Any brainstorms on how to more smoothly accept EAC for a online store?  I was thinking of creating a Earthcoin coupon,  so you could submit a $0.0 USD order,  Then the buyer would be responsible for converting the EAC 'value' against USD at that time then sending a EAC payment to a wallet I would manage.   I would then green-light the order after it was submitted then paid for.

Its crude... to crude for a professional solution, I don't mind doing this by hand a few dozen times.  But we have got to work out a better way.

I have mined eac since it first launched and it has done nothing but go down since the day it appeared on Coinedup. I think a lot of people are dumping this coin because it never gets listed on cryptsy when a lot of newer coins already are. I also hate to mine for days and days without knowing if it is all in vain. If it doesn't hit Cryptsy soon I am also going to dump all of mine at whatever price because it looks like all it ever does is go dowwwwwnnnnn. It started out on Coinedup at 800 now we are down to 200.

I think everyone whom sells in the next several weeks because of lack of crypsty, low prices or any of the other cited complaints:  will find themselves wishing they had held and stayed in the game.   I am also not thrilled about how many things are going with EAC however EAC as always been poised to be a long-term project.   I think good things come to those who wait.

You have no problem that all the EAC miners combined have created less EAC than OP has awarded himself?
stop talking about the premine in that negative tone. ?

Clearly you're either a sock-puppet or moron. Like, unlike or despite many others

Devs have I believe less than 200M coins left,  There is 650M  total market cap, with more everyday.    So everytime the devs sell/give/reward/trade they are diminishing their power over the currency.

What I don't understand is why people don't view the devs holding a stack of coin as a positive asset towards the coins future.   Bitcoin and LTC 'made' it.   They've garnered enough value through existence that there is a steady demand to hold value.   EAC or any other new coin has no value unless its earned.  Who is going to work for that value?   Miners that would just assuming skin it alive to make a fraction of a BTC?   Or someone(s) who see much bigger gains in the long-run.

Who is even going to line the devs pockets when they dump?  Where is there a line of investors waiting to goobble up 60M EAC at $.25 USD per coin?    Cryptsy isn't going to produce new demand (not much)  If this is a Dev-pump-scam-coin  then they have already failed to cash out so why are they posting here and continuing to work with the community?    How does working on a Android wallet get them closer to that 'magical hey we are rich from dumping coins on gullible loosers' goal they are after?

I think the real money is putting some ass into this thing and trying to give it wings and see if it can fly,  Or even glide a little.   Yeah lets start with glide.

There's something I don't get on this market. Where is(are) the guy(s) who was(were) pulling the price down yesterday and the days before?! As a consequence of what he did, the trade volume dropped down (with the price) and now the coin can be killed with 1.5 BTC (there is almost no more buying orders).

I do know earlier today when I was looking at coinex, there was a 1M+ wall (3.1 btc) at 2.8 that kept being placed and removed. Well, it was placed and someone came in a bought over 800k EAC, then someone else scooped in and bought the rest, 2.2 btc worth. Ever since then, there hasn't been a wall.

These prices are insane, now I'm tempted to beg/borrow/steal so I can buy up more of this slack!  From a strictly cold-investment standpoint this will advance my position and lower my median.   I'm curious why no one else is moving at least a few BTC in here and keeping this market propped up.
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins dying???? on: January 08, 2014, 06:12:07 AM

I've been doing a bit of research into earth coin and that seems like a pretty good quality coin, though I do know worldcoin is a VERY high quality coin to go for. Do you recommend me mining worldcoin or earthcoin at this point?

I'm a pretty big fan of Earthcoin,  Its not perfect and I have mined it solid basically since launch.  However now that I have a little pouch full of EAC I am going to start mining something else,  Either LTC or BTB likely and let it ride for a while so I don't have to babysit my miners as much.

I like EAC, but maybe you should mine it for a few days and then do WDC?   I think diversity can be healthy too!
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fibonacci SCRYPT ASIC Litecoin LTC Miners - Datasheet Posted on: January 07, 2014, 09:09:16 AM
I've been watching this.    And because you don't want your 'stuff' to get copied you are asking us to pay you nearly $1.00 a Khash for you to 'host' your scrypt miners?

A major portion of securing the risk of Scrypt mining is having hardware in hand that is able to be re-sold at varying degrees of depreciation.  Even if your price was  cut by 2/3rds I would still consider increasing my GPU's a more calculated and secured risk.   I have total control over my investment and truthfully I can increase my hashing power at a lower price.   The cost of electricity is obviously a factor but  I suspect most serious miners have found solutions to get power more affordably. (coop buying, commercial rates etc)

And then we have next-gen GPU's which maybe be even more hash per dollar than our best previous ones.   All of which will depreciate slowly and have manageable risk profiles.

I'm not against scrypt asics,  I would LOVE to get my hands on some.  And it looks like you are kicking butt here.  I'm ready to double down on crypto-currencies.  But short of physically coming to see your stuff I need it in my hands immediately.
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: January 05, 2014, 06:40:36 AM
I'm thinking about putting a little mental and computer energy into XPM,  Can you guys tell me in your own words where you this coin is and where it is heading?   I love many of these new alt-coins.   XPM just sounds good and I'm not going after any cpu-centric coins yet.   What do you think?
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins dying???? on: January 05, 2014, 06:34:23 AM
Not dying,  I think they are hopping actually.    I think Alt-coin is the new wild-west,  fortunes will be made and lost everyday.   And BTC is moving again,  that means people are holding BTC and not selling for Altcoins.   It was only when a altcoin I am chasing dropped to crazy lows I did not expect did I move a sliver of BTC over and sell it for altcoins.

Its really just math,  I think "more" money is moving into and around Altcoin than ever and its only increasing.  BTC paved the way,  LTC was the shadow ride along.  And now that they are both established they will provide the anchor and lubrication for a whole new economy of alt's.

I think we are going to see some crazy stuff come out.

How would you guys feel about an earthcoin only exchange (eac/usd - eac/btc - eac/ltc - eac/service/productexchange)?

It may become a reality.

USD in and out would dramatically increase our tools,    It is crazy tough to get BTC right now unless you take two weeks, or literally  meeting someone on the street.  Unless you trust ebay... or some other online method.

More planets to play with @ http://gaia.l8.lv/
good fun and returns.

:') is this scam or a bot because tried 10 times to get the cheapest one and the same "guy" gets it its impossible to get  Roll Eyes

How do you know if it was the same guy? You can put your name or not (if you dont put a name, you will se like anonymous), but i you want to be fast and take a planet before the rest, just punt your address and enter fast de captcha...

For Dev: is it possible to help the "poorer of us" get some action? Only been mining a few days and not yet reached the 50,000 EAC minimum!

Maybe have some 2-5K range?

Thanks

50K EAC is a lot,  I would not feel bad one bit!  If EAC establishes itself strongly as a top 10 crypto which I believe it will 50K EAC will make you very happy and proud of your time investment.

I guess this is a "downside" (lol?) of per block difficulty changes.

I like the Dynamism, but yeah,  a young coin without only 2-3Ghs a few dozen pools we are weak against it for now,  However tonight I noticed a almost immediate hash-return after the DDOS lifted, I estimate 50% of the lost Hashrate returned in less than 20 minutes!   People are paying more attention tonight than last night ha!   And if we moved fast the attackers would have much smaller gain regardless so it will hopefully discourage the attacks.
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: December 29, 2013, 11:57:30 AM
is there a specific pool that doesnt go down?   obviously this feels orchestrated.....looking over numbers...seems to happen nightly with increasing force

Yeah,  you are totally right,  Nightly for us anyway because I assume,  the attackers are counting on the fewest number of us to be online to manage our clients.  Infact the benefits of the DDOS may run all the way too lunchtime tomorrow!  Without hundreds of M/hash slow or unable to recover without intervention several hours after the attacks cease.

Whomever is doing it I think are getting away with a couple hundred thousand coins beyond each attack session.    There is no way they are going through this hassle to dump for 900 satoshis...   I suspect less scrupulous types are going long on EAC as well Wink

Well this is new Smiley (for me)

crypto gonna crypto

That is pretty much it,  I'm starting to think sailing these seas is something we've groomed for our whole life, but did not discover until we first smelled that sweet scent of bitcoin.   You either dismissed it as stupid rubbish immediately.   OR you starting changing your life over it.       Now I think no matter how it goes, we are at the cusp of a new era of value-store and transmission and self-constructed markets that will help us break free into 'the next everything'.

Huge DDoS all pools down or inefficient

start mining solo, solo mining = no DDoS + profit (low network hashrate due to down pools)

Price swings have probably nothing to do with DDoS. Price swings are because no volume at these crappy exchanges.

Solo mining not really gonna work properly at this stage.

For all i know there are 2 pools that didnt crash so far:

- http://earth.coinium.org/  -0% Fee
- http://hackshardgaming.net/ - 2% Fee

Maybe there are more, but those i know from experience that been working steady.

Keep up to pools and everything on our IRC Channel #Earthcoin

Which IRC server?  Freenode?

Yeah,  I fear with 3Mhs I am better off not trying to solo, regardless of how bad the DDOS is.

errf, we all know poolerino's being attacked because it is among the best. Price of success  Wink

Someone is making a move on EAC,  not sure who, or how but I am starting to think this is where much of the Alt-crypto action is.   We've got massive DDOS across multiple pools pulling 1-2Gh/s (scrypt!) offline for extended periods and we have 20-40% 'hourly' price swings on the few exchanges EAC is listed on.

This feels like the good old BTC days again Wink

1. Explain your anti ddos, must be a alien tech or something.
2. If a ddos happens to you, pls explain why it failed.

So come along try us out, if you like us stay if not leave us some constructive criticism.

Hey,   Your back up! Smiley

I'm submitting shares again!

Sorry but, just scroll a few lines up and you see that I did explain whats going on right now.
We are under a heavy ddos attack since this night. I will report back when we are online again.

poolerino down. Damn

I noticed whats up?  Im out a few thousand EAC at this point after discovering it late!

Thanks Mikellev,

I just scanned over 20 EAC pools,  at least 15-16 didn't even give me a response,  the few that did not give me confidence!   Someone is ON this coin right now.   I bet someone is dumping gobs of hashrate on it, while DDOS everyone else down.   Niiice.

Any recommendations?
