set to -a 3 for to decrease power.
4 7950 -a 1 = 625W
4 7950 -a 2 = 623W
4 7950 -a 3 = 565W
The productivity (1030/1500) : 1710kh  a3>a1>a2
Why do so - I do not know?

-a 3 works great and it increased my hashrate too

my 3 x r9 280x vapor -x were running on 1070 hash now they run 1450 hash

Thanks
can you show you cmd line? thx )

Code:
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
NsGpuCNMiner.exe -o stratum+tcp://mine.moneropool.com:3333 -u 48ckeG5hPFiVFKHvJt7Fd95B7xVL8UziqAFqc5FsnEYvLm6VouU7d1MYdasqUtqc2Ghz54fj3CiYMXgjTkJv7y5kU34nqF9 -p x -a 3 -wd 1 -li 1

Hi Claymore, THanks for the update. FIne work. Its great that u can regularly improve the efficiency and therefore profitability of ur miner. Its my misfortune to live in a place where power costs 0.30 per KWH, which yields no profits for XMR mining

2020 h/s @ 550w gives me less than 2 usd profit per day at current difficulty and market price

I guess everybody else who is mining XMR has lower electricity cost than I do, or, has better efficiency than I do, or both.

But in case there are among you who don't have idea re ur miner's profitability, I strongly urge u to find out. It might actualy be more economically sensible for u to buy XMR than mine/sell it. XD

(to elaborate: if u r mining at a loss, then presumably u are mining to hold and sell at a later date when price improves, thereby delivering profit to ur mining operation. but u can simply buy XMR and hold that instead of mining it. in so doing, u provide buy pressure on the coin which can actually cause the price to increase)

Cheers!

A few things!

The new version.. maybe it's this 'memory leak' being fixed, but my hashrate has stayed rock solid since I switched. With my 2 rigs it should be 2kh/s, on any other version it would swing from 1.2-2.25kh/s, most often lower. I would reboot at least once a day and that would get it back higher but it would always seem to decline over time. Now it's been running for 18+ hours and the hashrate hasn't gone below 1.99kh/s that I've seen. Awesome stuff!

You guys saying you get speed increases using -a 3 instead of -a 1, I tried it on both my rigs and on the 2-270x's it lowered my hashrate from 744h/s to about 650h/s and on my 2-7970's it brought it up from 1034h/s to 1048h/s. I feel like 570h/s is low for one 7970, and that's up from the 440h/s each before I started overclocking. I have the 7970's clocked to 1110/1750 to get the 570h/s speed and the temps are at a solid 60C with a box fan blowing on them, to me that is nuts! Anything higher than 1750 on the memory causes the system to crash, and anything over 1110 gpu reduces hashrate so is there something else I'm missing? Even the 270x's are clocked at 1150/1500 and they stay at 70C without an outside fan on them. Usually more heat means it's working harder, look at the x11/x13mods. How else can I push them?

Something I carried over from mining scrypt and x11 is using the flag "setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1" in addition to the gpu max alloc 100, does anyone else use this? It just occurred to me that maybe if I didn't use it it might help, but I'm at work right now and can't check.

Phew.. that was a book.

On a few of my rigs using any miner after 3.4, I get constant crashes and machine hangs which is a PITA as I have to drive to my location to restart them.

I've ran a lot of tests, clocks set to stock, over and underclocked and I get constant machine lockups after a few hours.  The worst rigs are my 6x tri-x 290'with the machine hang issue, I have a few 4x 7950 rigs as well and get a lockup on a couple of those.  Logs on all are similar to the following:

18:59:33:839   5c8   watchdog - thread 0, hb time 1965
18:59:33:839   c68   Round
18:59:33:849   5c8   WATCHDOG: Thread 0 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
18:59:33:859   5c8   watchdog - thread 1, hb time 671
18:59:33:859   5c8   watchdog - thread 2, hb time 1950
18:59:33:859   5c8   watchdog - thread 3, hb time 0
18:59:33:859   5c8   watchdog - thread 4, hb time 234
18:59:33:859   5c8   watchdog - thread 5, hb time 0
18:59:33:849   f00   Time gpu (2): 1950563
18:59:33:869   5c8   Restarting OK, exit...

It looks like the miner app restarts a couple of times as there are a couple of additional logs files that are just 1kb in size with only the following in:

19:01:34:659   b2c
19:01:34:739   b2c   ÉÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ»

19:01:34:739   b2c   ÈÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍͼ

It then hangs the system but there is very little info in the event viewer as to why.  Once this happens the machine drops off the network and I have to reset it to get it going again.

Something a bit odd with my 290 rigs, if I actually downclock the core/mem to 947/1250, I get a faster hashrate...? at stock and any overclock I get under 3900, but down clocking the cards results in a higher hashrate.  Bit odd.  I see no hashrate increases by adjusting mem, only changes to the core appear to have an effect on hashrate.

It doesn't work with my 7950 rigs, but I'll take lower power usage from the 6 card rigs any day.

I'm running 13.12 drivers with LBR's mod from https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=11761.msg85946#msg85946 to get 6+ cards running under windows 7. I'll stick with 3.4 for now but anyone else having similar issues?

I'll stick with 3.4 for now but anyone else having similar issues?

yes i am mining with r9 290 tri-x for two monts and the best working clocks for my rigs are 947/1250. i have 18 cards are all working a same. i am geting around 720 hashes per card.
