801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Best Community In Town! on: May 08, 2014, 02:23:32 AM
Will the price go up once XBC gets on different exchanges? Also, this is my first time ordering a cryptocoin from an exchange. I bought XBC from poloniex and its still in the open orders tab. How long does it usually take before i get them? Thanks guys.
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pump and Dump on: May 08, 2014, 01:10:22 AM
If you just trade for a profit that is not illegal.  I'm not even sure pump and dump is illegal.  You may be confusing it with insider trading.

Not a lawyer but what you are describing is fine.  You may want to research pump and dump more if you are planning on trading.

Good Luck.
Thanks for the reply, I read about pumping and dumping on its wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pump_and_dump and from what it says is that when a company pays people to rave about their stocks so their price goes up, then they sell their shares which causes investors to lose money, however that is for stocks... So im not sure if its much different from cryptocurrencies.. So just a regular joe that buys low and sells high should be fine? I'm also not talking about bitcoin... im thinking of investing in bitcoin plus (XBC)
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Pump and Dump on: May 08, 2014, 12:45:01 AM
Hi, I know that pumping and dumping is illegal, so how do i avoid it? If I buy a few coins and a few days later they rise up and then i sell them when they are up, is that considered pumping and dumping?

Do the coins need to stake before you can sell them? If so, how long does it take for them to stake?
805  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: question about gambling on: May 07, 2014, 11:39:58 PM
Do you think bitco.in is considered gambling? I rolled the dice twice and got like 400 satoshi, but i never made any bets or deposited bitcoin in that site... Is that considered gambling? And is bitco.in even a gambling site? Online gambling is illegal in my state... Thanks!

Did you maybe mean freebitco.in instead of bitco.in or not?
Oh yeah sorry about that... Fixing my post now!

807  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Poloniex question on: May 07, 2014, 10:28:14 PM
Dude, you really need to take your head out of the sand. Is it legal in the USA, hahahahahaha?? You want to use a semi anonymous currency, regulated by noone and quite often used by smugglers and criminals and you ask whether an exchange is legal in your state. Pfffffhahaaha.
USD is quite often used by smugglers and criminals too...
808  Economy / Service Discussion / Poloniex question on: May 07, 2014, 02:40:27 PM
Please excuse my ignorance, but is poloniex safe? Is it legal in Florida, USA? And one more thing, is there anything gambling related with poloniex? I would like to avoid gambling, thanks.

Sorry guys really new here, but bitcoin plus is looking like it has a lot of potential. So how can I get the wallet and buy XBC before the price explodes? Smiley Is there a trusted site i can buy from that is legal in the USA? Thanks for any replies!

You can download Windows wallet here: https://mega.co.nz/#!mlRDRT7D!468uC9TF0uQGyF6tbc5PdhhI8kEnxt-S8nzNfHHIxiw

Buy XBC at poloniex exchange: https://www.poloniex.com/exchange/btc_xbc
Wow thanks for the quick reply! Theres a .2% XBC fee? is that considered a lot? I've never used an exchange before... I've only bought bitcoin, and it was from coinbase. So how does this particular exchange work? Do I create an account, send my bitcoins to it, and enter in how many XBC i want to buy in the XBC amount box? One more thing, do you personally think XBC is going to become huge?

Sorry to sound really nooby guys, i know noobs can be annoying... But we all need to start somewhere right? Smiley

Hey! Yes that's a pretty accurate description of how things work. Wehn you buy you also need to choose the price you want to pay - if there are enough coins then your order will be filled right away, otherwise you'll have to wait until someone sells at your price.

As for predictions, I have been in IRC with the team since the start and they have a lot of talent, I really think this coin as a lot of potential. Short term I think a fairly modest prediction would be somewhere around $1,000,000 market cap, putting it somewhere between whitecoin and cinni. That would mean the price being more than double what it is now. Long term, could be a lot bigger if it takes off!

Edit: Poloniex has something called a 'Trollbox'. This is exactly as it sounds, a box with people trolling. You would be wise not to listen to anything said there, or at least take it with a very large grain of salt!
Ok awesome. Thanks for the response! One more thing. Can you post a link to the wallet? The link the other guy posted doesn't work... Also what does stake mean? I hear people asking when the coin will stake...

I just read posts from other people talking about May 10th and china...
813  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there be a another FUD after may 10th? on: May 07, 2014, 04:34:19 AM
You are asking if theres any certainty about uncertainty to come?  And saying its serious? Smiley

I was asking if there was a higher probability of bitcoin dropping more, after may 10th... read the above posts before you post...  Tongue
814  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there be a another FUD after may 10th? on: May 07, 2014, 04:24:01 AM

819  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin question? on: May 02, 2014, 09:33:14 PM
Why would they unbanned bitcoin? So that they can ban it again and manipulate the price?

Thats what i figured. Also, people on another thread on this site are the ones that said it would be unbanned after may 10th...
820  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin question? on: May 02, 2014, 08:33:05 PM
Sorry I hate to sound like a huge noob, but why should one buy bitcoin when the price is stable? i thought you where supposed to buy low; sell high? will bitcoin ever go up to the $500 mark again?

Well it is considerably lower than the all-time-high, and if you think Bitcoin is a technology that should be worth more than what it is right now, there's no reason not to buy.

Alright, sounds good. Do you think bitcoin will go up anytime soon? Like is there news of something that is going to happen in the future that will positively or negatively affect the market?
