I guess gaw "preordered" some batch 1 units and now puts them up for sale...

They will have gotten a small volume discount (maybe like 10-15%) which enables them to still sell at a nice profit.

Get ready to be pissed.
Won't help. ST already have his money. They can do what they want now.
Like for example, go on vacation with that money?
Zvi was probably one of the hardest working guys with the sp-tech team the past months.
(Hint: most of the sw work was done before product launch)

Let him get a rest from the hamster wheel that is todays job environment.

Its not like he is taking a two-week sponsored vacation, so keep your hat on.

Groupbuy units were by far the best price /gh, and will be after the promised compensation.

This should more than make up for the fact that shipping/building takes some time.
704  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 13, 2014, 04:11:09 PM
I own multiple sp30s and spondoolies is shipping every day now.

It takes some time to build ~1000 4.5TH miners.

It was obvious from the first day that groupbuy units would not be the first ones shipped in August.

There is frankly still a lot of time left in August and unlike other companies, spondoolies doesnīt only ship on the last few days of a month.
705  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 13, 2014, 03:11:15 PM
They obviously do 500 at 250 clock speed, as clock speed directly relates to GH.

Anyway, with them both shipping at the same time, I guess I would go for the sp30 every time.
706  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 13, 2014, 03:06:33 PM
I have free energy around 10kw/h so I can order some ants for september

you dont want to underestimate the amount of Ph that will be added to the network nor the difficulty.. one month is eternity in bitcoin. plus S3+ are just what S3 were supposed to do initially. complete BS. you can see manufacturers are having a hard time, competition is ramping up and they prefer solomine whilst also presaling these miners.. bad business practices.. bad bad bad..
My S3s that I bought just for fun all do 475 and most do 500GH stable 24/7.

SP30 is probably still the better deal though.

Where do you live in Europe?

It is very likely that there are hosting options available that are in fact cheaper than hosting it at your house.

Additional VAT charges that apply when importing into Europe would also not need to be paid.
708  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 13, 2014, 04:55:20 AM

Who do I email for change of shipping address??
sales@ should work fine.

Just include stuff like the order id and obviously the new shipping address in the email.
709  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 13, 2014, 04:07:56 AM
Spondoolies is in full production mode at the moment and support requests with less priority could take a little longer than expected.

You will get very fast replys if you need to change your shipping address (e.g to your hosting site) or need help with one of your already owned units (you can also post here first and someone will likely help you).
710  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 11, 2014, 06:51:34 PM
They are in the business of maximizing profit, what makes you think any saving would be passed to the consumer?
They are still one of the best companies out there, in terms of product aswell as customer service.

The problem is that spondoolies is still very small compared to bitmain or Bitfury, which is hopefully going to change.

I am sure nobody wants a market with only two big players, one of them not selling to consumers.

711  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 11, 2014, 05:31:21 PM

supposedly their chips are made in China , and we are also talking about BitMain who are pumping out S3s at a crazy rate right now
already up to batch 6 or 7 since it was launched 30 days ago
Chips are fabbed all over the world (and there is no big profit in fabbing chips for the fab).

While Bitmain pumps out a lot of Ants, they are only ~0.5TH each. Bitfury is deploying 3.5TH units in their DCs, at 0.775W/GH.

Spondoolies produces 4.5TH units with a very small space requirement, and 5.5TH units hopefully soon.

The best thing you can do right now is to order with spondoolies and enable them to increase their batch sizes and therefore lower prices.
712  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 11, 2014, 04:47:18 PM
How did this turn into a "the Chinese" thread?

Bitfury is neither Chinese nor a Chinese company.
713  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 11, 2014, 03:36:35 PM
(Some) of the 3 unit bundles were shipped today.

As for shipping information, you should receive your tracking info on the evening of spondoolies giving the package to dhl.

You should then have a minimum of 48 hours until you units arrive to get mentally prepared.
714  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 11, 2014, 03:11:44 PM
It is not a groupbuy unit, but probably 1st August batch.
715  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP30 Setup [HD] on: August 11, 2014, 06:17:06 AM
I can also confirm the hashrate of 4.5TH at the pool for my first unit.

In fact it is nearly 100GH more, but it sometimes goes "down" to 4.5
716  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 10, 2014, 04:46:03 PM
It is actually quite simple.

Bitfury produces mining hardware, and around 50% was always used for their own mining effort (as margins where HUGE at the start and Bitfury had the most efficient chip for around 1 year).

They can either sell their produced hardware for a quick profit (which is what most smaller / capital hungry manufacturers do / have to do) or mine with it themselves.

As Bitfury has enormous funding, they do not need a quick profit on their investment in order to produce the next batch of hardware.

Bifury has realised that there is more profit to be made easily when wholesaling / building turnkey datacenters for investors / customers and/or mining themselves.

The majority of mining will move into datacenters / dedicated facilities before long, as equipment is cheaper to maintain there (scaling electricity and management costs etc.)

Miners / investors will still be able to try and make a profit on their investment by either purchasing shares of maintained power, or investing into an equipment "fund".
717  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: August 10, 2014, 03:28:41 PM
They are allowing all sorts of compensation aka additional hashpower and transfer of the amount they owe you to cloudhashing (it includes the 10% penalty).

They have stated before that they will process remaining refunds after their Icelan datacenter is online.
718  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 10, 2014, 02:35:18 PM
Please donīt forget to pay for the sp30 groupbuy hosting by tomorrow, if you want it(300$/m including shipping and installation, 6m contract).

If you were part in the groupbuy, you should have gotten all relevant information via email.

719  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GAW Miners on: August 10, 2014, 01:16:36 PM
Why not buy S3 directly from manufacturer?
Because Gaw miners provides free hosting for 1 month. This might be the reason to buy from gaw.  Grin
Well, it isnīt exactly free, it is just included in the price (so is the PSU when hosting).

You also have no minimum order quantity, and they were/ are available for 480$ on ZenMiner.
720  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive BitCrane T-110 Setup [HD] on: August 10, 2014, 09:48:22 AM
why the hell are these so overpriced?!
Because ppl want to make money and donīt realize that bitcoin mining is no longer a get-rich-quick game.

These particular units use the probably cheapest 28nm chip available, the one from hashfast. (it is the cheapest one because bankrupt hashfast sells them below internal cost)

The PCBs need a bit more than usual mining pcbs, and the watercooled system adds a little to pricing.

However, internal costs of these miners shouldnīt exceed 0.6$/GH, so there is a massive margin.
