To: I0coin dev, please do compile a windows version as well.

PLEASE HAVE a WINDOWS VERSION COMPILED I would be so mad if I turned out I had to compile...

I've already asked for a compiled Linux version also. Thanks.

WHERE are all the people decrying alt chains as "scams" and proclaiming they won't participate in I0coin for whatever moral reasons?  Or do we have to wait til we pass 10 difficulty levels before the johnny come latelys, who missed the early adopter boat, start whining?

Maybe they heard the stories of people making 100s of BTC / night as early adopters to ixcoin (which is now dying). It's worth a shot. Smiley

What about the keychain that is allready online ? ca. 720blocks?
Is this a testnet and will be resetted tomorrow?`

Now there are already like 2400 blocks, are they kept?

What is the difference between I0coin and bitcoin?
Only the total generated coins and the starting date as with Ixcoin?

2 different forms of free-money: Freicoin (free of basic interest because it's perishable), Mutual credit (no interest because it's abundant)

The only notable difference, I might have missed others, is the difficulty correction would be 14 days OR 2016 blocks whichever comes first. This would help IXCoin avoid getting the Namecoin fate of getting pumped and abandoned after difficulty goes through the roof. Apart from that, there doesn't seem to be that much difference. Just that comparatively, IOCoin founder seems a tad more moral than IXCoin Cheesy

How can a blockchain be resetted technically?

By releasing new code/clients with a new epoch block.

higher inflation rate(i dont like but w/e)
faster blocks, so faster confirmations and transactions.. this is good.
address checking to keep you from accidently sending iocoins to bitcoin addy.. this is missing in ixcoin and namecoin and is good.
wallet encryption, the most begged for feature that is STILL missing from bitcoin, this is more than good.
they start time is being announced, no one is taking a bunch of IOcoins before launch and everyone will be mining on day one who wants to.. unlike ixcoin.

IOCOIN actually addresses issues in Bitcoin, namecoin and ixcoin that have yet to be fixed in any of them.

The curve of generation is equivalent, so this change nothing but the spot price of a unit.

What is the target instead of 10 minutes?

address checking to keep you from accidently sending iocoins to bitcoin addy.. this is missing in ixcoin and namecoin and is good.

Doesn't Bitcoin and namecoin have this?

wallet encryption, the most begged for feature that is STILL missing from bitcoin, this is more than good.

Very cool. Can't the change be pushed to the bitcoin client?

they start time is being announced, no one is taking a bunch of IOcoins before launch and everyone will be mining on day one who wants to.. unlike ixcoin.

Yes, shame on ixcoin. Not announced and its website lies about the maximum supply.

IOCOIN actually addresses issues in Bitcoin, namecoin and ixcoin that have yet to be fixed in any of them.

Compared with bitcoin and namecoin, I don't see why iocoins features can't just be added to the former chains.
The address validation and the encrypted wallet don't even need to change the rules for the accepted blocks in the chain

Not sure if this has been noted in this thread (I couldn't see it) but I'm curious about this post. Will this have the same issue?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36218.msg456598#msg456598
Yes, its fixed.

--

Don't waste your time mining on the released client source code, i'll use a different genesis block Cheesy It was an experiment to see how many mates will compile the code and start mining from beforehand.

The launch date will not change again, please sorry for the delay.

You make it sound like all those people were arguing that Ixcoin was a scam just because it was an alternate blockchain. In fact, most of the posters who called Ixcoin a scam focused on the fact that hundreds of thousands of coins were already mined before the project was made public, unlike this project or say namecoin.

I'm here! Hum... I guess I already said everything in other threads... I really don't care for profiting with this stuff so I am not participating in any of this. But it is fun to watch  Cool
