Well you get something imported from another country. So it needs clearance. What exactly is needed I don't know for USA but somebody that has done the process can help you.
You should just call DHL, provide your tracking number and ask what they need.
Your government wants to identify you via one of the numbers, eg social security...

Germany serves as a hub for fedex aswell as dhl.

Even miners flying fedex to the US pass through Germany, so nothing to worry about.

I got an email for the compensation.
Is anybody interested in "A coupon for $944.06, to be applied to purchases from the October batch SP31 Yukon." - I accept BTC Smiley
I would guesstimate those are non-transferable, but please wait for spondoolies official comment.
584  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 27, 2014, 11:37:12 AM
That is why I repeated the post from spondoolies, which stated that August batch units will be shipped in August, more precisely before the 29th.

Your groupbuy order should therefore ship today or tomorrow (or was already shipped yesterday, though chances are that you would know about that).
585  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 27, 2014, 10:59:27 AM
This has been previously stated by sp-tech and asking the same question(s) every day doesnīt relly get you anywhere.

Spondoolies is shipping units every day, backlog will be cleared as per their promises.
586  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 27, 2014, 09:45:15 AM
And now back to the customers and their issues...

GB shipping? How soon before they are all cleared off the books SPTech guys or Guy?

Can the speculators please post to SPECULATION and let customers have some room to get answers?
Orders should ship before Friday.
587  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 26, 2014, 02:42:02 PM

I guess the gamble to get your money back is generate BTC and save them for when and if the rate goes up. If it doesn't and it goes down then we're just screwed all over again. If the rate goes up then the machines will also still be profitable and will run longer since the BTC can be exchanged for more USD. Let's all hope that it goes up to about $750-$850 by end of year so that we can exit with our money back at least. Congrats SP you got yourself some good money at our gamble and expense.

This is essentially what every hardware manufacturer does, spondoolies treats their customers quite fairly (and I know no better company in regards to this).

You cannot make spondoolies responsible for the way bitcoin mining (and the whole bitcoin ecosystem by extension) works.

If you are so angry about this, I would have liked to see your forum comments had you gone with BFL, or companies that didnīt deliver on their promises at all.
588  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 26, 2014, 02:30:50 PM

they cannot be a backbone because it is a small percentage of the network currently and in the near future.
A very small backbone like an atlas (C1) then.

It remains to be seen whether spondoolies will be able to increase volume as planned (chip sales might help here).

yes, better than the axis (C2)-I see that someone here knows anatomy  Wink
Because there is no corpus, so it is technically the smallest backbone.

Spondoolies miners seem very well-engineered and reliability is certainly important when speaking of longevity.

Economy of scale aswell as the huge importance of geographical position of your mining facility (as it relates to electricity prices)
will hopefully help the next deployment of spondoolies next gen equipment and customers to see even better ROI numbers in the not to distant future,
but for now the sp30 and sp31 seems like a very solid solution.

@Biodom: Any idea on how long the units will ROI and the actual life of the units to begin with? If difficulty continues to rise the way they are then how long approx before the machines can't even pay for their own hosting you think if hosting is $270 a month per unit? I'm considering the high possibility of just running them until they can't break even and just drop out of this mining thing because it's not worth the risk.

Nobody can give a good prediction on this, as the parameters to calculate it are largely unknown.

A typical lifetime for a miner has been around 1 year , which is mainly due to high historical efficiency increases.

Current generation Spondoolies miners could proove to be a reliable backbone of the blockchain for over 1 year, if difficulty growth decreases as expected and / or bitcoin value increases.

It is also likely that August batch machines will be profitable.
591  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 26, 2014, 02:02:14 PM

I think full refund is available (theoretically) only for the GB and he has (allegedly) September batch.
Okay, I wasnīt up to date on the alleged units.

My question would be, why would you do such a big investment if you arenīt absolutely sure there are factors which will help you ROI faster?

I can understand such a big investment if you are sitting in a warehouse with 400kW available electricity and rates of 2,5-5 ct/kWh....

But certainly not without even a hosting solution figured out, just saying.

That being said, the general consensus seems to be that average difficulty increases will slow down (and have already slowed down in the last months).
Bitfury approaches their internal cost very soon, and most other hardware is less power-efficient.
592  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 26, 2014, 01:50:38 PM
@ wissam

If you are so disappointed, why donīt you go for the refund?

Complaining on the forum how you think there will be perpetual difficulty rise and other factors not within direct control of spondoolies will certainly not help your position.

I agree that long-term pre-orders are risky and generally donīt turn out too well.

Spondoolies produces a quality product though, and there is such a high demand that people want to pay for their product in advance.
593  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 26, 2014, 01:41:38 PM
Are we there yet?
It is the end of the working day in Israel (unless you are loading SW on miners-that is an all nighter).
No email of any sort so far.

It seems like some groupbuy units were shipped today (and some were put into hosting aswell).

I got my first email regarding compensation today, so that is starting aswell.

My guess is that all groupbuy units should ship until Thursday, and will therefore be with their respective owners soon.
594  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner Tube Sales Information Thread [Round1 Ends, Round2 Starting Soon] on: August 26, 2014, 11:22:41 AM
This might be a total newbie question, but do I need to jump 2 pins on the atx connector of my PSUs to get this going?
yes, black and green (the black where 3 blacks are next to each other).
595  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 26, 2014, 09:04:21 AM
Things get real! I got an email from ST: "Please advise your wallet address for this order so we could connect it orderly."

Which means what?
That the unit is ready for hosting.
596  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 26, 2014, 05:53:39 AM
When did mining become all about ROI in less than 3 months?

Mining rewards have become less and ROI periods therefore longer in the last year.

We alse saw / see a slow down in average difficulty increase, exactly what you would expect when rewards get thinner.

The notion that mining will forever be the most profitable investment on the planet is utterly flawed.

It will eventually level out to something like electricity used + small incentive to keep mining.
How big this incentive will turn out to be depends on the mining community as a whole.

The statos quo still has some very nice ROI periods and therefore profits to be made.
597  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 26, 2014, 05:16:52 AM
Shipping time from spondoolies to the US is typically 2 days, you will receive the miner on the second day after shipment.

It should therefore be safe to say that pure shipping time shouldnīt be more than 2-3 days, unless you live at the proverbial end of the world.
598  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 24, 2014, 03:25:06 PM
Silicon area is always more expensive on a smaller process, but a much higher GH/area can be reached, therefore effectively making it cheaper.
599  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: XBTec Announce. New ASIC manufacturer. on: August 24, 2014, 07:41:27 AM
In a game of who pays first, gets units first, exactly that happens.

They had hardware to sell and people bought it. Who bought it? We can only speculate.

Nono, they're saying WHEN they have hardware to sell then they won't differentiate. They haven't properly launched sales yet it seems?
You might have misunderstood. The only thing I referred to is he who pays first, gets units first (which is a fair system in my opinion).

The statement "exactly that happens" only referred to what was stated before the comma in that particular sentence, not the previous post.

They previously sold some 1.25TH miners.

We too have orders at them, at this moment we're waiting the refund.
I will not hold it against you as your account is still quite new (and I guess you are already punished enough by dealing with BFL)

Anyone who does a quick forum search should immediatly be put off buying BFL products.
