Pure greed and stupidity on my part really, never trade to anyone who does not respond to your emails to them, and never trade with anyone with a gmx.de email address (common address used by international scammers).
I have traded with people using gmx.de addresses and I have no complaints. But I am using bank transfer, not Paypal...

WHERE are all the people decrying alt chains as "scams" and proclaiming they won't participate in I0coin for whatever moral reasons? Or do we have to wait til we pass 10 difficulty levels before the johnny come latelys, who missed the early adopter boat, start whining?
I'm here! Hum... I guess I already said everything in other threads... I really don't care for profiting with this stuff so I am not participating in any of this. But it is fun to watch

That's the point, nothing stop them to just disappear with your BTC. Read the "TRUST NO ONE" thread, here in this world it is a very possible thing
If you don't like it, then don't use it. Just don't go around screaming scam because you are too afraid of everything. I think ewallets will play an important role in bicoin's success, but they must prove themselves trustworthy. I know that you should store your wallet offilne with triple encryption using an encrypted volume which is inside a safe in a locked basement without windows. However, this approach isn't usable (yes, there is a world out there where people don't know what an hash is). An ewallet could provide security + usability, just like a real bank does.

You are kind of bored aren't you? Mine is 7 days, 19 hours and 52 minutes. But I leave my computer on most of the time...

I was reading the thread on Flexcoin "Flexcoin is Live to Everyone", so i went and checked out this flexcoin site. I can't post in the normal threads since still a newbie, but wanted to make sure everyone saw how they charge minimum of .01 bitcoin and up to 0.5% on transfer to any kind of external bitcoin address, so there is no maximum on the fee. The site is basically a scam.
The word scam in this forum must have a different meaning. I need to revise my english... Well, they give you interest in your money. If you have lots of BTC savings and if you don't mind trusting a third party, you can deposit the money at flexcoin and earn monthly interest. This interest comes from those fees, as they explain in the FAQ. The fees are also used to pay miners and to keep the service running.

@the founder (FlexCoin), I have an idea for you. You could create two kinds of accounts for each user. Let's say, one savings account and one everyday account. The savings account already exists (generates interest, but has a withdrawal fee) and it would be used mainly for long term storage. The everyday account would generate lower insterest (or no interest at all) and have much lower fees. I think people are afraid to use flexcoin for frequent payments because there are withdrawal fees. Most of us like to keep a few BTC at hand and there aren't many ewallets alternatives since the mybitcoin case. It's just an idea. This would make your website a little more complicated and you might not want to implement such functionality. But think about it...

Recently, flexcoin caught my attention. But they're more like a savings account I think... Instawallet is really nice, but it always makes me feel unsafe. Strangely, there aren't many other options. Bitcoin would really benefit from a trusted and professional ewallet service.

Can someone with more insight please reply to this? What would happen if plenty more of these clones pop up, each with a shorter maturity than the last one? Was it was supposed to happen? What that implies is kind of scary... Well, you can read the "Scam! Cheater! There's no point in this!" vs "You are just a jealous bitcoin early adopter! Easy mining! Easy profit!" discussion at the offtopic section. Clones are inevitable. Some people say that bitcoin will benefit from other crypto currencies, others say that we should focus all of our efforts in bitcoin instead of creating N different currencies. It will be interesting to see if a real competitor comes up with some good improvements on bitcoin's weaknesses. Ixcoin is not the case. I personally don't like it because it doesn't have a real purpose, besides profit.

This is also appealing to miners who just want instant cash, since they'd be paid in USD.
Isn't it more or less the same for miners? They will still have to set a price for their work. Selling bitcoins or nonces is not very different...

By the way, how do I know how many bitcoins is a reasonable charge for services like that? In the real world, I charge between $15 to $30 US dollars per hour. How does that convert? Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately, bitcoin prices still fluctuate a lot. You can see the prices over the last months here. If you want an instant converter based on the current price, use this: http://www.preev.com/

Has anyone tried to tamper these cards?
Is it possible to open the card with a scalpel, remove the code and glue everything back together? I don't really know how are these cards made (I don't have even one) so I am just speculating...

Actually, jjgames does accept bitcoins. The owner of the website was one of the early entrepreneurs in the bitcoin space. I will add instructions ( link) below his products explaining how to buy his video games using bitcoins. I will work on adding pagination so people can see additional search results :-) It seems to be a desperately needed feature. Oh, cool. I didn't see it anywhere. The FAQ doesn't mention it and during checkout I only saw a Paypal option. Didn't see the promocode button

|
|
And make it like 1.000 coins per block so that we can finish it up during the first month. I hate long pyramid schemes.
|
|
|
I can see 10 results and a half. I can't click on the 11th result because I can't scroll. I searched for games and I got a lot of results from http://www.jjgames.com/, but they only accept Paypal. Isn't this supposed to be a search engine for products sold with bitcoins? But congratulations on the web site. And good luck

i wonder why there's no mention of it on their news page.
It's in the summer features

Any more details? Can they just buy machines and put them anywhere? If the machines aren't properly secured the website hacks will come to real life...
