 1050W on a 120V circuit. (vs 1250+ at 208V+)

This is due to simple physics, and spondoolies cannot do too much about it. Any halfway decent datacenter will have 208V+ available.

It isnīt too difficult to run a 240V circuit in an American home, and the rest of the world doesnīt have such an exotic voltage in their house anyway.

It officially stated 6TH +/-10 % on their website, and the 6TH figure was also repeated as the new "normal" figure on the forums (and spondoolies even proposed that it might be higher).

The chip is rated
Quote
Rated hash rate: 200 GH/s per chip, with a wide range of overclock/downclock options

This speed was also given when tapeout was announced.
835  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: July 28, 2014, 05:46:12 PM
That is why I am asking, to use other users as guinea pigs.

If someone has tested the waters and deems them safe, I will have more information available.
836  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 28, 2014, 05:29:23 PM
Yes, I agree we shouldnīt speculate.

As for the hashrate of the sp30, it was quite offensively marketed as 6TH (+/-10%, against the Neptune if I remember correctly) so this should be the basis for any compensation (along with the 0.4W/GH).
837  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 28, 2014, 05:21:55 PM
Yes, I will get my July sp30 in the next days.

I am obviously not immune in my desire to speculate, as any naturally curious person isnīt.

OK, then. We can make a poll as to what TH Sp-30 will be at:
In my opinion 4-4.5Th. If it is at 3-3.5 th-then it is a shocker.
Thankfully opinions donīt change the hashrate a unit achieves (or my sp10 would already hash at 100TH).

Letīs wait and see what spondoolies will tell soon.
838  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: July 28, 2014, 05:07:49 PM
Would like to hear from anyone who bought / changed an order to cloud hashing.

The service should be online starting at the middle of August.
839  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 28, 2014, 05:02:49 PM
Slow corner asics are typically sorted out by testing, only allowing typical/typical and fast/fast asics to be implemented in the miners.

That being said, spondoolies probably had no other option than to ship miners with the chips they had in-hand.
