181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 27, 2015, 12:57:08 PM
I've mined 4 blocks in the first day with 1xGtx980 @ 5.2mhash and then added -x 32 flag to the miner, hashrate went up to 5.4mhash but since then no accepted shares (for like 1 day now)... could it be that the flag causes rejects? how can i check in the nvidia miner? thanks for help

Can someone please assist with the above? Is there any way to see if all is going well?

Here's image with the miner and wallet

625 hash on XMR. Using 67% tdp only

How much watt is 67%? Do you have a watt-o-meter?

I think he answered this in the OP. 105-110W's.

This is quite good I think. Better Hash per watt then my 280x's anyway :/

I wonder what the new AMD cards will bring.

If I understand correctly gtx 980 is using the old nm chip. So the benefit shouldn't be so much...
twice the hashrate of the 780ti on keccak.... yep not much

and the price is like triple...

Triple of 780ti?? I'd say roughly same unless you meant 750ti

I'm running gtx 980 by EVGA, it's the SuperClocked stock cooler model. I set core through msi afterburner to +150; power to 125%; voltage to +.085volt; then launch nvinspector go to p2 and set mem to 4000mhz. No magic here guys, just simple OC. Then in gpu-z after launching cc miner you can see 1500core/8000mem(4000x2). And I'm sure it's not even closely optimized, cause power usage never goes even to 100% of TDP

I found why the NVIDIA GTX 970/980 shows such bad performance in mining (one of the reasons).
When running 3D games it enters P0 state (highest performance), when running Miners (CCMiner) it enters P2 state only. Specifically, the core goes to P0 but memory stays at P2, which means the memory never goes past 3000Mhz (6Ghz effective). So you're stuck with +-500hash.

Here's how to fix this:

1. download NVIDIA Inspector 1.9.7.3
2. click overcloicking
3. choose Performance Level[2] - (P2)
4. Click top right corner - Unlock Max
5. Move memory slider to 4000Mhz to start with (stable for me!)
6. Run your normal MSI Afterburner / Precision X and set your OC clocks for CORE
7. Run ccminer and enjoy your new kickass hash... well not really kickass, but I'm getting +-625 hash now. Power usage in MSI afterburner howers between 66-67%, so knowing TDP of 160W the card uses around 105-110W / 625 Hash! Bingo.

You welcome

P.S. This is for the GTX 980 obviously

P.P.S. For whomever is interested - this also makes the card get 7600 Khash in X11 mining without any CCminer tweaks, just 1500core /8000mem settings and +0.075volt

Getting around the 465-470h/s now

i guess this is not good news then. how hot does your card get under which temperature and how much video ram is being used?

i know that mine wasn't being used to the full (card being barely warm with fan at 30%), so there's definitely some optimizations to make on the miner side.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty for Open-Sourced XMR/Cryptonight GPU Miner Bounties Thread on: September 29, 2014, 01:35:38 PM
Around the 450h/s on my 970 with the 8x60 flag. Not sure if that's good or not or even the right setting :/

try 8x128?
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty for Open-Sourced XMR/Cryptonight GPU Miner Bounties Thread on: September 29, 2014, 09:36:02 AM
Can't wait to try it out later this evening.
@ Heslo - what kind of settings are you using and what are you getting on your GTX 970?

I was getting 550hash on my GTX 980 (OC) with the old version...
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty for Open-Sourced XMR/Cryptonight GPU Miner Bounties Thread on: September 22, 2014, 09:34:01 PM
Anyone settings / updated miner for GTX 980?

Send me the card and I will test it out for you.  Grin

Nice GPU.

My lil 750Ti, I use this  8x30

Maybe try that and then try other settings to compare to.

No matter what settings i try the card is barely warm with 60c and 30% cooler. Its not used to full. Hash is 530 with 8x128 (best ive gotten)
Tsiv, any ideas? It should get at least 3x 750ti perf @1000hash

195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner v6.1 on: July 30, 2014, 07:48:22 AM
Windows 8.1, 32GB Ram, 2x r9 290 and Im getting about 1200h combined rate in the Claymore console.  Is that normal for r9 290s?  Are there any switches or parameters I could pass when starting the program to increase hash rate?

If Elpida memory then yes it's okay hash
If Hynix then overclock to 1075/1500 and bump voltage very slightly (.025v)
You should get 750h+ per card.. So count on 1.5khash total
Also use 4.0 miner! Newer versions report higher hash in console but significantly lower "real" hash on pool.
On dwarfpool I see 15-20% difference!
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner v6.1 on: July 26, 2014, 09:07:17 PM
You guys are doing something wrong...
R9 290 Trix 775hash average with 1075-1500 clocks and +0.25 voltage bump (5 cards)
R9 290X Trix 801hash average with 1075-1500 clocks and +0.25 voltage bump (6 cards)

On a few of my rigs using any miner after 3.4, I get constant crashes and machine hangs which is a PITA as I have to drive to my location to restart them.

I've ran a lot of tests, clocks set to stock, over and underclocked and I get constant machine lockups after a few hours.  The worst rigs are my 6x tri-x 290'with the machine hang issue, I have a few 4x 7950 rigs as well and get a lockup on a couple of those.  Logs on all are similar to the following:

18:59:33:839   5c8   watchdog - thread 0, hb time 1965
18:59:33:839   c68   Round
18:59:33:849   5c8   WATCHDOG: Thread 0 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
18:59:33:859   5c8   watchdog - thread 1, hb time 671
18:59:33:859   5c8   watchdog - thread 2, hb time 1950
18:59:33:859   5c8   watchdog - thread 3, hb time 0
18:59:33:859   5c8   watchdog - thread 4, hb time 234
18:59:33:859   5c8   watchdog - thread 5, hb time 0
18:59:33:849   f00   Time gpu (2): 1950563
18:59:33:869   5c8   Restarting OK, exit...

It looks like the miner app restarts a couple of times as there are a couple of additional logs files that are just 1kb in size with only the following in:

19:01:34:659   b2c
19:01:34:739   b2c   ÉÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ»
19:01:34:739   b2c   º            Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner  v6.1 Beta            º
19:01:34:739   b2c   ÈÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍͼ

It then hangs the system but there is very little info in the event viewer as to why.  Once this happens the machine drops off the network and I have to reset it to get it going again.

Something a bit odd with my 290 rigs, if I actually downclock the core/mem to 947/1250, I get a faster hashrate...? at stock and any overclock I get under 3900, but down clocking the cards results in a higher hashrate.  Bit odd.  I see no hashrate increases by adjusting mem, only changes to the core appear to have an effect on hashrate.

It doesn't work with my 7950 rigs, but I'll take lower power usage from the 6 card rigs any day.

I'm running 13.12 drivers with LBR's mod from https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=11761.msg85946#msg85946 to get 6+ cards running under windows 7. I'll stick with 3.4 for now but anyone else having similar issues?

yes i am mining with r9 290 tri-x for two monts and the best working clocks for my rigs are 947/1250. i have 18 cards are all working a same. i am geting around 720 hashes per card.

We need an action plan to make this coin a success, so far several things you've mentioned that we must implement:
1) Vote block reward 50 to attract miners' attention
2) Gain publicity. Interviews, blogs, twitter, facebook, youtube, website activity
3) Make applied usage of TOR
4) Promote the NIST5 Algorithm

DEV, support team - would be great to make plan of these activities and start implementing one-by-one

Sending 360Mhash to mine this coin, seems it has some long-term appeal and future.
I wonder though why no other NIST5 coins are coming out... First X15 came out and already there are several clones with X17 on the way... With NIST5 it seems others didn't pick it up yet

This coin has real future, mining.
Also the protocol is innovative
Please keep adding features to link all innovation to the coin itself, e.g. what having the coin can offer or buy

Yay so many coinrapers.

I can not wait for mineral look-a-like coins.

the problem is the renting, which is a diabolic scam

3 months ago the renting prices where much higher. What happened?

it will rise again once enough people sell off their rigs in favor of rented mining and attempting to make a killing at launch. soon it will make more sense to mine 24 hours after launch, since most people can't sustain 24/7 1ghash / sec + rented mining
